Leave of Absence.

ORDERED, That Mr. Lechmere have Leave to go the Circuit.

Dissents to Vote Dec. 5.

Mr. Whitacre reports from the Committee appointed to take the Dissents and Disapprovals of the Members of this House to the Vote of 5 Decembris last, That Mr. Lillibone Long doth disapprove of the said Vote: That Mr. Dormer doth disapprove of the Vote of the Fifth of December last: That Mr. West doth disapprove of the Vote of 5 Decembris last.

Durham Petitions.

Ordered, That, the Petitions of the County of Durham, and of the County of Northumberland, be referred to the Committee to whom the Ordinance for abolishing of Deans and Chapters, &c. is committed.

Judges Patent, &c.

The Form of a Patent for constituting John Eltonhead, Serjeant at Law, Justice of the Counties of Glamorgan, Brecon, and Radnor, within the Principality of Wales, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

The Form of a Commission to Judges Delegates, giving them Power to determine the Causes of Appeals, depending undetermined at the late King's Death, in the Court of Delegates, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto: And

Ordered, That this Commission, and other like Commissions of course, such as the Commissioners of the Great Seal shall approve of, be made forth, and passed, by the Commissioners of the Great Seal.

Chester, &c. Courts of Justice.

Mr. Whitlock, Mr. Miles, Corbett, Mr. Love, Mr. Say, Colonel Fenwick, Mr. Tho. Challener, Mr. Blakiston, Sir Henry Vane junior, Commissary General Ireton, Sir John Bourchier, Sir Arthur Haslerigg, Mr. Lisle, Sir Wm. Allanson, Mr. Smith, Mr. Anlaby;

This Committee, or any Three of them, are to consider, now the Courts of Justice, and the Assizes to be held in the County Palatine of Chester, Dutchy of Lancaster, and in the County of Durham, may be settled in the best Manner, for the Good of the Commonwealth: And are to meet this Afternoon at Two a Clock, in the Queen's Court.

Publick Goods.

Lieutenant General Cromwell reports from the Council of State, That divers Goods belonging to the State are in Danger to be imbeziled: Their Opinion for preserving Timber for publick Uses.

Library, &c. at St. James.

Ordered, That the Care of the publick Library at St. James', and of the Statue and Pictures there, be committed to the Council of State, to be preserved by them: And that the said Council of State be, and are hereby, impowered to dispose of such of them as are for the present Service of the State, as they shall think fit.

Parks, &c.

Ordered, That the Council of State be authorized and required to take care for the preserving the Wood and Timber growing upon any the Parks, Forests, Chases, and other the Lands belonging to this Commonwealth, from Spoil, Waste or Imbezilment; and to give Order for the Fall of Timber, at due Seasons, and in convenient Proportions, for the building and repairing the Ships belonging to this Commonwealth, and for such other publick Uses, as they shall judge necessary; and to appoint Surveyors, Woodwards, and other Officers and Workmen, to execute their Orders for the respective Purposes before mentioned.

Lord High Admiral, &c.

An Act for repealing the Ordinance and Letters Patents for constituting Robert Earl of Warwick Lord High Admiral of England; and for constituting Commissioners for the Admiralty of England; was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Solicitor, Commissary General Ireton; or any Two of them: Who are to withdraw, and forthwith to bring the same in again.

Resolved, &c. That the Power of the Admiralty be settled in the Council of State, authorized by Order of Parliament.

Great Seal.

Ordered, That Bulstrode Whitlock, one of the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal, have his Salary of Two hundred Fifty Pounds, due for the last Term, forthwith paid unto him: And that the Committee of the Revenue do forthwith pay the same to him accordingly.

Westminster, &c. Militia.

Ordered, That the several Acts for settling the Militias of Westminster, and the Tower, be read on Saturday next.

Impressing Seamen.

An Act for the Encouragement of Officers and Mariners, and impresting Seamen, was this Day read the Third time; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be forthwith printed and published: And that the Council of State do take care, that the same be sent to the several Ports within the Kingdom of England, and Dominion of Wales.

Lord High Admiral, &c.

Mr. Miles Corbett reports Amendments to the Act for repealing the Ordinance and Letters Patents for constituting Robert Earl of Warwick Lord High Admiral; and for settling the Power of the Admiralty in the Council of State, authorized by Authority of Parliament: Which Amendments were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

Ordered, That the said Act be ingrossed; and brought in To-morrow Morning.

Naval Martial Law.

Ordered, That Commissary General Ireton do prepare, and bring in, an Act concerning Martial Law to be exercised at the Sea, by the Commissioners commanding the Fleet.

Navy.

Ordered, That the Business concerning Captain Ingle to be Captain of the Ship Warwick, be referred to Colonel Blake, Colonel Popham, and Colonel Deane, Three of the Commissioners to go to Sea in the next Summer's Fleet; to examine the Business; and to order it, as they shall see Cause.
