Votes to be expunged.
MR. Pryn reports from the Committee, What Votes are fit to be expunged out of the Journal-Book.
Ordered, That the Entry of Dissents, by Members of Parliament, to the Vote of the 5th of December 1648, be discharged, and made null and void, and be expunged out of the Journals of Parliament.
Gen. Browne.
A Proclamation, dated the Third Day of June 1659 against Major-General Browne, and others, to render themselves to the Council of State, was read.
Resolved, &c. That Major-General Browne be admitted to come and take his Place in Parliament.
Ordered, That the Order for the said Proclamation, as to Major-General Browne; and the said Proclamation, as to the said Major-General Browne; be, and are hereby vacated, and made null and void; some Members of the Council of State having declared, That nothing appeared charged against the said Major-General Browne: Whereupon, It is Ordered, That he be and is cleared, and fully acquitted, by the Parliament.
Sir G. Booth.
Colonel Morley reports, The Warrant by which Sir George Booth was committed to the Tower: Which was read.
Resolved, That Sir George Booth be discharged of his Imprisonment in the Tower, upon giving Five thousand Pounds Bail, to answer any thing that shall be objected against him: And that the Lieutenant of the Tower do take Bail of him accordingly.
Resolved, That the Sequestration of the Estate of Sir George Booth be suspended, until the Parliament take further Order: And that the Commissioners for Sequestration, and all other Persons whom it doth and may concern, are required to forbear further to proceed upon the said Sequestration.
Customs and Excise.
A Bill for the Continuance of the Customs and Excise, from the last Day of February 1659, until the Day of, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Colonel White, Alderman Atkin, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Knightley, Colonel Tho. Birch, Mr. Crew, Colonel Dove, Sir John Evelyn, Mr. Lechmere, Colonel Morley, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Mr. Scoen, Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, Colonel John Birch, Sir Richard Onslow, Sir Wm. Brereton, Sir Wm. Lewis, Colonel Thompson, Sir Anthony Irby, Sir Peter Wentworth, Colonel Fagg, Mr. Justice Hill, Mr. Ansley, Major General Browne, Mr. West, Mr. Vassall, Sir Wm. Waller, Colonel Lister, Mr. Jenning, Mr. Robert Goodwin, Mr. Nath. Stevens, Mr. Wheeler; and all the Gentlemen of the Long-Robe, or any Five of them: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Court of Wards: And that it be brought in To-morrow Morning: And that Colonel White do take care hereof.
New Parliament to be summoned.
Resolved, That a new Parliament be summoned to appear, upon the 25th Day of April 1660: And that the Lords Commissioners for Custody of the Great Seal do issue forth Writs for Election of Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, and Barons of the Cinque Ports, with the Members thereof, and the Town of Berwick upon Tweed, to sit and serve in Parliament, returnable the 25th Day of April 1660.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to prepare Qualifications of Members to sit and serve in Parliament; and report them to the Parliament: Viz. Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Mr. Ansley, Mr. Crew, Colonel Morley, Colonel Dove, Mr. Scoen, Mr. Long, Mr. Pryn, Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, Mr. Robert Goodwin, Sir John Potts, Mr. Hay, Mr. Ralegh, Sir Roger Burgoyn, Colonel Montague, Sir Richard Onslo, Sir John Evelyn, Mr. Corbet, Mr. West, Mr. Hungerford, Colonel Thompson, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Lechmere, Mr. Gerrard, Sir Wm. Resolved, That the Names of the Sheriffs be presented to the Parliament, for their Consideration, the first Business, To-morrow Morning; nothing to intervene.
Prisoner discharged.
Resolved, That Mr. Faunt, Sheriff of the County of Leicester, be, and is hereby, discharged from his Imprisonment.
Resolves communicated to the City.
Sir Gilbert Gerrard reports, That he acquainted the Lord Mayor and Aldermen of London with the Resolves of the Parliament, made Yesterday, according to the Command of the Parliament: And that they return their humble Thanks to the Parliament, for their Respects to the City.
Justices of Peace.
Resolved, That the Knights and Burgesses of every County be added to the Committee for nominating Justices of the Peace.
Army Committee.
Ordered, That Mr. Scoen, and Colonel John Birch, be added to the Committee for the Army.
Loan by the City.
Ordered, That a Committee be appointed to go to the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Common Council of the City of London, to confer with them, about the Advance of such Sums of Money as they conceive necessary, upon Security of the Assessments for the Army for the present Supply of the Army and Navy: Viz. unto Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Sir Richard Onslow, Major-General Browne, Mr. Serjeant Glyn, Colonel John Birch, Mr. Crew, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir John Evelyn; or any Five of them.
Resolved, That the City be desired to advance Money: And that the Assessment be Security for Repayment of the said Money.
Assessments.
Ordered, That Letters be written, and signed by Mr. Speaker, to the Commissioners of the Assessments for the Army in the City of London, and to the Commissioners for the respective Counties, to quicken the paying in the Assessments: And that Colonel John Birch, Mr. Scoen, and Mr. Pury, do prepare the said Letters.
Election Writs.
Ordered, That a Committee be appointed to bring in an Act for repealing the Act appointing the Form of a Writ for Members to sit and serve in Parliament: Viz. Mr. Pryn, Mr. Foxwist, Serjeant Maynard, Sir Wm. Waller, Serjeant Earle.
City Gates restored.
Resolved, That the Gates, Portcullices, and Posts, of the City of London, be made up, at the publick Charge of the State.
Council of State.
Ordered, That the House do proceed To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, to the Election of the Council of State: And that the Members of this House do prepare their Names, accordingly.
Army Commissioners.
Ordered, That Mr. Serjeant Maynard do bring in an Act for Repeal of the Act constituting Commissioners for Management of the Army.
Gen. Monck to be Captain-General.
Ordered, That Sir William Wheeler do bring in a Commission to constitute General George Monck CaptainGeneral, under the Parliament, of all the Land-Forces in England, Scotland, and Ireland.
