MR. Garland reports from the Committee, the Amendments to the Act, intituled, An additional Act, giving further Power to the High Court of Justice.
Successes in Ireland.
A Letter from the Camp by Waterford, Augusti 12, 1650, from the Deputy to the Lord General in Ireland, was this Day read.
Ordered, That on the next Lord's Day, being the First Day of September 1650, Publick Thanks be given to Almighty God in all the Churches and Chapels within the Cities of London and Westminster, and the late Lines of Communication, and weekly Bills of Mortality, for the great Successes the Lord hath been pleased to give unto the Parliament's Forces in Ireland, by the Surrender of Waterford, Duncannon, and Catherlo.
Resolved, That the like Publick Thanks be given unto Almighty God, in all other the Churches and Chapels in England, Wales, and Town of Barwick, for the same Mercies, on the Fifteenth Day of September next coming, being the Lord's Day.
Ordered, That Mr. Scott do prepare a Declaration, to be presented to the House, containing the Grounds of this Thanksgiving.
Ordered, That the Declaration, for setting apart several Days of Publick Humiliation in Ireland, be read on Friday next.
Chair to be taken.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do take the Chair To-morrow at Eleven of Clock: And that the Winter Guards, and the Estimate thereupon, be then taken into Consideration.
High Court of Justice.
The Amendments to the Act, for giving further Power to the High Court of Justice, were this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, assented unto.
The Question being put, That the said Act be ingrossed;
It passed with the Negative.
And the said Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed. And
It is Ordered, That the said Act be forthwith printed and published.
