PRAYERS.

Leave of Absence.

ORDERED, That Sir John Coke shall have the Leave of this House to go into the Country, and to stay a Month.

Letters to the States General, &c.

Latin Letters to be signed by the Speakers of both Houses: 1. To the States General; 2. To the States of Holland; 3. To the States of Zealand; 4. To the States of Utrecht; 5. To the Town of Amsterdam: All thanking them for the Collections for the Irish Protestants, &c. and ending in Credential Manner, were this Day read; and assented unto and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence, by Sir Hen. Mildmay: Who is likewise to desire the Lords to expedite their Answer to the Ordinance concerning the excluding such Members as have deserted the Parliament; to the Ordinance for Explanation of the Ordinance constituting the Committee of both Kingdoms.

He likewise carried up the Ordinance for additional Power to the Committee for the Militia; The Ordinance for Two hundred Pounds per Week, out of Haberdashers Hall, to the maimed Soldiers; The Ordinance for Ten Pounds to Lieutenant Stringer, out of Haberdashers Hall.

Excise.

An Ordinance for setting an Excise upon Commodities not yet excised, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon Question, committed unto Mr. Maynard, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Cage, Mr. Green, Sir Simonds D'Ewes, Sir Walt. Erle, Sir Rob. Pye, Mr. Rolle, Mr. Jo. Ashe, Mr. Rich. Browne, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Whittlock, Sir Wm. Massam, Mr. Holland, Mr. Sam. Browne: And all that will come are to have Voices: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, &c. And are to meet on Monday next, at Two post Meridiem, in the Exchequer Chamber.

Kent, &c. Association.

Mr. Whitehead reports the Amendments to the Ordinance for the Association of Kent, Sussex, Surry, and Hants: The which were read; and, upon Question, assented unto: And the Ordinance, with the Amendments, passed, upon the Question; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence, by Mr. Whitehead.

Publick Stores.

A Letter from my Lord Fairefaxe, desiring Provision of Horse Arms to be furnished to Colonel Sandys for his Regiment, raised by him upon his Lordship's Commission, was this Day read.

Resolved, &c. That Four hundred Pair of Pistols, and Four hundred Swords, shall be furnished out of the publick Stores, and sent to the Magazine at Hull; and disposed of, so many of them as his Lordship shall think fit, to furnish Colonel Sandys his Regiment; and the rest to be disposed of as his Lordship shall think fit.

Condale's, &c. Petition.

The humble Petition of Arth. Condale, and others, Carpenters in Westminster, was this Day read; and ordered, upon the Question, to be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for his Majesty's Revenue.

Island of Jersey.

The humble Petition of divers well-affected late Inhabitants of the Island of Jersey, &c. was this Day read; and ordered to be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of the Navy, to consider of some fit Way for reducing the said Island; and for Relief of the Petitioners; and for reducing of the Island of Guernesay.

Excise of Flesh.

Ordered, That the Ordinance concerning the Excise of Flesh shall be read the first Business, on Monday Morning next.

Buckingham, &c. Committees.

An Ordinance for appointing and enabling Committees in the several Counties of Bucks, Berks, and Oxon, to put in Execution this present Ordinance, and several other Ordinances of both Houses of Parliament, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon Question, committed unto the Committee for the Counties of Oxon, Bucks, and Berks: And are to meet upon it this Afternoon, at Two post Meridiem, in the Exchequer Chamber: And have Power to send for Parties, &c.

Answer from Lords.

Sir Hen. Mildmay brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Ordinance concerning the Committee of the Militia; and to the Order for Ten Pounds, out of the Excise, to Lieutenant Stringer: And to the other Messages and Ordinances carried up by him, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Luke's Arrears.

A Letter from my Lord General, from Bedding, of June the Tenth, concerning the Arrears to Sir Sam. Luke, as Scout Master General, was this Day read.

Leicestershire.

Mr. Lisle reports the Amendments to the Ordinance concerning Leicestershire: The which were read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and the Ordinance appointed to be fair written, so amended.

Leicestershire, &c. Forces.

Ordered, That the Committee, where Mr. Knightly has the Chair, concerning the Leicestershire and other Forces under my Lord Grey, do meet * * *.

Excise.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edw. Leech and Dr. Aylett;

The Lords have returned the Ordinance for Two hundred Pounds per Week out of the Excise, with one Alteration; and do agree to the said Ordinance, with the said Alteration.

The Alteration was, "the Pay appointed for the Lord General's Army being first satisfied:" The which was read: And

It is Resolved, &c. That this House doth insist upon the Ordinance as it went from hence.

Vintners.

Ordered, That the Report concerning the Vintners be made on Monday Morning next.

Money for Army.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed for my Lord General's Monies for his Army, and for raising of Monies, where Mr. Millington has the Chair, do meet this Afternoon: And

It is Ordered, upon the Question, That the Letter from my Lord General, of June the Tenth, concerning the Scout Master General, be recommended to the Consideration of this Committee.

Wilts Ordinance.

Ordered, That the Ordinance concerning Wilts be read on Monday Morning next.

Message from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Rob. Riche and Mr. Page;

That the Lords have returned the Ordinance concerning the Four associated Counties, which they agree unto, with the Addition of Captain James Temple for Sussex.

They likewise desire a Conference, concerning the Ordinance for excluding the Members of both Houses, that have deserted the Parliament.

Answer returned by the First Messengers; That this House will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Conference.

Answer returned by the Second Messengers; That this House doth agree to the Amendment, sent down by the Lords; and do agree to a present Conference, as is desired.

Maimed Soldiers.

Mr. Holland went up to the Lords, to desire them, that, at this next Conference, some Reasons may be offered concerning the Ordinance for maimed Soldiers, this Day sent up: And

Brings Answer, The Lords do agree to the same.

Sir Richard Holford, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Pelham do report, on Monday next, what Resolutions the Committee have made to present to this House, concerning Sir Richard Holford, and those that are come in upon the Declaration.

Sequestrations.

Ordered, That the Committees for Sequestrations in the several Counties, do not discharge any Lands or Goods of any Person, sequestred or sequestrable, without first receiving Order from this House: And the Committees of the several Counties are to take notice of this Order.
