Prayers.

Crown Lands.

COLONEL Harrison reports a Proviso, excepting several Parks, Castles, Houses, and Timber, out of the Act for securing the Soldiers Arrears; and that the said Act extend not thereunto.

Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed, upon the whole Debate now had in this House, unto Major General Ireton, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Boone, Mr. Darley, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Myles Corbett, Mr. Bond, Major Salway, Mr. Goodwyn, Mr. Pury, Colonel Rich, Colonel Martyn, Mr. Challener, Mr. Humfrey Edwards, Sir William Allanson, Colonel Venn, Mr. Allen, Colonel Bosvile, Major General Skippon, Mr. Aldworth, Mr. Oldsworth, Colonel Lassels, Colonel Feilder, Mr. Toll, Sir John Danvers, Mr. Garland, Colonel Fleetwood; or any Five of them: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And bring it in, the first Business, on Monday Morning, nothing to intervene.

And the more particular care hereof is referred to Colonel Harrison, and Mr. Boone.

Resolved, That next, after the Word "Whitehall," the Mewes, Scotland Yard, the Cockpit, and Tilt Yard, with their and every of their Appurtenances, be inserted into this Proviso.

Publick Fast.

Ordered, That the Orders, made Yesterday, appointing Wednesday next to be a Day set apart for Publick Fasting and Humiliation within London and Westminster, and the late Lines of Communication, and Bills of Mortality; and Wednesday, the First of August, to be a Day set apart for Publick Fasting and Humiliation in all other Cities, Towns, and Places, in England and Wales, be forthwith printed and published: And that Mr. Attorney General do take care to see, that the said Order be sent to the Sheriffs of the several Counties of this Commonwealth, to be published, that the same may be carefully observed and kept in all Places.

Relief of Debtors.

Ordered, That the Act for the poor Prisoners for Debt be reported on Thursday Morning next, the first Business.

Killingworth Castle.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider of the Demolishing or Keeping up of Killingworth Castle; and report their Opinions therein to this House.

Garisons.

Mr. Pury reports from the Committee of the Army, That some Establishment . . . . for the Garisons and Castles in England and Wales, and Town of Barwick, which was committed to them.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth allow the Committee of the Army to make Payment of the several Sums of Money to the several Garisons and Castles, according to the said Establishment proposed.

Artillery.

Mr. Pury likewise reports from the Lord General, Officers to be continued in the Train of Artillery; viz. a Chief Engineer, One; Gunners, Ten; Matrosses, Thirty; Draught Horses, Sixty; a Quartermaster, One: Waggoners, Twenty-four; A Commissary of Ammunition, One; Assistants for him, Two; Conductors, Three; Lieutenant General of the Ordnance.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve, that the said Officers be continued in the Train of Artillery.

Publick Claimants.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in upon the Ordinances of the Thirteenth of January 1647, and of the Fifth of June 1648, for raising Fifty thousand Pounds for Ireland, the Sum of Five hundred Pounds be allowed and paid unto Sir William Parsons upon Accompt.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in upon the said Ordinances, &c. the Sum of Four hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to Sir Robert Meredith, upon Accompt.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in by the said Ordinances, the Sum of Two hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to Sir Gerard Lowther, upon Accompt.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in by the said Ordinances, the Sum of Two hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to Sir Paul Davies, upon Accompt.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in by the said Ordinances, the Sum of Two hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to Sir James Barry, upon Accompt.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in by the said Ordinances, the Sum of Two hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to Sir William Fenton, upon Accompt.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in by the said Ordinances, the Sum of Five hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to the Lord Broghyll, upon Accompt.

The humble Petition of Sir Henry Titchborne Knight, was this Day read.

Ordered, That, out of the Rents and Monies coming in upon the Ordinances of the Thirteenth of January 1647, and of the Fifth of June 1648, for raising Fifty thousand Pounds for Ireland, the Sum of Two hundred Pounds be allowed and paid to Sir Henry Titchborne, upon Accompt.

Irish Officers.

A List of such Officers who have deserted the Lord Inchequine, and are engaged now for the present Service of Ireland; but are retarded, by reason of their Accompts being long since stated, and approved of but not yet reported; are disabled to supply themselves with several Necessaries, to attend the Lord Lieutenant in this Expedition.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to order such Sum of Money, as they shall think fit, to be paid to such Person as the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland shall appoint, to be distributed amongst such Officers, who, having deserted the Lord Inchequin, and are engaged now for the present Service of Ireland; for the better furnishing themselves for this Service, in such Sort, and by such Proportions, as the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland shall think fit and direct, so as the said Sum do not exceed One thousand Pounds.

The humble Petition of the Officers, now engaged for Ireland, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee who are to consider what Things are fit to be done before Adjournment: Who are to consider thereof; and to sit de die in diem; and to report their Opinions therein to this House, what therein is thought necessary to be done, in order to the Things contained in this Petition before the Adjournment: And all that come to have Voices.

Ordered, That this House, taking Notice of the good Affections of the Petitioners shewed in this Petition, and in their Undertakings for Ireland, doth give the Petitioners the very hearty Thanks of this House: And that the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland be desired to return the hearty Thanks of this House to them accordingly.

Ordered, That this Petition, and the Votes thereupon, be forthwith printed and published.

Religious Toleration.

Mr. Holland reports Amendments to an Act for Relief of religious peaceable People from Rigour of former Acts of Parliament, in Matters of Religion: Which were this Day read the First and Second time: And, upon the Question, the Bill, with the said Amendments, was recommitted to the same Committee: And all that come to have Voices: And that the Committee do fit in the Exchequer Chamber, on Monday at Two of Clock in the Afternoon.
