Prayers.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee of Obstructions, for Sale of Deans and Chapters Lands, or any Three of them, to consider of such Particulars as shall be offered to them, by the Commissioners appointed for Sale of the Goods of the late King, Queen, and Prince, whereby the Sale of the said Goods is obstructed; and to consider how the said Obstructions may be removed; and report their Opinion therein to the House, To-morrow Morning.

Ordered, That Mr. Garland do take care hereof.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir John Hippesley have Leave to go to the Bathe.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That Sir John Hippesley be admitted to come in, as a Purchaser of Deans and Chapters Lands, for the Sum of Thirteen hundred Pounds, by him lent to the Use of the State: And that he have Interest allowed him for the same, after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Cent. per Annum, from the Time of the Loan thereof: And that he have the like Benefit and Advantage, as any other Person or Persons, whose Debts are transferred from the Excise, and Goldsmiths Hall, by the Act for abolishing of Deans and Chapters, &c. or by any other Act or Instructions, touching the Sale of the Lands of the said Deans and Chapters, have, or ought to have: And that if the said Sir John Hippesley shall double the said Thirteen hundred Pounds, and Interest, that then he shall have the like Benefit, as other Persons that come in upon Doubling: And the Trustees, Contractors, Treasurers, and Register Accomptant, for Sale of the said Lands, respectively, are authorized and required to allow of the said Sum of Thirteen hundred Pounds; and to cast up the Interest; and to admit him as a Purchaser; and to contract with the said Sir John Hippesley; and to make Conveyance or Conveyances upon such Contracts accordingly.

Admission of a Member.

Ordered, That Colonel Syddenham be admitted into this House.

Malignant Magistrates.

Mr. Weaver reports Amendments to the Act for Examination of Witnesses, upon Informations or Articles exhibited to the Committee of Indemnity, against any malignant or delinquent Magistrate; and upon Complaints, in other Cases, before the said Justices: Which were, upon the Question, assented unto.

And the Act, so amended, was, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be printed and published.

Publick Accompts.

An Act for taking the Accompts of the Commissioners Collectors of the Customs, Collectors Commissioners for Prize Goods; the Treasurer, Commissioners, and Victuallers for the Navy; the Lieutenant and other Officers of the Ordnance, and others; was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Marten, Mr. Holland, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Bond, Sir Wm. Allanson, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Lister, Colonel Fleetwood, Mr. Robinson, Colonel Ven, Colonel Harrison, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Corbett, Lord Howard, Mr. Smith, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Burrell, Colonel Rich, Mr. Gurdon, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Challoner, Mr. Goodwyn, Alderman Wilson, Mr. Clement, Mr. Boone, Mr. Leman, Mr. Darley, Mr. Fell; or any Three of them: And this Committee to meet in the Treasury Chamber, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon.

And Mr. Fell and Mr. Bond are to take care of it; and that it be brought in on Monday next.

Taking down late King's Arms.

Ordered, That Mr. Martyn, Mr. Garland, and Mr. Robinson, do bring in an Act for taking down and Demolishing the Arms of the late King in all publick Places; and likewise all Statues and Inscriptions.

Probate of Wills, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Stephens do make his Report, from the Committee touching Probate of Wills, To-morrow Morning, next after the Business of North Wales.

Norwich.

Ordered, That Mr. Garland do make his Report concerning Norwich on Monday Morning next.

Trade.

Ordered, That the Act for the Advance of Trade be read To-morrow Morning.

Prisoners.

Ordered, That the Report touching the Act for Prisoners be made on Monday Morning the first Business.

Redeeming Captives.

Ordered, That, on Tuesday Morning next, the Act touching Redeeming of Captives be read.

Publick Accompts.

An Act, for receiving and taking the Accompts of the Commonwealth was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Committee appointed for the Bill for taking the Accompts of the Officers of the Navy.

And the special Care hereof is commended to Mr. John Goodwyn.

Correspondence with Hamborough.

Letters from the Burgimasters and Senators of the City of Hamborough, written in Latin, and dated 25 Junii 1649, superscribed thus, "Illustrissimis, Excellentissimis, Nobilissimis, ac Magnificis Dominis, Dominis Celsissimæ Domus Parliamenti in Anglia Ordinibus, Dominis nostris Observandissimis;" and subscribed thus, "Illustrissimarum vestrarum Generositatum & Dominatum Observandissimi atque Officiosissimi Proconsules & Senatores Civitatis Hamburgensis;" was this Day read in Latin; and after Englished by the Clerk.

Ordered, That these Letters be referred to the Council of State, to prepare a Letter to be sent, by way of Answer thereunto, from the Parliament, to be signed by Mr. Speaker; informing them, That this House hath taken the Letter into Consideration; and likewise to take notice of the Abuse done, by surprising of some English Merchants at Hamborough; and desire some Course to be taken for their Release.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the Letters from the Burgimasters and Senators of the City of Hamborough be referred to the Committee of the Navy: And all that come to have Voices to this Purpose: And they are to report their Opinions to the House: And this Committee have Power to send for Persons, Papers, &c.

M. Goman.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to know by what authority Monsieur Goman, who desires a Pass, did come over into this Commonwealth; what his Business hath been, and is, here; and to give him a Pass, if they see Cause.
