Customs.
The House being informed, That Mr. Toomes, the Surveyor General of the Customs, was at the Door, with the State of the Receipts and Disbursements of the Commissioners of the Customs, from 25 Februarii 1644 to the Twenty-fifth of December 1647; upon the Foot of which Accompt appears to be received, the Sum of Seven hundred and Thirty thousand One hundred Forty-six Pounds One Shilling and Elevenpence Half-peny: Disbursed the Sum of Seven hundred and Ninety-four thousand Eight hundred Fifty-seven Pounds Four Shillings and Five-pence Three Farthings; so that there remains owing to the Commissioners, to balance this Accompt, the Sum of Sixty-four thousand Seven hundred and Eleven Pounds Two Shillings and Six-pence Farthing;
Ordered, That the Commissioners of the Customs may have a Copy of this Accompt: And that they do, on Thursday next, or sooner, if it may be, give their Answer to the House, in Writing, to this Accompt.
Ordered, That Mr. Toomes, the Surveyor General of the Customs, do prepare a State of all the Receipts and Disbursements of the former several and respective Commissioners or Receivers of the Customs, respectively, that have been employed in that Service since the first Sitting of this Parliament, in like manner as he hath stated the Accompt of the Receipts and Disbursements of the present Commissioners: And that he do present the same to the House, so stated, with all convenient Speed.
Eastern Association.
An Ordinance for securing the Sum of Twenty thousand Pounds, payable, by former Ordinance, to the Committee of the Eastern Association; and for the Borrowing of the same, and advancing it, for the Use and Service of the Navy; was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.
An Ordinance for securing unto the Committee of the Eastern Association, the Sum of Ten thousand Pounds, and for charging the same with Interest, payable every Six Months, after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Cent. was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.
Excise Commissioners.
An Ordinance for securing the Commissioners of Excise the Sum of Ten thousand Pounds, advanced and lent by them, for the Use of the Navy, was this Day read.
The Question being put, For agreeing to the last Clause of the said Ordinance in hæc verba; viz. "It is likewise Ordained, That the Commissioners shall continue in the Employment, and shall not be dismissed or amoved from the same, until they be reimbursed the foresaid Ten thousand Pounds, and all other Sum and Sums of Money which they have already advanced, or shall, at any time, or times hereafter, further advance, for the Service of the Parliament, with Interest, after the Rate of Eight per Cent. per Annum;
It passed with the Negative; and is ordered to be put out of the said Ordinance.
The said Ordinance (the said Clause being leftout), upon the Question, passed; and is ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.
Mr. Myles Corbett is appointed to carry this and the other Ordinances this Day passed, touching the Eastern Association, to the Lords, on Monday next.
Excise Commissioners.
Resolved, &c. That this House doth declare, That the present Commissioners of the Excise shall not be removed out of the said Employment, until they be reimbursed the Ten thousand Pounds now lent by them, for the Use of the Navy, with the Interest due for the same, after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Cent. per Annum.
Merchant Adventurers Loan.
Ordered, That Mr. Beddingfield do repair to the Merchant Adventurers, and know their Answer touching the Loan of Ten thousand Pounds, and what Security they require.
Customs and Excise.
Resolved, &c. That every Tuesday and Thursday the House do take into Consideration the regulating, advancing, and improving the Revenue of the Customs, and the Revenue of the Excise; and likewise all other the Revenue of the Kingdom, to the best Advantage of the Parliament: And that the House enter upon this Consideration on Tuesday next, the first Business.
Plymouth Garison.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, and the Committee of Plymouth, to meet this Afternoon, and to confer with the Treasurers at Wars for the present Advance of Six thousand Pounds, for the present Use of the Garison of Plymouth, upon the Credit of the general Receipts of the Army: And that the Committee of Plymouth do use their best Endeavours to make speedy Return of the said Six thousand Pounds, out of the Ten thousand Pounds for Plymouth in the County of Devon, in such Manner as shall be agreed upon by the Committee of the Army, and the Committee of Plymouth.
Sale of Guard Coats
The Question being put, That it be referred to the Committee of Whitehall, to make Sale of the Guard Coats, at Whitehall, to the best Advantage; and out of the Proceed thereof, to provide Fire, Candle and other Necessaries for the Soldiers of Whitehall and the Mewse;

Dymock's, &c. Arrears.
The Petition of Captain Humfrey Dymock, Captain Anthony Masham, and Lieutenant Prescott, was this Day read, for Payment of their Arrears out of a Delinquent's Estate, by them to be discovered.
Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee at Haberdashers Hall: And the Committee has Power to pay them their Arrears, upon the certifying and stating their Accompts, by the Committee of Accompts, according to the Ordinances and Instructions in that Behalf: And that the Surplusage that shall accrue to the State, over and above the Satisfaction of the Arrears of the said Officers, shall be paid by the Committee at Haberdashers Hall, to the Committee at Whitehall, and by them employed for the providing Fire, Candles, and other Necessaries, for the Soldiers at Whitehall and the Mewse.
Sale of Hangings at Whitehall.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee at Whitehall, to consider of the Hangings at Whitehall, and to make Sale of such of them as have superstitious and idolatrous Pictures in them; and out of the Proceed thereof, to provide Fire, Candles, and other Necessaries, for the Soldiers at Whitehall and the Mewse.
Stationers Company, &c.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Ordinance touching the Company of Stationers, and Printing, be revived; and do meet on Tuesday next, at Two post meridiem, in the former Place; and so de die in diem: And the Care of this Business is more particularly referred to Mr. Selden.
Blasphemis.
Ordered, That, on Saturday Morning next, Mr. Whittacre do report the Ordinance for punishing Blasphemies.
Leave of Absence.
Resolved, &c. That all the Lawyers, Members of this House, shall have the Leave of the House, to be absent, and to go the Circuit.
Blasphemous Publications.
Resolved, &c. That what Person soever shall discover the Author or Printer of the vile blasphemous Pamphlets, the one intituled, "The Parliament's Ten Commandments; the Parliament's Pater-noster; the Articles of their Faith;" the other intituled, "Ecce the new Testament of our Lords and Saviours the House of Commons at Westminster, and the supreme Council at Windsore;" or either of them; shall have the Sum of One hundred Pounds bestowed upon him for the same.
Attainting Jenkins.
Mr. Serjeant Wilde reports the Ordinance for attainting David Jenkins, late of Graie's Inn in the County of Middlesex, Esquire, of High Treason, as it is amended by the said Committee: The which, so amended, was read: And the Reporter reported the Evidence and Proofs to make good the Matter of Fact.
Ordered, That Mr. David Jenkins, a Prisoner in Newgate, be brought to the Bar of this House on Monday Morning next, by Nine of Clock, to answer such Charge as he shall be charged with by the said House: And the Keeper of Newgate is hereby strictly required to bring the said David Jenkins to the Bar, accordingly.
