Colchester.

ORDERED, That the Letters from the General, from Colchester, with the Articles and Explanation, and other Letters concerning that Business, be delivered, by the Clerk of this House, to the Clerk of the High Court of Justice.

Weavers.

Ordered, That the Act touching Weavers be read again on Tuesday.

Seals of Courts.

Ordered, That the Seal of the Admiralty, which hath this Inscription Sigillum ad causas supremas curiæ admiralitatis Angliæ, do stand as it doth.

Ordered, That the other Seal of the Admiralty, which hath this Inscription, Sigillum magnum supremæ curiæ suæ majestatis admiralitatis Angliæ, shall be as it is; saving that these Words, "suæ majestatis," be omitted.

Ordered, That the Seal of the Prerogative Court be made with the Arms of England, with this Inscription, Sigillum curiæ prerogativæ.

Ordered, That the Seal for Statutes have this Inscription; viz. Sigillum recognitionum pro debitis recuperandis.

And that the English Arms be engraved in the middle of the said Seal.

Ordered, That the Seal Pro certificationibus be made with the English Arms engraved in the middle thereof, with this Inscription, Pro certificationibus.

Embassy from Holland.

Ordered, That Thursday next be appointed to give Answer to the States Ambassadors: And that the Master of the Ceremonies give them Notice hereof.

Oath by Freemen.

The Oath to be taken by every Freeman of the City of London was now read.

Ordered, That it be committed to Mr. Martyn, Mr. Say, Colonel Harvey, Sir John Danvers, Sir Wm. Allinson, Alderman Wilson, Sir Henry Mildmay, Sir Michael Livesey, Alderman Penington, Alderman Atkins, Mr. Frye, Mr. Miles Corbett, Sir John Bourchier, or any Three of them, to consider of what Alterations are fit to be made in the said Oath; and present the Form of an Oath to the House.

And this Committee is to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Committee Chamber.

Prices of Corn, &c.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider of, and present to the House, some way to keep the Prices of Corn, and other Provisions, for the Poor, at reasonable Rates; and how there may be further Provision made for the Poor.

Sir Henry Myldmay, Sir Wm. Brereton, Alderman Penington, Colonel Bosvile, Sir James Harrington, Alderman Atkins, Mr. Dove, Sir John Danvers, Mr. Clement, Sir Wm. Allinson, Mr. Whittacre, Alderman Wilson, Sir William Masham, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Holland, Mr. Garland, Mr. Gurdon;

This Committee is to meet on Monday next in the Exchequer Chamber: And the more special Care hereof is referred to Mr. Weaver and Mr. Garland.

Trying Earl Cambridge, &c.

Resolved, &c. That the Seats and Places formerly appointed for the Sitting of the Members of this House near the High Court of Justice, be kept for the said Members: And that the Keys thereof be delivered to the Serjeant at Arms attending this House.

Issue for Ireland.

Sir John Danvers reports from the Committee of Lords and Commons, for the Affairs of Ireland, at Derby House, their Desire, That Two thousand Six hundred Pounds of the Forty thousand Pounds, out of the Monies at Weavers Hall, appointed for the Service of Ireland; which Two thousand Six hundred Pounds was afterwards, by both Houses, appointed to be lent to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall; for the present satisfying what was to be paid to the Lord of Ormond, out of the Monies of Goldsmiths Hall; which were not then in Readiness to satisfy the same, according to the Engagement, with Provision, that the same should be paid back to the Service of Ireland, out of the first Monies that should come into Goldsmiths Hall, not then disposed of; that the said Two thousand Six hundred Pounds may be forthwith paid by the said Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, to Sir Adam Loftus Treasurer at Wars, to be by him disposed, as the said Committee should appoint for the Service of Ireland.

Ordered, That the said Two thousand Six hundred Thirty-eight Pounds be forthwith paid by the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, to Sir Adam Loftus, Treasurer at Wars, to be by him disposed, as the said Committee of Lords and Commons for the Affairs of Ireland, at Derby House, shall appoint for the Service of Ireland.

Army.

