Prayers.

Committees of Assessment.

ORDERED, That Sir John Pitman, William Gore, James Tutt, Thomas Dowse of Elden, William Collyns, Sir John Compton, Thomas Gale, Moore Fantleroy, Edward Hayes, Edward Hooper, Henry Bromfeild, Richard Cromwell, George Wither, John Faulkner, Gentlemen, be added to the Committee for the Assessment of Ninetythousand Pounds per mensem for the County of Southampton.

Ordered, That Mr. * Legg, and Mr. * Wavell, be added to the Committee for the Assessment of Ninety thousand Pounds per mensem in the Isle of Wight.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That Major Salwey, Colonel Rich, and Colonel Marten, do presently withdraw; and pen an Order, touching Soldiers Doubling upon Deans and Chapters Lands, for their Arrears due to them, according to the Debate in the House.

Resolved, &c. That such as come in, and double, before the Twentieth of July next, shall have Eight Pounds per Centum Interest for the Money they pay in, from the Time they pay in their Money.

Earl of Denbigh's Claims.

The humble Petition of Basil Earl of Denbigh was this Day read; together with an Account of the Arrears due to him, as well upon his Embassy into Italie, as upon his Pension of One thousand Marks per Annum, granted unto him by the late King.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee that brought in the Act for Sale of the Goods of the late King, &c.; to take this Petition into Consideration: and consider what is fit to be done therein; and present their Opinion to the House with all Speed.

Bulstrode's Accompts.

The humble Petition of Colonel Thomas Bulstrode was this Day read.

Alderman Pennyngton reports from the Committee of the Three associated Counties of Oxon, Bucks, and Berks, sitting in the Inner Star Chamber, the State of the Accompt of Colonel Thomas Bulstrode.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve of this Accompt of One thousand Six hundred and Twelve Pounds Four Shillings and Six pence, due to Colonel Thomas Bulstrode, for his own and his Father's Service in the late Wars; and for Monies disbursed, by his Father and himself, for the Parliament's Service, for Pay of Soldiers and Gunners, making of Fortifications, and providing of Ammunition, and other Necessaries for War, in Annis 1642 and 1643, the Sum of One thousand Forty-and-five Pounds and Eight Shillings: In toto, due and arrear to the said Colonel Thomas Bulstrode, Two thousand Six hundred and Fifty-seven Pounds Twelve Shillings and Six-pence.

Resolved, &c. That the said Colonel Thomas Bulstrode have the Publick Faith, for the Sum of One thousand-Forty-five Pounds and Eight Shillings.

Resolved, &c. That Colonel Thomas Bulstrode be admitted to come in for the said One thousand-Forty-and-five Pounds and Eight Shillings upon the Sale of Dean and Chapters Lands, by way of doubling, in such Sort as other Persons have liberty to do by the Act: And the Trustees, Contractors, and Register Accomptant, are injoined to take Notice hereof; and to admit him accordingly.

Resolved, &c. That Colonel Thomas Bulstrode be admitted to come in for the One thousand Six hundred and Twelve Pounds Four Shillings, due to him upon Account of his Arrears, by way of doubling upon the Deans and Chapters Lands, without any Interest to be allowed for this Sum of One thousand Six hundred and Twelve Pounds Four Shillings and Sixpence; but Interest to be allowed him for the One thousand Six hundred and Twelve Pounds Four Shillings and Six-pence, so paid in by way of Doubling, from the Time he shall pay in the same: And the Trustees, Contractors, and Register Accomptants, are to admit him thereunto accordingly.

Marten's Claims.

The humble Petition of Henry Marten Esquire, a Member of this House, was this Day read.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to a Committee to take Consideration of the said Petition; and to examine and ascertain his Accompts; and state what is due to him from the State, as well for his Arrears, as otherwise; and also what Loss and Damages he hath sustained, by reason of his good Affections to the Publick; and what way Satisfaction may be made unto him for the same; and to report their Opinions to the House forthwith:

Lord Commissioner Lisle, Sir James Harrington, Colonel Wauton, Lord Commissioner Whitelock, Mr. Scott, Mr. Bond, Mr. Lister, Mr. Holland, Colonel Rich, Lord Grey, Mr. Long, Lord Mounson, Mr. Smyth, Mr. Hussey, Mr. Darley, Colonel Temple, Mr. Blagrave, Sir Gregory Norton, Mr. Edwards, Colonel Fleetwood, Colonel Purefoy, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Lenthall; or any Three of them: And the Committee are to meet, on Monday at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Court of Wards.

Rainborow's Family.

Mr. Holland reports an Act for Lands of Three thousand Pounds Value, of the late Deans and Chapters, upon doubling the like Sum, unto Major Wm. Rainborough, and Captain Stephen Winthrop, their Heirs, in Trust for the Widow of Colonel Thomas Rainborow, and her Children, &c.

Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and One Amendment made at the Table.

The said Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.

Relief of Creditors.

Mr. Reynolds reports from the Committee for the Act touching Prisoners, by way of Amendments to that Act, an Act for the more speedy and effectual Relief of Creditors.

Which Amendments were this Day read the First and Second time: and, upon the Question, re-committed to the same Committee: And that the said Committee be revived; and do meet this Afternoon; and so de die in diem: And that it be brought in again on Tuesday next.

Ordered, That the Bill touching Prisoners be brought in the same Day; and reported before the Bill for Relief of Creditors.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Major Salwey reports an additional Instruction for the Trustees and Contractors for Deans and Chapters Lands.

Which was read; and, upon the Question, resolved as followeth;

An additional Instruction to the Trustees, Contractors, Treasurers, and all others concerned in the Sale of Deans and Chapters Lands.

The Liberty to be given to all Officers and Soldiers, who have Money due to them in Arrear from this Commonwealth, for their Service in the late Wars, to double the same upon Deans and Chapters Lands, in such manner, and with the same Advantages, as others are admitted to double, as well by their Assignees, as themselves: Provided, That such Arrears be stated and allowed of by the Committee for the Army, or by any other Committee or Commissioners appointed, by Authority of Parliament, for that Purpose: And that, for the Moiety to be advanced in ready Money, Interest to be allowed at the Rate of Eight Pounds per Centum, to all that shall desire to double, and do pay in their Money before the Twentieth of July next; and for the other Moiety, no Interest to be allowed.

Ordered, That this Instruction be forthwith printed and published.

Ordered, That the Act for the Accompts of the Kingdom be brought in on Monday Morning next, the first Business.
