PRAYERS.

London Agents.

ORDERED, That Mr. Swynfen be added to the Committee for the London Agents, in the Place of Sir Nathaniell Barnardiston, in regard of his Absence out of Town.

Ordinance of Supply.

An Ordinance appointing Twenty thousand Pounds, charged upon the Receipts of the Excise for the Eastern Association, to be paid unto the Treasurers at War, for the Supply of the Army, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and, ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Excise.

An Ordinance for reimbursing the Commissioners of Excise Ten thousand Pounds, by them advanced upon the Credit of the Ordinance of the Twenty-eighth of February 1645, for Supply of the Army, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Army Pay.

Ordered, That the Committee of the Army do give Order and Warrant to the Treasurers at War, forthwith to issue forth, and send down to Windsore, all such Monies as they have in ready Cash, towards the making up a Month's Pay for the Army: And that they send away the Remainder of the Month's Pay, with what Speed possibly they can: And the Treasurers at Wars are enjoined to perform the same accordingly.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Francis Drake, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country for a Month.

Tower Hamlets Militia.

An Ordinance for nominating and giving Power to a Committee of the Militia for the Hamlets of the Tower, to raise Monies, not exceeding a Thousand Pounds, and to manage the Militia there, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Sir John Northcott, Sir Robert Pye, Sir Wm. Allenson, Mr. Wheeler, Colonel White, Sir John Danvers, Sir Richard Lucy, Mr. Trenchard, Alderman Atkin, Alderman Hoyle, Colonel Ven, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Leman, Colonel Birch, Mr. Nath. Stephens, Mr. Buller, Mr. Holland, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Knightley, Sir Gilbert Gerard, Sir John Francklyn, Mr. Annesley, Sir Wm. Massam, Colonel Ludlow; or any Five of them: And are to meet, To-morrow at Two post meridiem, in the Exchequer Court: And the Care of this Business is more particularly referred to Mr. Wheeler.

London Agents.

Ordered, That, notwithstanding the former Order this Day made, Sir Nathamell Barnardiston being still in Town, that he do stand of the same Committee concerning the London Agents, as formerly.

Sheriff o Carnarvon.

Ordered, That the Information concerning the Gentleman nominated Sheriff of the County of Carnaroon, be referred to the Examination of the Committee of Complaints.

Poor, &c.

An Ordinance, sent from the Lords, for the Relief and Employment of the Poor, and the Punishment of Vagrants, and other disorderly Persons, was this Day read the First time; and ordered to be read the Second time To-morrow Morning.

Proceedings in the Army.

Lieutenant General Cromwell gave the House an Account of the Proceedings at the Rendesvous of the Army; and how that, by the great Mercy of God, upon the Endeavours of the General and Officers, the Army was in a very composed State of Obedience to the Superior Officers, and Submission to the Authority of Parliament.

General Cromwell thanked.

Resolved, &c. That the Thanks of this House be returned to Lieutenant General Cromwell, for his good Service performed to the Parliament and Kingdom, at the late Rendesvous of the Army.

Mr. Speaker did accordingly give him the Thanks of this House.

Answer from Lords.

Sir Robert Pye brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Ordinance concerning the Twenty thousand Pounds payable out of the Receipts of the Excise, to the Eastern Association; and to the Ordinance concerning Ten thousand Pounds advanced, upon the Credit of the said Twenty thousand Pounds, by the Commissioners of Excise, for Supply of the Army: To the respective Sheriffs of the several Counties, and to the Order for discharging the Sheriffs Accompts without paying Fees; they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Message from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page;

The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you this Letter: It comes from the King: And that it may be communicated by the Members of both Houses, that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, to the Scotts Commissioners, as is desired therein: To put you in mind again of the Matter of the last Conference; and of the Paper that came from Nottingham, concerning some Agents in the City; and particularly naming one in Friday Street: Which they desire this House to take into speedy Consideration, as much importing the Settlement, Peace and Prosperity of the Kingdom.

Letter from the King.

The Letter from the King, from Carisbrooke, dated 16 Novembris 1647 was read.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concur with the Lords, That this Letter be communicated to the Scotts Commissioners, by the Members of both Houses that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, as is desired.

Propositions to the King.

Resolved, &c. That a Message be sent to the Lords, to desire them to appoint a Committee, to the end that this House may appoint a Committee of a proportionable Number, to go with the Propositions on Monday to the King.

London Agents.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree, That the Papers sent from the Lords, that came from Nottingham, concerning the London Agents, be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Lords and Commons, appointed to examine the Business touching the London Agents.

Propositions to the King.

Sir Henry Mildmay is appointed to go to the Lords with this Message concerning their nominating a Committee, to join with a Committee of a proportionable Number of this House, to go with the Propositions to the King.

Answer to Lords.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to the Communicating of the Letter from the King to the Scotts Commissioners, in manner as is desired.

Army Pay, &c.

Resolved, &c. That the House do, To-morrow Morning, take into Consideration the providing a constant Pay for the Army, and the taking off Free Quarter.

Army Addresses.

Resolved, &c. That Lieutenant General Cromwell be desired to declare from this House to the General, That this House will be at all times ready to receive and give such Answer as is fitting, in a Parliamentary Way, to such humble Addresses as shall be made from the Army to this House, by the General.