A Letter from the General, with a Petition inclosed, from divers Forces of Horse and Foot, under Major General Lambert, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee of the Army, to consider of what is satisfied to the said Petitioners; and to audite and state their Accompts: And to report their Opinion upon the said Petition on Tuesday next.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve what Major General Lambert hath done in disbanding the Forces in the North, mentioned in the Lord General's Letter: And that a Letter of Thanks be sent unto him, for his good Service therein.

Seals of Courts.

An Act for the Alteration of the several Seals of the Upper Bench, formerly called the King's Bench, of the Court of Common Pleas, the Court of the Exchequer, and the Duchy Court, was this Day read the First and Second time, and, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee formerly appointed to alter the Seals of the several Courts, to take care for altering the said several Seals; and present them to this House, for their Approbation thereof.

Army.

Ordered, That all the Forces under Major General Ashton, and Colonel Shuttleworth, both in Lancasheire and Westmorland, shall be forthwith disbanded: And that Major General Lambert be required to see it forthwith done.

Sir Henry Vane, Sir William Brereton, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Challener, Lord Grey, Sir Michael Livesey, Colonel Waite, Colonel Moore, do consider, How, and in what manner, the said Forces under Major General Ashton, and Colonel Shuttleworth, may be speedily disbanded, or disposed for the Business of Ireland; and how Money may be raised for that Purpose: And to report it to the House on Tuesday next: And prepare a Letter to Major General Lambert.

Ordered, That Major General Lambert shall have Power to draw out such of those Forces, as may be useful for Ireland, with the Advice of the Committee: And that Colonel Moore do, out of those Forces, complete his Regiment; and take such others of them with him, as he can get to go with him.

Ordered, That a Letter, to be signed by Mr. Speaker, be sent to Colonel Rigby, a Member of this House, to be assisting herein.

Delinquents.

Ordered, That Serjeant Thorpe do report the Act concerning the Delinquents in the North, and their Compositions, on Wednesday Morning next, the first Business.

Dean and Chapters.

Ordered, That Mr. John Corbett do report the Act for Dean and Chapters on Tuesday, to be then read, the first Business for that Day.

Delinquents.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Act touching Compositions of Delinquents at Goldsmiths Hall, is committed, be required to sit this Afternoon; and report the same to the House speedily: And that Mr. Trenchard and Mr. John Ashe be added to that Committee.

Ordered, That Mr. Allen and Mr. John Ashe do make the Report, on Wednesday next, from the Committee where Mr. Allen hath the Chair, of the Business of Money at Goldsmiths Hall, referred to that Committee.

Oath by Freemen.

Mr. Say reports the Form of an Oath to be taken by every Freeman of the City of London, and other Cities, Boroughs, and Towns Corporate, with an Act for the Administring thereof, and of none other, to every Freeman.

Which was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That this Act, and the Act for abolishing the Oath of Allegiance, Obedience, and Supremacy, be forthwith printed and published: And that the Members of this House, of every City and Borough, do take care to send them down into the several Cities and Boroughs for which they serve.

Excise.

Ordered, That Mr. Gould, Mr. Boone, Sir Henry Myldmay, Colonel Wauton, Colonel Moore, Colonel Venne, Mr. Dove, Lord Grey, Alderman Atkins, Mr. Allen, Mr. Martyn, Mr. Hodges, Mr. Blakiston, Sir Henry Vane, Mr. Brewster, Mr. Garland, Colonel Wilson, be added to the Committee of the Excise.

Navy. Committee.

Ordered, That Mr. Allen and Colonel Purefoy be added to the Committee of the Navy.

Navy.

Colonel Waughton reports from the Committee of the Navy, their Desire, That Two Months Pay be given as a Gratuity to the Company of the Elizabeth Frigate.

Ordered, That Two Months Gratuity be bestowed on the Company of the Elizabeth Frigate, in respect of their faithful Service for the State.

Brocklesby's Claims.

Whereas, by Order of the Second of January last, it was ordered, That the Committee of Sequestrations at Cambden House should pay unto Anne Brocklesby the Sum of One hundred Pounds, in full Satisfaction of her Debt, due from Arthur Frye, of London, Pewterer, a Delinquent; which Money is not yet paid: It is now Ordered, by the Commons, assembled in Parliament, That the said Committee do forthwith pay, unto the said Anne Brocklesby, the said Sum of One hundred Pounds accordingly.
