Saturday, the 6th of August, 1653.

Dick's Claims.

MR. Sadler reports from the Committee for Publick Debts, That they are of Opinion, that One thousand Pounds shall be paid unto Sir Wm. Dick, for his present Subsistence, upon Account, out of Goldsmiths-Hall, until the Matter concerning him be cleared.

Resolved, That this Sum of One thousand Pounds be paid unto Sir Wm. Dick upon Account.

Ordered, That this Sum of One thousand Pounds, to Sir William Dick, be paid unto him out of Goldsmiths-Hall: And the Commissioners for Compounding be authorized and required to give Warrant to the Treasurers of that Receipt, to make Payment of the said One thousand Pounds to the said Sir Wm. Dick, or his Assigns: And that the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Sir Wm. Dick, or his Assigns, shall be a sufficient Discharge to the said Treasurers for the same.

Publication of Proceedings, &c.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for the Poor and Justices of the Peace, to consider of and examine the Breach of the Privilege of Parliament, by printing the Proceedings of Parliament in News-Books or Pamphlets; and also to consider of the Abuse in Printing of scurrilous Ballads and Pamphlets, and seditious Books and Papers; and to examine who were the Writers, Printers, and Publishers thereof: With Power to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses; and also to examine upon Oath, if they see Cause; and make Report to the House, together with their Opinion therein to the House, for the due Execution of the former Laws in this Behalf; and, wherein the same are defective, to offer some further Remedy for the Redress of that Abuse.

Leave of Absence.

Resolved, That Colonel Duckenfield have Liberty to go into the Country for a Month.
