Prayers.

Huntington's Arrears.

ORDERED, That it be referred to the Trustees and Contractors at Worcester House, to make Stay of the Allowance of any Arrears claimed by Major Huntington, in the Purchase of any Lands, and of the Sale of any Lands, in Satisfaction of his Arrears, until this House take further Order.

Resolved, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider and examine the seditious Practices of Major Huntington against the Parliament and Commonwealth of England, at the time when the Scotts did invade this Nation; and report the same to the House.

Resolved, That this Committee shall be the Members of the Council of State that are Members of this House, or any Three of them.

Trade.

Resolved, That Mr. Speaker do take the Chair Tomorrow at Eleven of the Clock: And that then the Report be made of the Amendments to the Bill for regulating Trade, the first Business; and nothing to intervene.

Wards Lands.

An Act enabling Grantees and Lessees of Wards Lands to pass their Grants under the Great Seal of England, and to enjoy their Grants passed before the Vote of 25 Februarii 1645, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to Mr. Lechmere, Colonel Morley, Major General Skippon, Mr. Holland, Mr. Carey, Mr. Trenchard, Colonel Sidenham, Mr. Bond, Mr. Miles Corbett, Major Lister, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Leman, Colonel Martin, Colonel Ch. Flectwood, Mr. Say, Mr. Whittacre, Colonel Jones, Mr. West, Sir John Trevor, Mr. Long, Sir Henry Mildmay, Mr. R. Darley, Sir James Harrington, Mr. John Corbett, Mr. H. Darley, Mr. Goodwyn, Mr. Smyth, Colonel Temple, Mr. Gurdon; or any Five of them: And this Committee are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Court of Wards; and so de diem in diem.

And the Care hereof is committed to Mr. Lechmere.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to consider of the Arrears due from Colonel George Fleetwood, for his Wardship: And that they have Power to sett off the same in Part of the Arrears due to him for his Service; and to respite the Levying and Bringing in thereof in the mean time; And all Officers and Persons whom it may concern, are to take Notice hereof.

Preventing Invasions.

Colonel Morley reports from the Council of State;

"That it be reported to the Parliament, That this Council, upon further Consideration of their Order of the Ninth of April, referring it to this Council, by all Ways and Means that they shall think fit, to prevent all Invasions from abroad, and to preserve the Peace of this Nation from all Tumults and Insurrections whatsoever; and in pursuance of the same Order; they find it necessary, for satisfying the said Ends, that, besides that Increase of Forces formerly by them reported to the Parliament, and there approved, there should be yet this Addition; viz. That the other Four Regiments of Horse of the Standing Army be also made up to the Number of Six hundred."

"That Two new Troops of Dragoons be raised, and added to the Eight Troops of Dragoons now in being; and that every of the Ten Troops be of One hundred in a Troop."

"That Two Troops of the said Dragoons be armed and paid as Horse, for such Time as the Council shall think necessary."

"That a Troop of Horse, to consist of Eighty, be raised, for the Safety of the Isle of Wight."

"That Three Troops of Horse, of One hundred in each Troop, be raised, for the Service of the Garisons of Newcastle, Berwick, and Carlisle."

"That there be also Two new Regiments of Foot raised, each to consist of Twelve hundred, to be paid only for so long a time as the Council shall find necessary for the Service of the Commonwealth, that they be kept up and employed: Which the Council offers to the Parliament for their Approbation, if they think fit."

"And that, if the House shall approve hereof, they will please to give Order to the Committee of the Army to receive them into Pay, as they receive Signification thereof from the Council: And Colonel Morley is desired to make this Report."

Resolved, That this House doth agree, That these additional Forces, in the manner as they are now proposed, shall be added to the Army; and paid by the Committee of the Army, as they receive Signification thereof from the Council of State.

Plymouth Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of the Inhabitants of Plymouth be read, and taken into Consideration on Thursday Fortnight.

Impropriations, &c.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to state the Matter of Fact touching the Manors, and Demesnes of such Manors, belonging to any Impropriations formerly belonging to any Dean and Chapter, or any Three of them, do meet To-morrow Morning at Eight of Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And Mr. Hussey, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Reynolds, and Mr. Martin, are added to that Committee: And all that come are to have Voices.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to consider how the several yearly Sums of Money charged at large upon the Revenues of the late Bishops, and Dean and Chapter, for pious Uses, may be ascertained and fixed for the Benefit of those pious Uses, and the greatest Advantage to the Commonwealth: And the Committee are to give an Account to the House, of what shall be done in both or either of these Businesses, on Thursday next.

Delinquents Estates.

Major Salwey reports Amendments to the Bill for such as hold the Estate of any Delinquent, by Mortgage, Judgment, or Statute, to compound for that Estate: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed.

Resolved, That the Time, in this Bill, be the Thirtieth of June.

Ordered, That this Bill, so amended, be ingrossed.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for Sale of Delinquents Lands is committed, do meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And all that come to have Voices.

Resolved, That all such Delinquents who, having compounded for their Delinquency, and for Non-payment of their Second Moiety, have incurred the Penalty formerly imposed, and shall pay in their said Second Moiety, with Interest for the same from the time since the same should have been paid, by the First Day of June next, shall be discharged from the said Penalty; but, in Default of Payment thereof by that time, the Moiety of the Estate for which every such Delinquent hath compounded, shall, from thenceforth, be consiscate to the Use of the Commonwealth: And that the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents do take care that this Vote be put in effectual Execution.

Resolved, That this Vote be forthwith printed and published.
