Prayers.

Purefoy's Claims.

THE humble Petition of Colonel William Purefoy, a Member of Parliament, was this Day read.

Ordered, That, in respect of the great Losses of Colonel Wm. Purefoy, in the Burning of Part of his House by Prince Rupert and Prince Maurice, and otherwise, the said Colonel William Purefoy have the Sum of One thousand Pounds, out of the real and personal Estate of such Delinquents who have not compounded at a true Value, as he shall discover to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall; as also out of the real and personal Estate of such concealed Delinquents, as he shall make Discovery of to the Committee of Haberdashers Hall: And the said Committees respectively are to proceed upon such Discoveries, and to make Payment, out of the same, of the said One thousand Pounds to the said Colonel Purefoy accordingly: And the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Colonel William Purefoy, or his Assigns, for the said One thousand Pounds, or any Part thereof, shall be a sufficient Discharge to the Treasurers of the said Committees, and either of them; and to such other Person and Persons as shall pay the same.

Mitton's Petition.

The humble Petition of Colonel Thomas Mitton, was this Day read.

Ordered, That all Process issued out for Payment of the Sum of One thousand Pounds, or thereabouts, charged upon Colonel Thomas Mitton for the Wardship of Colonel Pope, and all Proceedings thereupon, be stayed, until this House take further Order: And that the Barons of the Exchequer, Sheriffs of the several Counties, and all Officers and Ministers of the Court of Exchequer, are to take notice hereof; and to stay Process accordingly.

The Question being propounded, That the Sum of Two thousand Pounds be paid unto Colonel Thomas Mitton, upon Account;

It passed with the Negative.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to take Consideration of the Petition of Colonel Thomas Mitton; and to state the Business; and report it to the House.

Grant to Ly. Beamont.

Ordered, That the Sum of Twenty Shillings per Week be allowed and paid unto Dame Mary Beamont Widow, late Wife of Sir Jeremiah Beamont Knight, deceased, for her present Maintenance and Subsistence, until this House take further Order: And that the same be charged upon Haberdashers Hall: And the Committee at Haberdashers Hall, and their Treasurers, are hereby authorized and required to make Payment thereof accordingly.

Winchester City Officers.

An Act for constituting and appointing Edmond Riggs Mayor of the City of Winchester, and Mr. William Howard, John Woodman, and John Complyn, Aldermen of the said City, and John Cook and John Hildersley Esquires, Thomas Riggs Gentleman, Thomas Muspratt, Edward Hooker, Anthony Yarden, and John Campion, Benchers of the same City, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, passed.

Army.

Ordered, That the County Troop, within the County of Oxon, under the Command of Captain Smith, ..... and be continued for Six Months, under the Commission and Command of the General, as formerly: And that the Committee of Goldsmiths Hall be authorized and required to issue Warrants unto Mr. Appletree and Mr. Draper, Two of the Committee of the County of Oxon, for the Receiving of the Profits of the said Sequestrations within that County, for Payment of the said Troop, during the Time aforesaid: And that the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Thomas Appletree and William Draper shall be a sufficient Discharge unto such Person and Persons as shall pay any Sum or Sums of Money, according to such Warrant from the said Committee at Goldsmiths Hall: And the Committee for the County of Oxon are required to give Order, and take care, that the said Troop do secure the Highways and Passages within that County, and the Parts adjacent, from Thieves and Robbers.

Ordered, That it be specially recommended to the General, to give out Orders to his Officers of Horse, That the Horse under their Command be serviceable for securing the Highways and Passages from Thieves and Robbers, and for apprehending of such Thieves and Robbers: And that they, being so apprehended, together with what shall be taken in their Custody, be brought before some Justice or Justices of the Peace, or other Magistrate, to be proceeded against according to Law.

Cambridge University.

Ordered, That a Commission do issue, under the Great Seal of England, for the Visitation of the University of Cambridge, to such Persons as the Committee for regulating the said University shall nominate and appoint: And that Mr. Attorney General be authorized and required to prepare a Commission in common Form to that Purpose: And the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal be authorized and required to pass the same under the Great Seal accordingly.

Lister's Claims.

The humble Petition of Thomas Lister Esquire, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Sum of a Thousand Pounds be paid unto Thomas Lister Esquire, out of the Sequestrations of Lincolnshire, by the Order of the Committee of Goldsmiths Hall: And that the Sum of Two thousand Pounds more be paid unto the said Mr. Lister, out of the real and personal Estates of such Delinquents who have compouded at Under-values, or have not at all compounded, as shall be by him discovered at Goldsmiths Hall and Haberdashers Hall respectively: And that the said Committees be authorized and required respectively to proceed upon such Discoveries; and to make Payment, out of the same, upon the said Mr. Lister accordingly: And the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Mr. Lister, or his Assigns, shall be a sufficient Discharge to the said Committee of Goldsmiths Hall, and their Treasurers, for the said Sum of One thousand Pounds, and likewise to the said respective Committees, and their Treasurers respectively, for the said Two thousand Pounds, or any Part thereof as he shall receive, upon such Discoveries, as aforesaid.

Westminster College.

Ordered, That Colonel Fielder do make Report touching Westminster College, on Tuesday next, the first Business.

Sir T. Jervois, &c.

Ordered, That the Acts for Sir Thomas Jervois and Mr. Wallop be reported To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Religious Toleration.

An Act for Relief of tender Consciences against the Penalties of several Statutes was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the same Committee: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber; and to be brought in on Tuesday next.

Norwich City.

Ordered, That the Mayor, Sheriffs, Aldermen, and Common Council of the City of Norwich be authorized and enabled, for Prevention of future Mischiefs that may happen in that City by any disorderly and disaffected Persons, to appoint such extraordinary Watches, either constantly, or upon emergent Occasions, as may appear to them to be necessary; and to impose such Rates and Taxes upon such Persons as shall refuse to yield Obedience to their Orders therein, or shall not be adjudged fit, in respect of their Malignity, to be intrusted therein themselves, as shall be needful for the Satisfaction of such well-affected Persons as shall be employed in that Service of Watching and Warding, in their stead: And that Colonel Wastall do bring in an Act for that Purpose.
