Damage Cleere.
A Bill for taking away of Damage Cleere was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Tuesday next.
Highway Laws.
Resolved, That a Committee be appointed to peruse the old Laws, and also the Acts lately made, concerning the Highways; and to see wherein they are defective; and to bring in a new Bill for the effectual repairing and maintaining the Highways: And that it be referred to Colonel Williams, Colonel Windham, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Pryn, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir John Brampston, Colonel Reames, Sir Fra. Goodrick, Mr. Jones, Lord Richardson, Lord Allington, Sir Edw. Masters, Sir John Duncombe, Major Walden, Colonel Robinson, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Mr. Pepis, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Tho. Higgons, Mr. Buller, Mr. Finch, Sir Tho. Dyke, Sir Tho. Littleton, Mr. Chicheley, Sir Tho. Wendy, Mr. Whorwood, Sir John Denham, Mr. Jay, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir John Shaw, Sir Ralph Hare, Mr. Lowther, Mr. Kendall, Mr. Rigby, and all the Members that serve for the several Counties of Essex, Hartford, Cambridge, and Huntington: And they, or any Four of them, are to meet on Monday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.
Ways and Means.
Resolved, &c. That the House be resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration the Method and Manner of raising the Five-and-twenty hundred thousand Pounds Supply for the King's Majesty.
And then the House resolved into a Committee of the whole House accordingly.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir John Brampston took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.
Sir John Brampston reports from the said Committee, That they had made some Progress in the Debate of the Manner of levying the Five-and-twenty hundred thousand Pounds Supply for his Majesty: And humbly moved, That the House would resolve into a Committee of the whole House, on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, to the end the Committee may proceed in the further Debate thereof.
Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Committee of the whole House, on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, in order to the Committee's further Proceeding in the Debate before them, of the Manner of levying the Five-and-twenty hundred thousand Pounds Supply to his Majesty.
And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning next, at Eight of the Clock.
