Prayers.

Sir. J. Wolstenholme.

A LETTER from the General, touching Sir John Wolstenholme, of the Fifteenth of July 1649, was this Day read.

Resolved, &c. That, at the Desire and Request of the General, this House doth freely remit the Composition of Sir John Wolstenholme, for his Delinquency.

And it is Ordered, That the Sequestration of the Estate of the said Sir John Wolstenholme be, from henceforth, wholly taken off, and absolutely discharged: And the Commissioners for Compositions at Goldsmiths Hall, and all other Committees for Sequestrations, and their Agents, are required to take notice hereof; and yield Obedience thereunto accordingly.

Late King's Servants.

The House proceeded in the reading the List of the Servants of the late King, Queen, and their Children.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider what Persons, named in this List, have left the Service of the King, and remain here, and have, since that Time, served the Parliament; and report them to the House.

Ordered, That the same Committee do take Consideration of, and report to the House, the Names of such of those Persons as are most necessitous, and require present Relief.

Ordered, That the same Committee do take into Consideration what Persons, named in this List, did remain here, but did not actually serve the Parliament; and their Conditions and Necessities; and, amongst them, to examine how they have expressed any Affection; and take Notice of their Service or Disservice to the Parliament; and report it to the House.

Sir II. Mildmay.

Ordered, That Sir Henry Mildmay, or his Assigns, be admitted to come in for the Two thousand Pounds which he was compelled to lend to the King, before he left the Parliament, for which he hath Three Tallies, and a Privy Seal; together with Interest for the same, by way of Doubling upon the Lands of the late Deans and Chapters: And that the said Sir Henry Mildmay, or his Assigns, shall have the like Benefit and Advantages as any other Persons that come in by way of Doubling upon that Act: And the Trustees, Treasurers, and Register Accomptant, are to take notice hereof; and admit him or them accordingly.

Ordered, That this Committee have Power to receive Information in the Particulars aforesaid, by Certificate from the Committees in the County, or any other Ways.

Late King's Servants.

A List of the late King's domestick Servants, belonging to the Chamber, and were swern in ordinary before his going from Whitehall, and attended abroad, being rated at Two Parts of Three of their Wages and Board Wages, and of other Servants included within Articles.

Ordered, That this List be re-committed: And the said Committee are to return what, and how much, hath been already given to the Parties contained in the said List; and report their Opinions therein, what they think fit further to be done for them.

Ordered, That, as to the Widows and Orphans of such of the late King's Servants, as continued with the Parliament, and died in the Parliament's Quarters, to whom Money was owing; it is referred to the Trustees in the Act for Sale of the late King's, Queen's, and Prince's Goods, to consider of them, and their Conditions, according to the said Act; and to present their Cases to the House.

Sir Henry Vane senior reports a List of such Persons, that have been paid some Part of their Pensions, in regard of their great Necessities.

The humble Petition of Wm. Viscount Mounson, a Member of the House, was this Day read.

The Question being propounded, That this House doth approve of the Debt of Four thousand Five hundred Pounds, due for Arrears of the Pension due to the Countess of Nottingham, late Wife of the Petitioner;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So the Question passed with the Negative.

The humble Petition of David Ramsey Esquire, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Petition of David Ramsey be referred to the Trustees for Sale of the King's Goods; to examine the Business; and report their Opinions therein to the House.

Ordered, That the Petition of John Clarke and Richard Clarke, Surveyors and Keepers of the Store in the Armoury Office, with many other poor Workmen belonging to the said Office, be referred to the Committee at Haberdashers Hall, to examine the Business; and report their Opinions therein to the House.

Ordered, That Henry Middleton Esquire, the Serjeant at Arms attending the Great Seal of England, be referred to the Committee at Haberdashers Hall: And that the said Committee do pay all such Arrears as shall appear to be due to him as Servant to the late King, out of such Discoveries as he shall make of Delinquents unto the said Committee.

Southwark Militia.

An Act for settling the Militia of the Borough of Southwark, and Parishes adjacent mentioned in the weekly Bills of Mortality, on the South Side the River Thames, in the County of Surrey, with the Names of the Persons intrusted therewith, was this Day read the First and Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Names of Francis Allen, John Trenchard, Esquires; Wm. Wyberd, * White, Wm. Butler and James How, Gentlemen; be inserted into this Act.

And the Act, being so amended, was, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be printed and published.
