Prayers.
A Person committed.
RESOLVED, &c. That Mr. Ralph Goodwyn Clerk, be forthwith committed to the Prison of Newgate, there to remain a Prisoner during the Pleasure of the House; for his insolent Behaviour, and soul Revilings upon the House, and their Members; and raising Clamours and Tumults at the Door of the House, to the Disturbance and Scandal of their Proceedings; and for his great and notorious Misdemeanors in this Kind.
Indemnity from Bonds.
Ordered, That the Ordinance for the Indemnity of such as have had Bonds extorted from them by the Enemy, be read on Thursday Morning next, the first Business.
Army Certificates.
Ordered, That Mr. Broad, and the rest of the Auditors employed at Christ Church, and their Clerks, be hereby required to seal the Certificates contained in the List presented by Captain Gethin, one of the Treasurers whose Names are therein mentioned; which were delivered at Christ Church with the rest, and then miscarried.
Trinity House.
The humble Petition of the Master, Wardens, and Assistants of the Trinity House, of Debtford Strond, was this Day read.
The Commissioners of the Admiralty, the Master, Wardens, and Assistants of the Trinity House, so many of them as the House was informed were at the Door: They were called in; and acquainted the House with the great Distempers that are happened among the inserior Sort of Seamen, occasioned partly by want of Power in them, to prevent these Mischiefs, and partly for want of a Judge Advocate.
Ordered, That the Ordinance now tendered, for giving a fitting Power to the Society of Trinity House, for the better regulating the Mariners and Seamen of this Kingdom, be read on Thursday next.
Admiralty Judge.
Resolved, &c. That Dr. Wm. Clerk be hereby nominated and constituted Judge of the Admiralty, to proceed therein according to the lawful Jurisdiction of the said Court, in such manner as Dr. Sammes, Sir Henry Marten, or other former Judges of that Court, formerly did, or might lawfully proceed: And that the Commissioners of the Great Seal do pass a Patent unto him, under the Great Seal, accordingly: And that the Solicitor General do prepare a Grant to pass the said Great Seal, of the said Place of Judge of the said Court of Admiralty, to the said Dr. William Clerk, to enjoy and exercise the same, with the same Rights and Pre-eminences as the said Dr. Sammes, Sir Henry Marten, or any other former Judge of the Admiralty, of Right and lawfully held, enjoyed, and exercised the same.
The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Admiralty, to consider of a sitting Salary to be made and allowed to Dr. Clerk, Judge of the Admiralty, for his Encouragement in this Service.
Hampson's Delinqueney.
Ordered, That the Delinquency of Sir Thomas Hampson be referred to the Examination and Consideration of the Committee at Haberdashers Hall: Who are to report the same to the House on Thursday next, peremptorily.
Message to Lords.
Mr. Salway junior carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, an Order for Six Months Arrears to be paid to the Garison of Dover, out of the Sequestration Monies of Kent: The Order concerning the Explanation of the Words "send the Result," in the Order to the Commissioners with the Army: Order for Power to the Commissioners residing in the Army, to treat upon the Votes that shall be sent unto them: Order for approving the Proceedings of the Commissioners, in treating with such as the General shall appoint, notwithstanding he be not present: Order for Twenty Pounds and Twelve Shillings to Henry Clere Surgeon: A Letter to the Lord Inchiquin: Order for Seven thousand Two hundred Thirty Pounds Fourteen Shillings Four-pence, for transporting Colonel Ponsonbie's Regiment: Order for One hundred Pounds for Captain Freke: Order for Two thousand Six hundred Thirty-eight Pounds for the Lord of Ormond: Order for constituting Dr. Wm. Clerk Judge of the Admiralty.
Bodmyn Election.
Mr. Maynard reports the Case concerning the Election for Bodmyn; the Case there depending being between Mr. Anthony Nicoll and Mr. Brampston: And
It is Ordered, That the Debate and Consideration of this Report be respited until this Day Month.
A Person disabled to sit as Member.
Mr. Corbett reports the Case of Mr. Hudson, elected to serve for the Town of Lynne; who, as it appears by Testimony and other Evidence, was actually assisting in the Rising at Lynne Regis in Norfolk.
Resolved, &c. That the said Mr. Hudson be forthwith disabled for sitting or serving as a Member of this House, during this Parliament, for his Delinquency against the Parliament.
Lynne Writ.
Resolved, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess to serve in this Parliament for the Town of Lynne Regis in the County of Norfolke, in the Place of Edmund Hudson Gentleman, formerly chosen for that Place; who is disabled by Judgment of the House to fit as a Member thereof, during this Parliament.

Mr. Salway reports, That the Lords do agree to the Ordinances for paying Money to the Lord of Ormond, for transporting Colonel Ponsonbie's Regiment: To Captain Freke: To the Surgeon Mr. Clere: To the Letter for the Lord Inchiquin: To the Explanation of the Words "send the Results," in the Order to the Commissioners with the Army: To the rest of the Message carried by him, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.
Persons acting against Parliament.
The Vote was read, that passed the Tenth of June last, in hæc verba; viz. "That no Person that hath been in actual War against the Parliament, or hath acted by the Commission of Array, or voluntarily, either directly or indirectly, aided the King in this War against the Parliament, shall presume to sit in this House:"
And the Question was propounded, Whether any Penalty shall be added to the said Vote:
And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;
It passed with the Affirmative.
Resolved, &c. That a Penalty be added to this Vote.
Resolved, &c. That such Persons as have sued for, or accepted Pardons from the King, shall be comprehended within the Order of the Tenth of June last; and shall not presume to sit in this House.
Resolved, &c. That such Persons as have directed, advised, assisted, signed, or consented unto the Cessation of Ireland, or otherwise assisted the Rebellion of Ireland, be comprehended within the foresaid Order; and shall not presume to sit.
Resolved, &c. That such Persons as stand sequestered by Authority of Parliament for Delinquency, shall be likewise comprehended within the said Order; and shall not presume to fit.
The Question was propounded, That such Persons as shall offend against the said Orders, concerning such as shall not presume to sit in the House, shall not be admitted to any Rule of Composition; and shall be disabled for ever to sit as Members in this House:
And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;
