Prayers.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed for Mr. Peters his Ordinance shall have Power, any Four of them, to meet.

Ordered, That Mr. Hussy, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.

The humble Petition of Colonel Edward Massie, Commander in Chief of the Western Associated Forces, was this Day read; and ordered to be taken into Consideration on Wednesday Morning next, after the Report concerning the Fifty thousand Pounds, out of the Excise, for the Army.

Resolved, &c. That Thomas Foote, John Kendrick, Thomas Cullam, and Simon Edmonds, Esquires, Aldermen of the City of London, and John Lamott, and Edward Claxton, Esquires, shall manage the Excise, during the Time that both Houses have passed the Ordinance for continuing the Excise, according to such Instructions as are or shall be given by both Houses of Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That, on Wednesday next, the first Business, the Report be made concerning the Fifty thousand Pounds, out of the Excise, for the Army: And that the House do then take into further Consideration the Business of the Excise.

The humble Petition of Captain Francis Maissy was this Day read. And

It is Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee appointed to examine the Business concerning the Scotts Commissioners Messengers, staid at the Guards, to examine the whole Matter of Fact concerning the Commitment of Captain Francis Maissy; and to report it Tomorrow Morning: And they, or any Three of them, are to meet upon it this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Queen's Court: And the Warden of the Fleet is appointed to attend this Committee this Afternoon, with the Order of the Commitment of the said Francis Maissy.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do grant a Pass unto Colonel Henry Hastings, Sir Augustine Cokayne, Edward Stanford Esquire, and Richard Ashley Gentleman; and unto Thomas Pegge, Thomas Porter, John Dankes, Henry Shawell, William Gibson, Francis Eaton, Thomas Wakelin, William Taylor, John Pike, and Ralph Garrett; their or some of their Servants; and for Sixteen Horses and Geldings; and for a proportionable Number of Arms for so many Horses and Men; and Monies, not exceeding the Sum of Three hundred Pounds; to be shipped on board any Ship or Vessel at Dover or Rye, to be transported into any the Parts beyond the Seas: And that all Customers, Comptrollers, and Searchers, and others whom that may concern, do permit and suffer the said Persons, Horses, Arms, and Monies, to be shipped and transported at either of the said Ports accordingly.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page;

The Lords have commanded us to return you this Ordinance: It is for allowing the Eight hundred Pounds per Annum to the Bishop of Duresme: The Lords do agree to it, with this Addition; to which they desire your Concurrence:-An Ordinance for adding some to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Irish Affairs; to which the Lords agree, with this Addition; to which they desire your Concurrence: And an Ordinance for Giles Astley Clerk to be Rector of Solyhull, alias Sillhill, in the County of Warwick; to which they desire your Concurrence.

The Addition to the Ordinance concerning the Allowance to the Bishop of Duresme was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

The Names, desired by the Lords to be added to the Committee for Irish Affairs, were read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

Resolved, &c. That, as to the Ordinance for Mr. Giles Astley to be Rector of Solyhull, or Sillhill, in the County of Warwick; this House will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Resolved, &c. That Sir William Waller and Mr. Wallopp be, and are hereby, added to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Irish Affairs.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Answer returned by the same Messengers;

The House hath considered your Message: And, as to the Addition to the Ordinance for Maintenance for the Bishop of Duresme; and the Names to be added to the Committee for Irish Affairs; they do agree: And, as to the Ordinance concerning Mr. Giles Astley; they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ordered, That, Thursday next, peremptorily, the first Business, the Business concerning North-Wales be taken into Consideration: And that Mr. Speaker do put the House in mind hereof.

Ordered, by the Lords and Commons, assembled in Parliament, That the Earl of Northumberland, Earl of Essex, Earl of Nottingham, Lord Viscount Say and Seale, the Lord Lisle, Sir John Temple, Mr. Nathanael Fienis, Sir Gregory Norton, Sir John Evelyn of Wiltes, and Mr. Challener, be added to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Irish Affairs.

Ordered, by the Lords and Commons, assembled in Parliament, That the Bishop of Duresme shall be allowed Eight hundred Pounds per Annum, to be paid Halfyearly, by equal Portions, out of the Rents and Revenues of the said Bishoprick, by those that shall receive the same by Appointment of Parliament: Who are hereby required to pay the same accordingly to the said Bishop, or to any whom he shall appoint to receive the same: The first Payment to be made out of the first Rents that shall be received after the Date hereof.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be nominated, to consider of a further Enumention of scandalous Offences, for which a Person guilty may be suspended from the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper; and to advise herein with the Assembly of Divines, or such of them as the Assembly shall think fit: And are to meet de die in diem; and to present it to the House with all convenient Speed.

Ordered, That all the Members of this House that are of the Assembly of Divines, shall be this Committee; with the Addition of Mr. Holles, Sir Phil. Stapilton, Mr. Grymston, Sir Henry Cholmley, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Francis Bacon, Mr. John Stephens, Mr. Nath. Bacon, Mr. Whitehead: And all that will come, are to have Voices: And the Care hereof is more particularly referred to Mr. Tate and Mr. Francis Bacon: And are to meet this Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer-Chamber.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Widdrington shall have Leave to go into the Country for Seven or Eight Days.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto George Speake, of Lackinden in the County of Somersett, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Richard Brereton, of Ashley in the County of Chester, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Stephen Soame, of Thurloe in the County of Suffolke, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Humphry Walcott, of Walcott in the County of Salopp, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Ordered, &c. That the Sum of One hundred and Seventy Pounds, paid by Humphry Walcott, of Walcott in the County of Salopp, Esquire, to the Committee of Lords and Commons sitting at Haberdashers-Hall, for Advance of Monies, for or in Name of his Fifth, and Twentieth-Part, shall be allowed and accepted by the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall, in Part of Payment of the Remainder of such Monies as are to be paid in by the said Humphry Walcott to the said Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall, for his Fine for his Delinquency: And that the said Committee of Goldsmiths-Hall do allow of the said One hundred and Seventy Pounds accordingly.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Edward Andrewes, of Greye's-Inn, Gentleman; and Tho. Pagett, of Westdraydon in the County of Middlesex, Esquire; for their Delinquencies, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of their Estates; was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

The humble Petition of George Wyther Serjeant-Major was this Day read; and ordered to be referred unto Sir Henry Heyman, Sir Antho. Irby, Colonel Norton, Mr. Sandys, Sir Robert Pye, Mr. Love, Mr. Winwood, Sir Peter Wentworth, Sir Sam. An Ordinance for granting divers Lands of Sir Jacob Astley's, in the County of Kent, unto Mr. John Stephens, a Member of this House, and his Heirs for ever, in Recompence of his Losses, was this Day read the First time; and ordered, upon the Question, to be now read the Second time.

The said Ordinance was thereupon read; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Nathanael Fiennes, Sir Robert Pye, Sir Antho.
