Jones's Petition.

A PETITION of Thomas Jones Esquire, a Member of this House, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Petition be committed to Mr. Milward, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Fra. Goodrick, Sir John Shaw, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Spencer, Sir Hen. Vernon, Sir Edm. Peirce, Lord Gorge, Mr. Westfaling, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir Robert Atkyns, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Devereux, Mr. Seymour, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Dowdswell, Mr. Jo. Jones, Mr. Finch, Sir Solomon Swale, Sir Wm. Lewis, Mr. Heath, Sir Tho. Strickland; and all the Members of this House that serve for the County of Salop: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to call all Parties concerned (except the Lord Newport) before them: And send for such Persons, Papers, and Records, as they shall find necessary: And to examine the Matter of the Petition; and make Report of it to the House, with what Speed they can.

Mersey, &c. Navigation.

A Bill for making navigable of the Rivers Mersey and Weever, in the Counties of Chester and Lancaster, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time, on Monday next.

Grocers Free School.

A Bill for the Incorporating of the Master and Wardens of the Company of Grocers, London, to be Governors of the Free School in Whitney in the County of Oxford, of the Foundation of Henry Box Esquire, Citizen and Grocer of London; and for the Settling of Lands and Possessions on that School, for the Maintenance thereof; was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be committed to Sir Fra. Goodrick, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Hen. Newton, Sir Wm. Fleetwood, Mr. Westfaling, Mr. Peckham, Sir Hen. Capell, Mr. Tulse, Sir John Shaw, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir Robert Atkyns, Mr. Dennis, Sir John Norton, Lord Bruce, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Sir Solomon Swale, Sir Hen. Bennet, Sir Lanc. Lake, Lord Cornbury, Sir John Goodrick, Sir John Nicholas, Sir Edw. Moseley, Mr. Bold; and all the Members of this House that serve for the County of Oxford: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Call of the House.

The House then, according to the Order made the One-and-twentieth of February last, proceeded to call over the House.

And there being a very great Appearance of Members; and Excuses being made, and allowed, for such as were absent, saving only Five or Six; the House also held it fit to excuse them also.

Morley's Estate.

Ordered, That the Bill for vesting the Lands and Tenements of Cuthbert Morley in Richard Barret, and others, till they have received certain Monies due to them, appointed to be read the Second time this Day, be read the Second time To-morrow Morning.

Back Door to be shut.

Upon Information, That several Persons that were not Members of the House, had Access given them by the Back Door, to come into the Speaker's Chamber, and also into the Gallery, whilst the House was sitting;

Ordered, That the Back-door be constantly kept shut, during such Time as the House is sitting: And that the Serjeant at Arms do take care thereof.

Corporations.

Ordered, That the Bill for regulating of Corporations be referred to the Committee appointed to peruse the Bill of Uniformity with the other Bills; to take that Bill also into Consideration; and make Report thereof to the House: And they are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber, this Afternoon at Three of the Clock.

Ordered, That the additional Bill for Corporations, in the Hands of Sir Thomas Gower, be brought in to this House To-morrow Morning.

Member to receive the Sucrament.

The Question being propounded, That Mr. Love, a Member of this House, have a Month's Time given him to receive the Sacrament, according to the Form prescribed in the Liturgy of the Church of England; and to bring Certificate thereof;

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.
