Prayers.

Temple's Estate.

ORDERED, That the Bill enabling Sir Peter Temple to sell Lands for Payment of Debts, be reported on this Day Fortnight.

Comm rs of Assessment.

Ordered, That Walter Ernley, Esquire, and Edward St. Barbe Esquire, be added Commissioners for the Assessments in the County of Wiltes.

Transactions with Portugall.

The Lord Commissioner Whitelock reports from the Council of State, The Transactions between the Council of State and the Lord Ambassador Extraordinary of the King of Portugall, in several Papers: Which were this Day read; viz. Six preliminary Articles to be agreed upon between the Council of State, on the Behalf of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of England, and the Lord Ambassador Extraordinary of the King of Portugall.

A Paper, delivered in to the Council by the Lord Ambassador Extraordinary, in Answer to the Six preliminary Articles, 8 Decembr. 1652: The original Paper of the said Lord Ambassador Extraordinary, containing his Assent to the Six preliminary Articles: A Paper touching the Sum demanded in the fourth Article, and the Manner of Payment thereof: A Paper, delivered in by the said Lord Ambassador Extraordinary, dated the Ides of December, for a Time to be appointed to begin the Treaty.

Ordered, That the Lord Ambassador Extraordinary from the King of Portugall have Audience, in Parliament, To-morrow, at Eleven of Clock.

Ordered, That Sir Oliver Fleming, Master of the Ceremonies, do give him Notice of this Vote.

Ordered, That, after the Ambassador hath had Audience To-morrow, the House do resume this Debate: And that Mr. Speaker do put the House in Mind thereof.

Scotch Affairs.

Ordered, That Sir Henry Vane, senior, Mr. Ralegh, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Lechmere, Mr. Strickland, Earl of Pembroke, Mr. Westrow, Mr. Anlaby, be added to the Committee appointed to meet with the Deputies sent from Scotland.

Ordered, That all that come to the Committee, touching the future Representatives, shall have Voices.

Resolved, That the Proportion of Members to sit in the Parliament of England for Scotland, and the Time of their Sitting, shall be ascertained in this Bill for the Union.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee, to whom the Bill for the new Representative is committed, who are to sit this Afternoon, to take Consideration both of the Number of Members of Parliament for Scotland, as well as for England and Ireland; and the Time for their Sitting; and make their Report on Friday next: And Mr. Lechmere is to take care hereof,

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to meet with the Deputies sent from Scotland be authorized and required to proceed with the Business before them, in order to the Settling of that Business with Speed: And Colonel Stapley and Mr. Hussey are added to that Committee.

WeaversHall Bills.

Ordered, That the Report be made To-morrow Morning, from the Committee appointed to consider of Weavers-Hall Bills.

Treasurers at War.

Ordered, That Colonel Downes do bring in a Bill to enable the Treasurers at War to receive and issue forth Monies.

Sale of Forests.

Ordered, That the Act for Sale of Forests be reported To-morrow Morning.

Examination of Stainer.

Mr. Scott reports from the Council of State, The Examination of Mr. Stainer; and also the Bills of Invoice, which Mr. Stainer delivered in to the Council of State.

Resolved, That Mr. Stainer be bailed; and that the Serjeant attending the Parliament do take Bail of him with Two Sureties, accordingly: And that he be bound in a Bond of One thousand Pounds, and the Two Sureties in Five hundred Pounds apiece.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, and that they be impowered to deliver back the Bills of Invoices brought to them by Mr. Stanier; they taking care that the State be not deceived.
