Prayers.
Ld. Powis.
THE humble Petition of William Lord Powis was this Day read.
Ordered, by the Parliament, That the Pension of Four Pounds by the Week be continued, and paid, unto Wm. Lord Powis, or his Assigns, out of his own Estate, until the Parliament take further Order: And that the Commissioners for Compounding do give Warrant to the Treasurers of the Receipt of Goldsmiths Hall, to pay the said weekly Pension, with the Arrears thereof due from Midsummer last past, in full Satisfaction of all Fifth Parts out of his Estate: And the Acquittance or Accquittances of the said Wm. Lord Powis, or his Assigns, shall be their sufficient Discharge for Payment thereof accordingly.
Assessment.
Ordered, That the Bill for a monthly Assessment of One hundred and Twenty thousand Pounds by the Month be read on Tuesday Morning next, the first Business.
Late King's Property.
An additional Act for Sale of the Goods belonging to the late King, Queen, and Prince, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to Mr. Holland, Mr. Garland, Mr. Challoner, Colonel Marten, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Edwards, Mr. James Challoner, Sir John Danvers, Sir John Hippisley, Alderman Pennyngton, Colonel Lister, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Nevill, Mr. Richard Darley, Mr. Hodges, Sir Peter Wentworth, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Robinson, Major General Skippon, Mr. West, Mr. Moyle; or any Five of them: And all that come, to have Voices: And are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber; and so de die in diem: And they are to bring in the same, together with the List of the late King's Servants, on Wednesday Morning next.
And the special Care hereof is referred to Mr. Holland and Mr. Garland.
Militia.
An Act of Explanation of an Act of this present Parliament, intituled, An Act for settling the Militia of this Commonwealth, declaring the same not to extend to the Isle of Wight, was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That the said Act be now read the Second time.
The said Act was read the Second time accordingly.
Resolved, That this Act do continue for Six Months; and no longer.
And the said Act was amended accordingly.
The Question being put, That this Act be committed;
It passed with the Negative.
And the Question being put, That this Act be ingrossed;
It passed with the Negative.
And the said Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.
City Petition.
Ordered, That the City Petition be taken into Consideration This-day-sevennight.
Manchester Church Estate.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Obstructions, to state the Case touching the Lands belonging to the Collegiate Church of Manchester; and to present their Opinions therein to the Parliament; and, in the mean time, to make stay of the Sale thereof, if they see Cause.
