Prayers.

Duty on Coals.

AN Act for laying an Imposition upon Coals, for the Building and Maintaining of Ships for guarding the Seas, was this Day read the Third time.

A Proviso was tendered to this Act, "That this Act continue and be in Force until the One-and-Thirtieth Day of March, which shall be in the Year of our Lord One thousand Six hundred Fifty-and-four: Which was this Day read the First and Second time.

Resolved, That the Time in the Proviso be One thousand Six hundred Fifty-and-three.

And the Proviso, being so amended, and put to the Question, was assented unto; and was ordered to be Part of the Bill.

A Proviso was tendered to this Act, "That this Act shall not extend to lay any Imposition upon any Coals employed, or to be employed in the Boiling or Making of Salt within this Commonwealth:" Which was this Day read the First time.

And the Question being put, That this Proviso be read the Second time;

It passed with the Negative.

And the said Proviso was, upon the Question, rejected.

The said Bill, being put to the Question, passed.

Ordered, That the Committee touching Colonel Sydney be revived: with the former Powers; And are to sit de die in diem: And that the Quorum be reduced to Five: And all that come to have Voices: and to report their Opinion therein to the House.

And the special Care hereof is referred to Mr. Stephens.

Ordered, That the Commander in Chief at Dover Castle be, and is hereby, authorized and required forthwith to restore both the Goods and Horses of Colonel Sydney to the said Colonel Sydney, or his Assigns: And that the Council of State do take care the same be done accordingly.

City Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of the City of London be taken into Consideration on Thursday next.

Mr. Holland reports from the Committee, Amendments to the Act enabling the Trustees for Sale of the Lands of the late King, Queen, and Prince, to give Security of the said Lands, upon several Debentures: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

The Question being propounded, That it be referred to the Committee to whom this Act was committed, to consider of all such Persons as, by Order of this House, or by Act or Ordinance of Parliament, have the Security of the Lands of the late King, Queen, and Prince, engaged for their Satisfaction; and to report their Names, and the Sums due to them, to the House.

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put;

It was Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee to whom this Act was committed, to consider of all such Persons as, by Order of this House, or by Act or Ordinance of Parliament, have the Security of the Lands, of the late King, Queen, and Prince, engaged for their Satisfaction; and to report their Names, and the Sums due to them, to the House.

And the Question being put, That the said Act, so amended, be ingrossed;

It passed with the Negative.

And the said Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.

The Question being propounded, That the Trustees for Sale of the Honours, Manors, and Lands, of the late King, Queen, and Prince, shall appoint further Time for bringing in all Debentures chargeable upon the Security of the said Lands, not exceeding Months;

And the Question being put, That the Time be, not exceeding "Six" Months;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So it passed with the Negative.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That the Time be not exceeding "Three" Months.

The House, according to former Order, adjourned itself to Tuesday Morning next, Eight of Clock.
