Sheriff of Cornwall.

ORDERED, That John Elliott Esquire be discharged from being Sheriff of the County of Cornwall, for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That James Prade, of Tremehow in the Parish of La Lant in the County of Cornwall, be, and is hereby, nominated and approved of to be Sheriff of the County of Cornwall; and that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.

Committee of Petitions.

Resolved, That Tuesday next be appointed for the Report from the Committee for Petitions.

Nominations of Sheriffs.

Resolved, That Erasmus Earle Serjeant at Law be discharged from being Sheriff of the County of Norfolk for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That John Earle Esquire be, and is hereby, nominated and approved of to be Sheriff of the County of Norffolk: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.

The Question being put, That Moses Tryan Esquire be discharged from being Sheriff of the County of Northampton for the Year ensuing;

And the Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed in the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put; It was

Resolved, That Moses Tryan Esquire be discharged of being Sheriff of the County of Northampton, for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That Peter Tryan Esquire be, and is hereby, nominated and approved of to be Sheriff for the County of Northampton: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Resolved, That Edward Doddington Esquire be discharged from being Sheriff of the County of Glamorgan, for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That Humfrey Wyndham Esquire be, and is hereby, nominated and approved of to be Sheriff of the County of Glamorgan: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Resolved, That Sir Hardolph Westneys Baronet be discharged from being Sheriff for the County of Nottingham, for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That Wm. Hickman Esquire be, and is hereby nominated and approved of to be Sheriff of the County of Nottingham: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Resolved, That Douse Fuller Esquire be discharged from being Sheriff of the County of Berks, for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That Wm. Backhowse Esquire be, and is hereby, nominated and approved of to be Sheriff of the County of Berks: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Resolved, That there be no further Change of Sheriffs for this Year.

Trade.

Resolved, That the Bill for Trade be read on this Day Sevennight.

Excise.

Captain Stone reports from the Committee to whom the same was referred, The List of all Rates of Excise, on Commodities of Inland Making or Growth:

For every Barrel of Beer or Ale, of above Six Shillings the Barrel, brewed by the common Brewer or Maker thereof, or by any other Person or Persons that brew their own Beer and Ale, and sell or tap out any Beer or Ale, whether licensed or not licensed, publickly or privately, to be paid by the said Brewer or Maker, respectively. 2 -
For every Barrel of Six Shillings Beer or Ale, and under, brewed by the common Brewer or Maker thereof, or by any other Person or Persons that brew their own Beer, whether licensed or unlicensed, publickly or privately; to be paid by the said Brewer or Maker, respectively. - 6

And so proportionably for a greater or lesser Quantity of Beer or Ale, above or under Six Shillings the Barrel.

And no Allowance to be made from henceforth, for any Beer or Ale to be used in the Fishing Vessels at Sea, which is bought of the common Brewer, or Retailer of Beer or Ale.

And upon Exportation of any Alum, English made, for Custom, over-and-above the Rates set for Custom outwards, upon like Weight, - 6

Hops foreign, the 100 Weight, containing 112£b. to be paid by the first Buyer, over-and-above Customs 5 -
Saffron English, for every 20s. Value, to be paid by the Planter 1 -
Tin, for every 20s. Value, to be paid by the Buyer 1 -
Iron English, for every 100 Weight, containing 112£b. to be paid by the Maker 1 -
For all Aqua Vitæ, or Strong-Water, made or distilled within this Commonwealth, whether of foreign or domestick Spirits, or Materials, upon every Gallon, to be paid by the first Maker - 2
For every Barrel of Soap, made within this Commonwealth, of what Sort soever, to be paid by the Maker, and so proportionably for hard, made within the Land 5 -
For every Ounce Troy of Silver or Gold, prepared, melted down, or disgrossed for Wire, to be paid at the Bar where the same shall be disgrossed - 4
For every Pound Weight, containing Sixteen Ounces Averdupois, of any Copper or other Metal that shall be prepared, made fit, or disgrossed, to be paid at the Bar where the same shall be disgrossed 1 -
For all Linseed-Oil, Whale-Oil, Blubber-Oil, Rape-Oil, Pilchard-Oil, and all other Oils within this Commonwealth, upon every Barrel, to be paid by the Maker 5 -
For every Fother of Lead, containing 2,000 Weight at 112£b. to the Hundred, to be paid by the Maker or Melter 10 -
For all Salt made or to be made within England, Wales, or Town of Barwick, which is or shall be shipped or conveyed by Water, to be paid by the first Buyer of such Salt, at the Place of landing or unlading thereof, upon every Gallon -
For all other Salt made, or to be made, within England, Wales, or Town of Berwick, and not shipped or conveyed by Water, to be paid by the first Buyer thereof, upon the first Delivery, upon every Gallon - ½
Upon all Salt upon Salt that is made of Salt, within England, Wales, or Town of Berwick, to be paid by the Maker thereof, upon every Gallon - ½
For all Sorts of Woolen Commodities, made or mixt with Wool, made and spent within this Commonwealth, for every 20s. Value thereof, and so proportionably, to be paid by the first Buyer thereof - 6
For all Sorts of Monmouth Caps, to be paid by the first Buyer - 6
For all Sorts of Hats, made of Beaver-Wool or Hair, or either, mixt or single, to be paid by the first Maker - 6
For all manner of Silks or Stuff made of or mixt with Silk, Hair or Thread; as and all Sorts of Upholstry . . . were made with this Commonwealth, and not comprehended under Old or New Drapery, as shall be spent or retailed within this Commonwealth, to be paid by the first Buyer - 6
For all Woad English, for every 100 Weight, containing 112£b. and so proportionably - 6
For all Cyder and Perry, made and sold by way of Retale, whether it be by the first Maker, or any Buyer or Receiver thereof, from the first Maker, upon every Hogshead, and so for a greater or lesser Measure proportionably 2 -
For all Metheglin or Mead, and such like Drinks, sold out by Retale, to be paid by the Retailer, upon every Gallon, and so pro rato - ½
For every Gross of Tobacco-Pipes, of whatsoever Sort to be paid by the first Buyer - 4
For all Starch upon every Twenty Shillings Value thereof, to be paid by the first Maker 1 -
For all Sorts of Glass or Glasses, upon every Twenty Shillings Value thereof, to be paid by the Maker 1 -
For every thousand of Lamperns, bought by Strangers for Bait of Cod-Fish, to be paid by the first Buyer 1 -
Resolved, by the Parliament, That every Barrel of Beer or Ale, above Six Shillings the Barrel, shall pay 2 -
