Prayers.

WHereas Edmund Prideaux Esquire, late one of the Commissioners of the Great Seal, had, for his Service performed in that Charge, One thousand Pounds granted him, to be paid unto him by the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall, out of such Delinquents Fines and Compositions, as he should nominate to the said Committee: It is this Day Ordered, upon the Question, That the said One thousand Pounds, so granted, as aforesaid, be paid unto the said Mr. Prideaux, or his Assigns, out of the Fine set upon Sir John Hele for his Delinquency: And that Mr. Nathan Wright, to whom the said Fine is payable, do, out of the same, pay the said One thousand ...... accordingly: And that the Acquittance of the said Mr. Prideaux, or his Assigns, together with this Order, shall be a sufficient Warrant and Discharge to the said Mr. Nathan Wright, for the Payment thereof.

The humble Certificate of the Committee of Accompts, concerning Colonel William Purefoy's Accompt, a Colonel of a Regiment of Horse, and Captain of a Troop of Horse, in the Service of the Parliament, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, approved of: And it appears by the said Certificate, that, all Things being deducted, that ought to be deducted, there is an Arrear owing unto him, the Sum of One thousand Five hundred Sixty-one Pounds Nine Shillings and Ten-pence, comprising so much of his Entertainment, which is respited upon the Publick Faith: And

It is Ordered, upon the Question, That the said Sum of One thousand Five hundred Sixty-one Pounds Nine Shillings and Ten-pence be paid unto the said Colonel William Purefoy, in full Discharge of all Demands by him, upon his Entertainment in the Service of the Parliament: And that the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall do pay the said One thousand Five hundred Sixty-one Pounds Nine Shillings and Ten-pence unto the said Colonel William Purefoy, out of the Fines and Compositions of Sir Robert Fisher, and Mr. John Stanford, Delinquents, of Warwickshire: And that the Acquittance of the said Colonel William Purefoy, together with this Order, shall be a sufficient Warrant and Discharge to the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall, and the Treasurers there, for the Payment of the One thousand Five hundred Sixty-one Pounds Nine Shillings and Tenpence accordingly.

Ordered, That the Petition, this Day desired to be delivered by divers Merchants, be read on Monday next; that Day being appointed for the Business of Trade.

Ordered, That, on Wednesday next, the particular Ordinances lying in the House, for supplying Churches with godly and able Ministers, be read, and taken into Consideration.

An Ordinance for Repairing of Churches, and for Payment of Church-Duties, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Maynard, Mr. John Ashe, Sir John D'Avers, Mr. Nathanael Bacon, Mr. Francis Bacon, Mr. Rous, Sir Edward Partherich, Sir Gilbert Gerard, Mr. Grimston, Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Wheeler, Mr. Stockdale, Sir William Lewes, Mr. Gourdon, Mr. Crewe, Mr. Pury, Mr. Boys, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Harrington, Mr. Knightley, Mr. Tate, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Baynton, Sir Philip Stapilton, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. White, Mr. Holles, Mr. Strode: And all that will come, to have Voices: And they are to meet upon it on Friday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer-Chamber.

And the more particular Care of this Business is referred unto Mr. Francis Bacon.

An Ordinance for the better Increase of Ministers within the Realm of England was this Day read the First and Second time:

And the Question being put, For Committing of it;

It passed with the Negative.

And then the Question was put, For the Ingrossing: And

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That the House be adjourned till Friday Morning next, at Eight of Clock.

And the House adjourned itself accordingly.
