Prayers.
Col. Gill.
RESOLVED, by the Parliament, That Colonel Downes do make the Report, on Thursday Sevennight, concerning Colonel Gill: And that the printed Book, Intituled, "Innocency further cleared; or, The Case and Vindication of Colonel George Gill, &c." be referred to the same Committee, to consider thereof; and report their Opinion therein to the House, at the same time.
Order rescinded.
Resolved, That the Order of the Sixth of September Instant, touching the Members dining at Whitehall on the Day of Thanksgiving, be vacated, and taken off; and that the Council of State have Knowledge hereof.
Soldiers Widows, &c.
Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to consider of the Cases of such Widows and Orphans of such Persons as shall be certified by the Lord General, as have died in the Service of the Parliament at Worcester: And to consider of some fit Way how some Provision may be made for them; and report it to the House.
Lady Loftus.
Resolved, That the Lady Loftus' Petition be read on this Day Seven-night.
Invalid Soldiers, &c.
The House this Day resumed the Debate, upon the Act, providing for maimed Soldiers and Widows of Scott land and Ireland.
The Question being put, That these Words, viz. "Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, or Major of the Regiment," do stand in the Clause of the Bill touching Certificates;
It passed with the Negative.
Resolved, That the Word "their," in that Clause, be made "the."
The Question being put, That this Clause for providing of Seals for the several Regiments and Treasurers, do stand in the Bill;
It passed with the Negative.
And the said Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.
And it is Ordered, That the said Act be forthwith printed and published.
Thanks to Lord Grey.
Resolved, That the Thanks of this House be given to the Lord Grey, for his good Service done in the Battle before Worcester.
Mr. Speaker did give the Lord Grey the Thanks of this House, accordingly.
Dominion over Scotland.
The Lord Commissioner Lisle reports, An Act asserting the Title of England to Scotland: Which was this Day read the first time.
Agent from Genoua.
The Question being put, That a Committee be named to give Audience to the Agent of Genoua;
It passed with the Negative.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider of the Business that relates to Francis Barnardi, Agent from Genoua; and to do therein as they think fit: And also to look upon his Credentials; and report it to the House.
Post-Office.
Ordered, That the Order of the Twenty-first of March 1649, touching the Offices of Post-master, Inland and Foreign, be revived: And that the Council of State do report their Opinion therein to the Parliament forthwith.
State Prisoners.
Ordered, That the Information now given to the House, touching the Lieutenant of the Tower, be referred to the Council of State, to examine the Truth thereof, and to certify the same, and their Opinion therein, to the Parliament: And that the Council of State do take Care, in the mean Space, that no Resort be, by any Persons whatsoever, to the Scotts Prisoners in the Tower, without Leave of the Parliament, or of the Council.
