Prayes.

ORdered, That Sir Nevill Poole shall have Leave to go into the Country for a Month, from the Time of his going out of Town: And that his Service in the House be, during that time, dispensed with.

An Ordinance for the Payment of several Pensions to the Servants of the Family of the King's Children, during their Lives, or until they shall be re-invested in their several Places, from which, upon the Reducement of that Family, they were lately suspended, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto the former Committee; with the Addition of Mr. Recorder, Sir Anthony Irby, Mr. Holland, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Rous, Sir Robert Pye, Mr. Sandys, Sir Simon D' Ewes, Mr. Wheeler, Mr. Thorpe, Sir Edmund Fowell, and Sir John Evelyn junior.

A Letter from Colonel-General Pointz, from Bingham, of 3 Novembris, 1645, concerning the Taking in of Shelford-House; with the Copy of the Summons to the Governor, and the Governor's Answer inclosed; were this Day read.

Ordered, That the Messenger that brought the Letter from Colonel-General Pointz, of the good News of takeing in Shelford-House, shall have Twenty Pounds bestowed upon him for his Pains: And that the Committee of Lords and Commons for Advance of Monies, sitting at Haberdashers-Hall, do forthwith pay the said Twenty Pounds.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Resolved, &c. That my Lord Lisle shall have the Allowance of Fifteen hundred Pounds, out of the Fifth, and Twentieth-Part of such Persons as he shall discover to the Committee at Haberdashers-Hall, not yet discovered; the said Fifteen hundred Pounds to be paid upon Account, and to be deducted out of the Arrears due unto him for his Service in Ireland.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Mr. Speaker acquainted the House, That he had received a Letter from one John Musgrave, a Prisoner in the Fleete, with a Petition inclosed.

The Letter was of 28th October 1645; and was read; and likewise the Petition; and was, concerning Mr. Richard Barwis, a Member of this House, and others, employed in the Service of the Parliament: And

It is thereupon Ordered, That this Letter, Petition, and Papers, be referred to the Committee to whom the Papers formerly brought in from the Scotts Commissioners, and from the said Musgrave and one Osmotherley, were referred: Who are to take the same into Consideration; and also, a printed Pamphlet, intituled, "England's Birthright;" and to report their Opinions thereupon to the House.

Ordered, That Mr. Scawen be heard on Monday Morning, concerning the Business of the Army: And that, after him, Sir Walter Erle report the Business concerning the Stores: And that, the next Business, Sir John Northcote do report the Business concerning Mr. Tregonnell's Fine.

A Message from the Lords, by Serjeant Ayloffe and Dr. Heath;

The Lords have sent you a Letter to be sent to the King of Denmarke, concerning Sir John Henderson, and Instructions for the Agent that shall be sent into Denmarke: To which they desire your Concurrence:-A Committee of both Houses, to take into Consideration the Business of ChurchGovernment, as is contained in this Paper: An Ordinance for Increase of Maintenance for the Parish of Kirtling in the County of Cambridge: To which they do likewise desire your Concurrence.

Ordered, That the whole Business of this Message be taken into Consideration, the first Business, on Monday Morning: And that no other Business do then intervene: And that Mr. Speaker do put the House in mind hereof.

The House will take your Message into speedy Consideration; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

The Declaration touching the Proceedings of this House, in the Matter of Church-Government, was this Day read the Second time.

The Question was propounded, Whether this Declaration shall be laid aside for the present:

And then there being some Difference about these Words, "for the present;"

And the Question being put, Whether these Words, "for the present," shall be Part of the Question;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

Resolved, &c. That this Declaration be laid aside for the present.

Resolved, &c. That whensoever this Declaration shall be taken into Consideration, that a Day shall be appointed for it: And that it shall not be taken into Consideration but between the Hours of Ten and Twelve.
