Prayers.

City Officers.

ORDERED, That the Lord Mayor of London be required to call together the Common Council, newly elected; and that he do require them to do the Duty of their Place, and suspend the Taking of Oaths till further Order.

Delinquents &c. in London.

Ordered, That the General be sent to, and desired to take Order, to prohibit all Delinquents and Papists from coming to, or staying in, the City of London, or the Liberties thereof, or within the late Lines of Communication, or within Ten Miles of the City of London; and to secure the Persons of such as shall be found within the Limits aforesaid Six Days after the Date hereof, except such Persons as shall be licensed; under the Hands of Mr. Francis Allen and Mr. Samuel Moyer, to come to prosecute their Compositions with Effect, or such as have already compounded for their Delinquency, and have paid in their Money according to Orders and Directions of Parliament given in that Behalf.

City of London.

Ordered, That the Lord Mayor of the City of London be required immediately to take down all the Chains that are within the said City and Liberties thereof: And that the said Chains be secured in Leaden Hall, until the House take further Order, for the Use of the several Wards to whom they respectively do belong: And the Lord General is hereby also desired, That, for such Chains, as have lately been taken down within the said City, or Liberties, that he take care for Restoring of them to the said Lord Mayor, to be disposed of to the Use of such Wards to whom properly they do appertain.

Colonel Ven is to send it to the Lord Mayor.

Journals.

Ordered, That a Book of Vellum be forthwith prepared, for entering all the publick Acts of this House: And that all the publick Acts of this House be entered in the said Book accordingly.

Court for trying the King.

Ordered, That the Ordinance touching the Erecting of an High Court of Justice, for Tryal of the King, be ingrossed, and brought in, To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Publication by Mr. Pryn.

Ordered, That Mr. Humphry Edwards and Mr. Fry do repair to Mr. Pryn; and to shew him the scandalous Book or Pamphlet, intituled, "A brief Memento to the present unparliamentary Juncto, touching their present Intentions and Proceedings to depose and execute Charles Stewart, their lawful King;" and to know of him, If he will own and avow the said Book.

Ordered, That the Lord General be desired to command his Marshal to put the Ordinance of 27 Septembris 1647, concerning scandalous Pamphlets, in Execution.

Ordered, That Awdly Marvin, Major James Earskin, and Captain James Coningham, be committed, as Delinquents, to the Serjeant at Arms that attends this House.

Prisoners of War.

Ordered, That the General be desired to command his Marshal to take care of Prisoners of War, and for Delinquency: And it is hereby referred to the Committee of the Army, to enable the Marshal to go on with the said Service, concerning scandalous Pamphlets, and Prisoners.

Escape of Prisoners.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Tower, to examine the Business touching Peter House, and of the Escape of the Prisoners from thence; and to consider of a sit House, to be appointed for the Serjeant at Arms that attends this House, to keep his Prisoners in.

Clerk of the House.

Resolved, &c. That Henry Scoble Esquire be, and is hereby, nominated and appointed Clerk of this House, in the place and stead of Henry Elsyng Esquire. And

It is further Ordered, That the Patent of the said Henry Elsynge be called in: And that Mr. Scoble do sign the Orders and Proceedings of this House.

Parliamentary Records.

Ordered, That Mr. Scoble do attend the Committee appointed to take care of the Records of this House: And that he do take . . . Care of the said Records upon him; and do take them into his Charge.

Ordered, That the Petition of Edward Carter Esquire be referred to the said Committee: And the said Committee are to fit the Room for the safe-keeping of the Records of this House; and consider of all incident Charges to be disbursed for this House; and report the same to this House.

Clerk Assistant.

Resolved, &c. That Ralph Darnell Esquire be, and hereby is, appointed Clerk Assistant to this House. And

It is Ordered, That he do continue his Service here in the said Employment.

Navy.

Mr. Corbett reports the Opinion of the Committee appointed to consider how the Affairs of the Navy may be managed for the best Advantage of this Kingdom.
