Prayers.

Brackley Election.

MR. Serjeant Charleton reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, touching the double Return for the Town of Brackley, That Sir William Farmer Knight, since deceased, and Robert Spencer Esquire, were returned by one Indenture, by the Mayor; and Sir Thomas Crew by another Indenture, by the Bargesses; and the Opinion of the Committee, that Robert Spencer Esquire, being returned by the proper Officers, do sit, until the Merit of his Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House do agree with the said Committee; and that the said Mr. Spencer, being returned by the proper Officers, do sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Milborne Port Election.

Mr. Serjeant Charleton reports from the same Committee, touching the Returns for the Borough of Milborne Port, That Francis Windham Esquire, and Michaell Mallet Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and that Henry Milburne Esquire, and Michaell Mallet Esquire, are returned by another Indenture; that the first Indenture is returned by one as Sub Bailiff; and that the other Return concludes "in cujus Regi Testimonium, Vicecomes alteri parti Sigillum suum apposuit;" and so the same appears to be rather a Counterpart, and no Original; and the Opinion of the Committee, that the last is no Return; and that the said Francis Windham ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee; and that Mr. Francis Windham do sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Stockbridge Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the same Committee, touching the double Return for Stockbridge, That Sir Robert Howard Knight, and Robert Phillips Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and Henry Whitehead Esquire, and Sir Robert Howard by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that the said Mr. Phillips, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee, that the said Mr. Phillips, being returned by the proper Officer, do sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Sudburey Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the same Committee, touching the double Return for Sudburey, that Isaack Appleton Esquire, and Thomas Walgrave Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and Sir Robert Cordell, and Sir Thomas Barnardiston, by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that Mr. Appleton and Mr. Walgrave, returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the said Mr. Appleton and Mr. Walgrave, being returned by the proper Officer, do sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Haslemere Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the same Committee, touching the double Returns for the Borough of Haslemere, that James Gresham Esquire, and Challener Chute Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and George Evelin Esquire, and Thomas Morrice Esquire, by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that the said Mr. Gresham and Mr. Chute ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee, that the said Mr. Gresham and Mr. Chute do sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Bramber Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the said Committee, touching the double Return for the Borough of Bramber, that John Byne Esquire, and Peirce Goring Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and the said John Byne Esquire, and John Parsons Esquire, by another Indenture, and the Opinion of the Committee, that the said Mr. Goring, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee, that the said Mr. Goring, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Downton Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the said Committee, touching the double Return for the Borough of Downton, that Gilbert Raleigh Esquire, and Walter Buckland Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and John Elliot Gentleman, and Giles Eyres Esquire, by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that Mr. Raleigh and Mr. Buckland, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House agree with the said Committee, that the said Mr. Raleigh and Mr. Buckland, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit in this House until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Chippenham Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the said Committee, touching the double Return for the Borough of Chippenham, that Edward Hungerford Esquire, and Henry Baynton Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and Sir Hugh Speake Baronet, by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that Mr. Hungerford and Mr. Baynton, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House do agree with the said Committee, that the said Mr. Hungerford and Mr. Baynton, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Brecon Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the said Committee, touching the double Return of the Town of Brecon, that Sir Herbert Price was returned by one Indenture; and Kingsmell Lucy Esquire by another Indenture, and the Opinion of the Committee, that Sir Herbert Price, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That the House doth agree with the said Committee, that the said Sir Herbert Price, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Bedwyn Magna Election.

Serjeant Charleton makes Report from the same Committee, touching the double Return for the Borough of Bedwyn Magna, that Duke Stonehouse Esquire, and Henry Clarke Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and the said Mr. Stonehouse, and Mr. Thomas Gaye, by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that the said Mr. Clarke, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Resolved, That this House do agree with the said Committee, that the said Mr. Clarke, being returned by the proper Officer, ought to sit in this House, until the Merits of the Cause touching the said Election be determined.

Hattesbury Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, touching the Return for the Borough of Hattesbury in the County of Wiltes, that Sir Charles Berkley, and Henry Coker Esquire, are returned by one Indenture; and Sir Joseph Ash and John Jolliff Esquire, by another Indenture; and the Opinion of the Committee, that neither of the Returns were good; and that a new Writ should issue.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the Committee, that neither of the said Returns are good; and that Mr. Speaker do make a Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown for the Issuing of a new Writ, for a new Election for the said Borough.

Lobby, &c. to be cleared.

Ordered, That the Marshal do clear the Lobby Stairs, and Court of Requests, and other Passages to this House, of the Lacqueys, and other Persons that give Disburbance to the Members of this House.

Northampton Election.

A Petition of the Mayor, Aldermen, Bailiff, and Part of the Commonalty, of the Borough of Northampton, touching the Return for that Borough, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee for Privileges and Elections, to take the same into Consideration at their next Sitting, and to make Report thereof unto this House at their next Sitting after That; and that the Sheriff of Northamptonshire do attend the said Committee, at their next Sitting, to give an Account touching the said Election; whereof the Serjeant attending this House is to give him Notice.

Derham's Estate.

Ordered, That Mr. Derham's Bill be read To-morrow Morning.

Packington's Estate.

A Bill for vacating of Conveyances passed by Sir John Packington and his Lady, of certain Lands at Aylesbury, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That the said Bill be read again the Second time on this Day Sevennight.

Orlabeare's Estate.

Ordered, That the Bill for reviving a Settlement of certain Lands on John Orlabeare for Life, with Remainder to his Son, be read the first To-morrow Morning.

Militia.

A Bill for ordering the Forces in the several Counties of this Kingdom, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That this Bill be read again the Second time on Tuesday Morning next.

Repairs of Churches.

Ordered, That Sir Henry North be desired to prepare and bring in a Bill, To-morrow Morning, to enable Churchwardens and Constables to levy Money for Repairs of Churches, and other Occasions.

Solemn League and Covenant.

The Question being put, Whether the main Question, that the Instrument or Writing, called, The Solemn League and Covenant, be burned by the Hand of the Common Hangman, shall be put at this Time;
