Judicial Seals.

AN Act for altering the Judicial Seal for the Counties of Carnarvon, Merioneth, and Anglesea, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed.

An Act for the Altering the Judicial Seal for the Counties of Brecknock, Radnor, and Glamorgan, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Grant to Noble.

Ordered, That the Sum of Twenty Pounds, over-and-above the Sum of Seventy Pounds, formerly bestowed upon Mr. James Noble, be given, and forthwith paid, out of Sir Charles Chemish his Fine, unto the said Mr. Noble, for his former good Service, and great Journies taken by him, for the Good of the Publick.

Weavers Company.

Ordered, That the Petition of the late Bailiff, Wardens and Assistants of the Company of Weavers, London, be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning next.

Leave to speak with Prisoner.

Ordered, That Sir William Armyn and Mr. Gurdon have Leave to speak with Mr. Thomas Cawton, who is committed for Treason.

Justice of Denbigh, &c.

Mr. Miles Corbett reports the Form of a Patent to John Bradshawe, Serjeant at Law, of the Office of Justice of the Counties of Denbigh and Montgomery in Wales, &c. with the Alterations and Amendments: Which, being read, were, upon the Question, agreed; and ordered to pass.

Ordered, That the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England be hereby authorized to pass a Grant unto Mr. Serjeant Bradshaw, under the Great Seal, accordingly.

Navy Supply.

Mr. Miles Corbett reports from the Committee of the Navy, the Want of Stores for setting out the Fleet; and that, for raising of Money to supply the same, it will be necessary to pass an Act for Payment of the Seventeen thousand Five hundred and Five Pounds, charged on the Customs, to the Judges, &c. to the Use of the Navy, according to the Order of the Nineteenth of January last; and to enable the Committee of the Navy to take up Money upon Credit.

An Act to transfer the Salaries of the Judges, and others, for the Use of the Navy, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That the Committee of the Navy be, and are hereby, impowered to borrow what Monies they can, upon the Credit of the said Act, for the better carrying on the Affairs of the Navy for the future.

Excise.

Ordered, That the present Commissioners for the Recept of the Excise be continued, with the like Powers as formerly, until the Four-and-Twentieth of June next, unless the House shall, in the mean time, take, other Order, for the better Management thereof.

Ordered, That the Committee of Excise be required to sit, and take into Consideration some Ways of improving the Benefit of the Excise, for the Advantage of the Commonwealth, and for the better Regulation of it; and report it to the House: And Commissary General Ireton, Colonel Rich, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Fenwick, Mr. Blakeston, Mr. Dove, Mr. Hum. Edwards, Mr. Feilder, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Skynner, Mr. Peter Temple, Colonel Wawton, Sir Wm. Allanson, Mr. Martyn, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Hallowes. . . . . . .: And Mr. Miles Corbett is to have a special Care hereof: And the said Committee are to consider, with the Commissioners of Excise, and such Persons as they shall think fit, By what way the Accompts touching the Excise may be passed in the Exchequer; and to report the same to the House on Friday.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of Excise be injoined forthwith to call in all the Arrears of the Excise, from the several Sub Commissioners in the Country, or otherwise.

Council of State.

Ordered, That the Clerk of this House do, upon the Rising of this House, daily send to the Council of State such Orders of this House as concern them.

Relief of Debtors, &c.

Mr. Martyn reports an Act for freeing Mens Persons from Imprisonment, for Debt only, both in England and Wales; and also for Relief of Creditors and Sureties for Debt: Which was this Day read the First time; and laid aside: And

That the Committee appointed to consider of something to be offered to the House, to the Release of poor Prisoners, be revived; and required to bring in a Bill on Friday next, touching the Relief and Release of poor Prisoners for petty Debts: And Colonel Harrison, Alderman Atkyns, Mr. John Corbett, and Mr. Garland, are added to that Committee: And they are to meet on Monday in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.

Delinquents.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Act touching Delinquents do meet in Mr. Speaker's Chamber, as soon as the House doth rise; and bring in the Act on Monday next.

Ordered, That the Members of this House, of . . . several Counties, do present to that Committee the Names of Gentlemen in the several and respective Counties, to execute the Powers given, in that Act, to the Committee of Goldsmiths Hall.

Saltpetre.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take care, that the Saltpetre Works (the Act concerning which determines the Fifteenth of this instant March) be continued; and to treat with such as they shall think fit concerning the same: And that the said Council of State have the same Powers in ordering and managing the same, as were heretofore placed in the Committee of Safety, or late Committee at Derby House: And that Mr. Scott do bring in an Act to that purpose, with all convenient Speed.

Trade, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Scott do, on Friday next, report to the House the Bills in his Hands, touching Trade and Manufacture.

Abolishing Deans and Chapters.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Act for abolishing Deans and Chapters is referred, be, and is hereby, injoined to sit when the House riseth; and bring in the Act on Tuesday Morning next.

Westminster Militia.

Ordered, That the Act for settling the Militia of Westminster, be read on Wednesday next.
