Representation of Officers.
THE House, this Day, resumed the Debate upon the humble Representation and Petition of the Officers of the Army.
The said humble Representation and Petition of the Officers of the Army was again read.
The Question being propounded, That this House do now proceed in the particular Proposals of the humble Representation and Petition of the Officers of the Army;
And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;
It passed with the Affirmative.
And the main Question being put; It was
Resolved, That this House do now proceed in the particular Proposals of the humble Representation and Petition of the Officers of the Army.
Resolved, &c. That this be the Answer to the first Proposal, "That the Officers of the Army have received, and from time to time shall receive, Marks of the Favour of the Parliament, and Countenance, answerable to their Merit."
Resolved, That the Words "Faithfulness and" be inserted, in the last Vote, before the Word "Merit."
So it was Resolved, &c. That this be the Answer to the First Proposal; viz. That the Officers of the Army have received, and from time to time shall receive, Marks of the Favour of the Parliament, and Countenance, answerable to their Faithfulness and Merit.
The House adjourned until Three a Clock.

Representation of Officers.
RESOLVED, &c. That this be the Answer to the Second Proposal; viz. "It is the Duty of all Persons, especially of the Members of Parliament, to inform the House of any thing which, in their Apprehension, may concern the publick Safety: And it is the undoubted Right of the Parliament, to receive and debate those Informations; to resolve what they think fit thereupon."
Ordered, That it be referred to Mr. Solicitor Reynolds, Colonel Martin, Colonel White, Mr. Scott, Colonel Morley, Colonel Thompson, Mr. Lenthall, Sir Arthur Hesilrig, Sir Henry Vane, Sir Peter Wentworth; or any Three of them; to draw an Answer to the Third Proposal, upon the Debate of the House thereupon: And are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber, at Seven a Clock To-morrow Morning; and report it forthwith to the Parliament.
