A BILL for Regulating of Juries, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read the Second time.

Carr's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill for settling the Estate of Sir Robert Carr Baronet, was read.

A Proviso, for taking care of the Person of Sir Robert Carr Baronet, was twice read.

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "for the Time being," be added to the Proviso after the Word "Chancellor."

Which was done; and the Words thrice read; and agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "or Lord Keeper of the Great Seal," be added.

Which was done; and the Words thrice read; and agreed to.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be read a Third time;

It passed in the Negative.

The Question being put, That the Bill do pass;

The House was divided.

Wood and Coals Assize.

Ordered, That the Committee to which the Matter touching Abuses in Buying and Selling of Coal, Wood, and other Fuel, was committed, do meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Arrest of Judgment.

An ingrossed Bill to prevent Arrests in Judgments, and superseding Executions, was read.

Ordered, That the Words "Five and" be added to the Bill.

A Proviso, for making the Bill temporal, was thrice read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act to prevent Arrests of Judgments, and superseding Executions.

Costs in Actions.

An ingrossed Bill for Limiting of Costs in trivial and vexatious Actions, was read.

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "which shall be certified by the Justice or Justices before whom the same shall be tried," be inserted in the Bill.

A Proviso, on the Behalf of Constables, and other Officers, was thrice read.

Resolved, &c. That the Proviso be added to the Bill.

Another Proviso, concerning Actions, where full, double, or treble Costs are given by any Statute since the 43d Eliz. was thrice read.

Duchy of Lancaster Affidavits.

A Bill for impowering the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster to nominate Commissioners for the taking Affidavits in the Country . . . read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Thomas Ingram, Serjeant Charleton, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Milward, Mr. Pepis, Sir John Talbott, Sir Fra. Goodrick, Mr. Chettwyne, Colonel Fretchvile, Mr. Rigby, Colonel Robinson, Mr. Ford, Sir Tho. Meres, Mr. Pryn, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir John Heath, and all the Members of this House that serve for the several Counties of Lancaster, Chester, Derby, and York, and all the Members of this House that are of the Long Robe: And they are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Privilege.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges, to examine, at their next Sitting, the Matter of Breach of Privilege, complained to be committed by Walter Devereux, Robert Devereux, Robert Archer, and Ralph Gregg, in commencing and prosecuting a Suit at Law, in which the Interest of Mr. Lucy, a Member of this House, is concerned; and to report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And that all further Proceedings in the said Suit be staid during the Session of this Parliament.
