Prayers.

Absent Members, &c.

ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee touching absent Members, to consider of the Order made by this House, touching such Members of this House as did not give Satisfaction to the said Committee; and to state the Matter of Fact touching the Imprisonment of Mr. Samuel Clerke; and report the same to the House To-morrow Morning.

Elutherian Islands.

The House this Day took up the Debate, upon the Act, touching the Adventurers for the Elutherian Islands.

Resolved, &c. That Excise be excepted in this Act.

The Question being propounded, That the Goods imported shall be Custom-free;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That the said Act, so amended, be forthwith ingrossed.

London Poor.

The House being informed, that divers Aldermen of the City of London, Members of the Corporation for the Poor, were at the Door;

They were called in: And, after a short Preamble made by Alderman Avery, he did, in the Name of the President and Governors of the said Corporation, present an humble Petition to this House.

Which (after the Petitioners were withdrawn) was read; and was intituled, "The humble Petition and Desires of the President and Governors for the Poor of the City of London, and Liberties, lately incorporated by an Act of this present Parliament."

An Act for settling certain Houses upon the Corporation of the President and Governors for the Poor of the City of London, and Liberties thereof, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question committed unto Colonel Marten, Colonel Rich, Mr. Challener, Alderman Wilson, Alderman Atkin, Mr. James Challoner, Mr. Bond, Mr. Scott, Alderman Pennington, Mr. Leman, Mr. Allen, Mr. Toll, Mr. Mayne, Colonel Ven, Colonel Harrison, Colonel Thompson, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Garland, Sir Richard Lucy, Mr. Clement, Sir James Harrington, Captain Smyth, Mr. Browne, Mr. Edwards, Dr. Palmer, Mr. Holland, Mr. Lister; or any Five of them: And all that come to have Voices, Mr. Marten, and Alderman Wilson to take care of it: With Power to consider of Synon House, or any other House, for the Use of the Poor: With Power to look upon the Letters Patents touching Synon House; and present their Opinions therein to the House: With further Power to send for Persons, Witnesses, Papers, or any thing else that may conduce to that Business: And to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber; and so to sit de die in diem.

Prisoners.

Ordered, That the Act for the Prisoners be reported To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Miners.

The serious Representation of Captain Thomas Robinson, Nathaniel Middleton, and Wm. Heaward, on the Behalf of themselves, and many Thousand poor Miners inhabiting in the County of Derby, was this Day read.

The humble Petition of John Earl of Rutland, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to a Committee; to consider of, and to hear what the Miners can say, that they are prejudiced by the former Order made by this House the Twenty-eighth of March last; and to state the whole Business; and present their Opinions therein to the House: Viz. unto Sir Henry Vane, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Goodwyn, Mr. Hallowes, Mr. Millington, Sir Wm. Strickland, Mr. Challener, Mr. Holland, Mr. Ashe, Dr. Palmer, Mr. Carey, Mr. Robinson, Mr. John Goodwyn, Mr. Allen, Mr. Bond, Mr. Garland, Colonel Marten; or any Five of them: Who are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.
