Prayers.

Haslemore Return amended.

THE House being informed, That, in pursuance of the Order of this House, of the Three-and-twentieth of this Instant March, the Bailiff of the Borough of Haslemore in the County of Surry was without at the Door; and that the Deputy to the Clerk of the Commonwealth in Chancery attended, with the Indenture and Return, whereby Henry Fitz-James and Mr. John Hooke are returned to serve as Members in this present Parliament for the said Borough, to have the same amended;

They were called in: And the Bailiff of the said Borough did, in the Presence of the House, at the Bar, rase and put out of the said Indenture the Name of the said John Hooke; and did, instead theseof, insert and put the Name of John Westbrooke Esquire, duly elected to serve as one of the Burgesses in this present Parliament for the said Borough, into the said Indenture: Which being done, and the Amendment brought to the Chair, and shewed to the House, they withdrew.

Lambort's Estate.

The Case of John Lambert of Wimbleton in the County of Surry, Esquire, concerning a yearly Rent of One thousand Two hundred and Twenty-eight Pounds Seventeen Shillings, issuing out of Hatfield Chace in the Counties of Yorke, Lincolne, and Nottingham, and purchased by him, was this Day presented to the House; and read.

Mr. Edward Turner, Colonel White, Sir Horatio Townesend, Lord Fairfax, Colonel Cooke, Colonel Parsons, Sir George Booth, Colonel Talbott, Mr. Trevor, Sir Arthur Hesilrige, Sir Robert Pye, Mr. Annesley, Colonel Alured, Mr. Trenchard, Sir William Wheeler, Mr. Margetts, Sir Thomas Dickenson, Sir William Doyley, Mr. Henry Nevik, Colonel Whetham, Mr. Jenkinson, are appointed a Committee to examine the Case of the Lord Lambert, this Day presented and read in the House: And are to hear what shall be offered concerning the Duke of Buckingham, and his Creditors, and any other Persons therein concerned: And to report their Opinions upon the whole Matter, to the House: And are to meet concerning the same, in the Inner Court of Wards, Tomorrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock.

Elections in Durham.

The humble Petition of the Knights, Justices of Peace, Grand Jury, Gentlemen, Ministers, and Freeholders, of the County Palatine of Durham, was this Day read; and was to have like Privilege as other Counties, in electing of Knights and Burgesses to sit in Parliament for the said County.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to a Committee: And they to bring in a Bill for an equal Representative to serve in this present Parliament for the County and City of Durham.

A Bill for taking away all Laws, Statutes, and Ordinances, concerning the Excise and New Impost, after Years, and concerning Customs, Tonage, and Poundage, after Months, after the Death of his Highness the Lord Protector, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Debate upon this Bill be adjourned until To-morrow Morning; and that nothing else do then intervene.

Leave of Absence.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. John Weaver, one of the Members of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight.
