Prayers.

ORdered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess to serve for the University of Oxon, in the place of Sir Thomas Roe, formerly chosen to serve in that Place, and since deceased.

Resolved, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of Two Burgesses to serve for the City of Oxon, in the places of John Whister and John Smyth Esquires, formerly chosen to serve for the said City, and since disabled to sit as Members of this House, during this Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ, for the new Election of a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Monmouth in the County of Monmouth, in the place of Wm. Watkins Esquire, formerly chosen to serve in this present Parliament for the said Borough, and since * * * *.

Ordered, That Mr. John Goodwyn be added to the Committee of Lords and Commons for the Affairs of Ireland, as to the Business concerning the taking, stating, and perfecting the Accompts of the Lord Forbes, hereby referred to that Committee: And that he do report with all convenient Speed.

Resolved, &c. That the House do now proceed with the Report concerning the Covenant: And that then they do proceed in the Ordinance for Assessments of the Army.

Mr. Bois reports, from the Committee appointed to that Purpose, an Ordinance and Instructions for the Takeing of the Solemn League and Covenant by all Persons in the Kingdom of England, and Dominion of Wales.

The which was read the First time.

And the Question being put, Whether this Ordinance shall be now read the Second time;

The House was divided.

Resolved, &c. That this Ordinance be read the Second time on Thursday next come Sevennight.

Resolved, &c. That Secrecy be injoined all the Members of the House, not to speak any thing of the Busisiness now reported by Mr. Corbett, and Mr. Whittacre, for these Three Days.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker shall have Power to send for such Persons, as the Committee to whom the Examination of John Clements was referred, shall nominate.

And it is further Ordered, That the said Committee shall proceed in the further Examination of this Business, and of all other Matters of this Nature: And have Power to receive Information from all that shall come unto them; and to send for Parties, Witnesses, Paper, Records.

Ordered, That John Clements be committed to the safe Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House.

Ordered, That, To-morrow, next after the Ordinance concerning the Assessments for the Army, the House do take into Consideration the Garison of Lynne; and likewise the Garisons of Yorkshire and Hull.
