Prayers.

Regulating the Press.

AN ingrossed Bill for Continuance of a former Act for regulating the Press, was read.

A Proviso was tendered to be added to the Bill; and once read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be read a Second time;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for Continuance of a former Act for regulating the Press.

And Sir John Birkenhead is to carry up the Bill to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Unnecessary Suits.

Mr. Pryn reports from the Committee to which the Bill for avoiding unnecessary Suits and Delays was committed, One Amendment, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which Amendment was twice read; and, on the Question, agreed to.

The Question being put, That the Word "real" shall stand in the Bill;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Blancquefort's, &c. Nat.

Mr. Speaker having produced, and read, several Certificates, delivered unto him, of several Persons, nominated in the Bill of Naturalization, their receiving the Sacrament;

The Question being put, That the Bill for naturalizing Lewis Blanquefort, and others, do pass;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Resolved, &c. That the Title shall be, An Act for naturalizing Lewis Blancquefort, and others.

And Sir John Birkenhead is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Distresses for Rents.

Mr. Mountague reports from the Committee to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, for a more speedy and effectual Proceeding upon Avowries and Distresses for Rents, was committed, some Amendments agreed by the Committee to be made, and a Proviso to be added, to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

And the Two first Amendments being twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed;

And some Debate arising on the other Amendments;

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to the former Committee: And Colonel Birch, Mr. Coleman, and all the Gentlemen of the Long Robe, are added to the Committee: And the Committee is revived; and to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Place formerly appointed.

Attainder of Dolman, &c.

A Bill for Attainting of Thomas Dolman, Joseph Bampfeild, and * Scot, of High Treason, if they do not come in, and render themselves by a Day, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Mr. Pryn, Sir Job Charleton, Colonel Strangewayes, Sir Rob. Atkins, Sir Allen Broadrick, Mr. Crowch, Mr. Milward, Sir John Talbot, Mr. Coleman, Mr. Hyde, Sir Wm. Coventry, Sir Jo. Coriton, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir Tho. Dolman, Mr. Bartue, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Mr. Secretary Morrice, Mr. Waller, Sir Rob. Carr, Sir Lan. Lake, Sir Walt. St. John, Mr. Yorke, Mr. Chichesley, Mr. Serjeant Maynard, Mr. Kent, Mr. Street, Sir George Downing: And all the Members that shall come, are to have Voices: And they are to meet in the Divinity School, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Message from the King.

Mr. Secretary Morrice acquaints the House, That it was his Majesty's Pleasure (which he did not doubt would consist with the Desire of this House), That both Houses should rise on Tuesday next.

Oath and Declaration.

A Bill for enjoining the taking the Oath and Declaration therein mentioned, was read the Second time.

The Question being put, That the Bill be committed;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

And so it passed in the Negative.

Uniting Churches.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Childe and Sir Nath. Hobart;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords do concur with you in the Alterations and Amendments to the Bill for uniting Churches in Cities and Towns Corporate.
