Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to take the Cases of the absent Members, and to examine the Causes of their Absence, whose Excuses, upon Calling the House, were not allowed; viz. unto Mr. Selden, Colonel Thompson, Mr. Bond, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Boscawen, Colonel Purefoy, Mr. Ashhurst, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Ravenscroft, Sir Henry Cholmley, Sir John Evelyn of Wiltes, Mr. Swynfen, Sir John Danvers, Colonel Leigh, Mr. Hill, Mr. Povey, Mr. Alderman Pennington, Sir Tho. Absent Members.

Resolved, &c. That the Fine of Twenty Pounds be set upon the absent Members, whose Excuses, upon the Calling of the House, were not allowed: The said Twenty Pounds to be deposited in the Hands of Sir Robert Pye and Mr. Wheeler, and paid unto them before any of the said absent Members do come into the House: And that, upon Report from the Committee of the particular Cases of the said respective absent Members, that then the House will determine the Disposal of the said Fine, as they shall see Cause.

Resolved, &c. That the Third of November be appointed for all the now absent Members, whose Excuses are not now allowed, that ought to attend, to be present: And that such as shall not then attend the House, shall not come into the House, before the Report of their Cases be made from the Committee appointed to that Purpose; and the House take farther Order.

Army Committee.

Resolved, &c. That the Committee of the Army, or such of them as they shall agree among themselves to send thither, do go to the Army on Monday next.

Resolved, &c. That the Committee of the Army, or such of them as shall go down to the Army, shall have the same Power to confer with the General, or such as he shall appoint, as the Commissioners formerly appointed to reside with the Army had; and upon the same Matters: And that it be referred to the Committee of the Army, or such of them as shall go thither, to perfect those Matters, which, by the said former Commissioners, were left unperfected; and to report them to the House: And that the Committee of the Army do take care to defray the Charges of such as shall be employed in this Service.

Col. King.

Ordered, That, on Monday next, when Mr. Speaker comes to the Chair, Mr. Pury do make Report concerning Colonel King.

Money for Army.

Ordered, That, on Monday next, when Mr. Speaker comes to the Chair, Mr. Scawen report the Obstructions the Committee meets with, in bringing in the Monies for the Army.

Arrears of Assessments.

Mr. Hodges reports the Amendments to the Ordinance for bringing in the Arrears of the Assessments for the Army: The which were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

Mr. Hodges likewise reported a Proviso to be added to the said Ordinance, concerning such as were over-rated, or fallen into Inability since their Rates set upon them: The which was twice read; and, upon the Question, rejected.

Colonel Lilbourne.

Ordered, That Mr. Marten do, on Tuesday next, after the Reports from Goldsmiths Hall, report the Case and Business concerning Lieutenant Colonel Lilbourne.

Navy.

Ordered, That the Members of this House, that are of the Committee of the Admiralty and Cinque Ports, do withdraw, and take Order for sending forth a Ship to meet with an Irish Pickeroon upon the Coast of France.

It is further Ordered, Upon Report from the said Committee, That they have Liberty to give Orders to Captain Willoughby to be employed in this Service.
