PRAYERS.

Isle of Wight.

A LIST or Schedule, containing the ordinary Charges now appointed to continue in the Castle and Forts within the Isle of Wight, was read; and desired to be annexed to the Patent for making Colonel Robert Hammond Captain and Governor of the Isle of Wight, in manner as it has been annexed to former Patents.

The Particulars of this Schedule were all put to the Question; and all assented unto, except the Allowance of Six Pounds Thirteen Shillings Four-pence per Annum, to the Ranger of the Forests; the Allowance of Five Pounds per Annum to the Two Riding Foresters; the Allowance for certain Pensions, amounting unto Twentythree Pounds Fifteen Shillings Eight-pence per Annum; the Allowance to the Farmer of the Priory of Caresbrooke, for making the Defence against the Forest, per Annum, Sixteen Shillings: All which excepted Particulars are ordered to be left out.

And those Particulars being left out;

It is Ordered, That the said Schedule be annexed to the said Patent.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Allowances and Pensions.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Revenue, to inquire out, and consider of, what extraordinary and unnecessary Allowances and Pensions are made out of the Revenue, to Persons for Places and Offices in Castles, Forts, Forests, and Parks, that are obsolete, and grown altogether unnecessary and useless; and to propose a Way for retrenching all such unnecessary Pensions and Allowances, and all unnecessary Charge in the bringing in the Revenue of the Crown.

Business deferred.

Ordered, That on Thursday Morning next, the Business of Mr. Charles Leathom be first taken into Consideration: And that, next to that Business, the Petition in Mr. Scott's Hand, recommended by the General; and the Petition in Major Scott's Hand recommended likewise from the General; be taken into Consideration.

Message to Lords.

Sir Henry Mildmay went up to the Lords with the Message he was appointed to carry Yesterday, concerning the Seven Lords impeached by this House of High Treason.

He likewise carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Schedule to be annexed to Colonel Robert Hamond's Patent, of Captain and Governor of the Isle of Wight: The Ordinance for conferring upon Mr. Samuell Gosse the Place of one of the King's Waiters at the Custom-house.

Army.

The House, according to the Order Yesterday made, resumed the Debate of the Forces to be kept up in England, and in order to the future Relief of Ireland.

Resolved, &c. That, for the present Security of this Kingdom, until Affairs be better settled, and in order to the future Relief of Ireland, Seven thousand Two hundred Horse be kept up in England.

Resolved, &c. That, for the Purposes aforesaid, a Thousand Dragoons to be kept up in England.

Answer from Lords.

Sir Henry Mildmay brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Schedule to be annexed to Colonel Robert Hamond's Patent of Captain and Governor of the Isle of Wight: To the Ordinance for conferring the Place of one of the King's Waiters at the Custom-house upon Mr. Samuell Gosse; to the Message concerning the Seven Lords impeached by this House of High Treason; they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Army.

Resolved, &c. That, for the present Security of this Kingdom, until Affairs be better settled, and, in order to the future Relief of Ireland, there be kept up within this Kingdom Eighteen thousand Foot.

Resolved, &c. That, for the Purposes aforesaid, Two hundred Firelocks be kept up within this Kingdom.

Garisons.

Resolved, &c. That the whole Matter concerning the Settlement of the Garisons of the Kingdom, be referred to the Consideration of the General, and the Commissioners appointed to reside with the Army; to confer and debate with him, or whom he shall appoint, upon the same: And that such Gentlemen of the House, that desire to represent any thing concerning the Garisons in their several Counties, may have notice to be there present, if they shall think fit.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Colonel Ralph Ashton, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.

Ordered, That Mr. Esay Thomas, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.

Army.

Ordered, That, To-morrow Morning, the first Business, the House do proceed in this Report concerning the Forces of England and Ireland.

Navy.

Ordered, That, on Wednesday next, the Reports be made from the Committee of the Navy.

Bishops Lands.

An Ordinance for putting the Great Seal to such Conveyances as are passed from the Trustees, to any the Purchasers of Bishops Lands as shall desire; and for the Delivery of such Writings as concern such Purchases: and for the more speedy passing Conveyances by such as have contracted for Bishops Lands; was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Army Pay, &c.

Ordered, That the Committees, or other Persons to whom the Care of providing the Month's Gratuity for the Army, the Month's Pay for the Army, the Ordinance concerning the Treasurers, and the Fifty thousand Pounds to be borrowed upon the Credit of the Arrears, is referred, do To-morrow give an Account of those particular Matters.

Col. King.

Ordered, That, on Thursday Morning next, Mr. Pury do make Report of the Business concerning Colonel Edward King, of the County of Lincoln.
