Observation of Lord's Day.

ORDERED, by the Parliament, That Mr. Millington bring in the Act for due Observation of the Lords day This-day-sevennight.

Ministers Maintenance.

An additional Act for Providing of Maintenance for Preaching Ministers, and other pious Uses, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Alderman Allen, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Rowse, Mr. Attorney General, Sir Henry Myldmay, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Richard Darley, Mr. Hodges, Mr. Bond, Mr. Aldworth, Sir William Masham, Major General Skippon, Mr. Garland, Colonel Venn, Mr. Millington, Colonel Feilder, Mr. Masham, Mr. Henry Darley, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. John Corbett, Mr. Lister, Major Salway, Mr. Pury, Mr. Salway, Colonel Harvey, Sir Wm. Brereton; or any Five of them: And all that come, to have Voices: And this Committee is to meet in the Queen's Court, this Afternoon at Two of the Clock: And Mr. Weaver is to take care hereof: And to be brought in on This-day-sevennight.

Gunvile and Caius College.

Sir Henry Myldmay reports from the Committee for Reformation of the University of Cambridge, the Order of that Committee, touching the Regulating of Gunvile and Caius College, in the University of Cambridge.

"Upon the humble Petition of the Master and Fellows of Gunvile and Caius College, in the University of Cambridge, representing the many and great Inconveniences arising to the said Society from the Smallness of some late additional Fellowships, and the Shortness of Allowance for Scholars, not sufficient for the Help and Encouragement of Youth in the Prosecution of their Studies; together with their humble Desire, That the whole Revenue belonging to both may be assigned for the Maintenance of Fifty Scholars only; This Committee thereupon referring the Examination of the Premises to the Visitors of the University, and the Heads of Colleges, who certified the Truth of the said Representation, and the Benefit that may arise from better Regulating of the said Society; Upon the Consideration of the said Petition, and upon full Debate of the whole Matter, do order, That the Regulating of the said College, according to the Desire of the Petitioners, be reported to the House, as a Work very suitable to the intended Reformation; and very much tending to the Advancement of Learning, and the general Good of the Commonwealth."

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for regulating the Universities, to prepare and bring in an Act for the better Regulation of the said College of Gunvill and Caius, in pursuance of that Report: And they are to bring in the same on This-day-sevennight.

Bristoll, &c. Ministers.

Mr. Aldworth reports Amendments to an Act for the better Preaching of the Gospel, and Maintenance of the Ministers in the City of Bristoll: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be ingrossed, and brought in This-day-sevennight.

Ordered, That the like Act be brought in This-daysevennight, for the better Preaching of the Gospel, and Maintenance for Ministers in Stamford.

Ordered, That the like Act be brought in This-daysevennight, for the better Preaching of the Gospel, and Maintenance of Ministers, in Winchester.

Ordered, That the like Act be brought in This-daysevennight, for the better Preaching of the Gospel, and Maintenance of Ministers, in Cambridge.

Ordered, That the like Act be brought in This daysevennight, for the better Preaching of the Gospel, and Maintenance of Ministers, in the City of Lincoln.

Ordered, That the like Act be brought in This-daysevennight, for the better Preaching of the Gospel, and Maintenance of Ministers, in the City of Exeter.

Ordered, That the like Act be brought in This-daysevennight, for Herefordshire (as to the Advancement of the Gospel only) as was formerly brought in for Wales.

And that Colonel Harrison take care thereof.

London Poor.

An Act for settling certain Houses upon the President and Governor of the Corporation for the Poor of the City of London, and Liberties thereof, was this Day read the Third time.

A Clause was tendered to the Bill, in these Words; viz. "Saving to all and every Person and Persons, Bodies Politick and Corporate, other than the late King, his Heirs and Successors:" Which was read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be Part of the Bill.

The Question being propounded, That this Bill do now pass as a Law;

And the Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the Bill, being put to the Question, passed.
