PRAYERS.

Privilege.

RESOLVED, &c. That John Senior, Plaintiff, William Warde, Wm. Hawkes, and Thomas Grafton, Serjeants, who served an Execution upon John Arthur, a Servant to Mr. Bond, a Member of this House, be forthwith sent for, as Delinquents, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House; for his Contempt, and Breach of the Privilege of Parliament: And that they continue Prisoners, until the said Senior shall take off the Execution and discharge the said Arthur, arrested in Contempt of the Privilege of this House.

Letters to Earl of Leven, &c.

Resolved, &c. That the Blank in the Letters to the Earl of Leven; the Committee of Convention of Estates; and the Commissioners with the Scotts Army; shall be filled up with the Sum of Twenty thousand Pounds.

Commissioners with Scotts Army.

Ordered, That the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall do send some Monies to the English Commissioners with the Scotts Army, towards the defraying of their publick Expences and Charges.

Excluding Members.

Sir Walt. Erle is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire them to expedite and dispatch the Ordinance for excluding such Members of either House, without the Consent of both Houses, that have deserted the Parliament.

Committee of both Kingdoms.

Resolved, &c. That the Ordinance for the Committee of both Kingdoms, shall continue for Three Months longer, from the Expiration of the Ordinance now in Force: And that Mr. Prideaux do prepare an Ordinance to this Purpose; and bring it in presently.

Contract for Bullet.

Resolved, &c. That the Committee at Haberdashers Hall make the Contract, and pay the Monies, for Provision of Twelve Ton of Bullet for my Lord General's Army.

Aylisbury Garison.

Ordered, That the Fifteen hundred Pounds, in the Treasurer's Hand of the County of Bedford, be paid in, for the present Supply and Relief of the Garison of Aylesbury, if it shall appear not to be any of the Sequestration Monies; and that the same be repaid out of the Monies assigned to the Garison of Aylesbury, out of the Court of Wards, according to the Assignment: And that it be referred to Sir Beauchamp St. John, and Mr. Whitlock, to inquire into the State of the said Fifteen hundred Pounds: and to report To-morrow, of what Condition it is.

Committee of both Houses.

An Ordinance for Continuance the Committee of both Kingdoms.

The and Commons, in Parliament assembled, do Ordain and Declare, That the Ordinance, intituled, "An Ordinance for the appointing a Committee of both Houses of Parliament to join with the Committees and Commissioners of Scotland, for the better manageing the Affairs of both Nations, in the common Cause, according to the Ends expressed in the late Covenant and Treaty between the Two Nations of England and Scotland," shall have Continuance, and every Clause, and Article, and Sentence, therein contained, for and during the Space of Three Months, from the Time of the Expiration of the former Ordinance, and no longer.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to this Ordinance; and that it be sent to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Message to Lords.

Sir H. Mildmay carried up this Ordinance to the Lords, for their Concurrence: And was to desire a Conference, by a Committee of the whole House, so soon as shall stand with their Lordships Conveniency, concerning the Matter of the late Conference, touching the Earl of Manchester's Ordinance, and touching the Privilege of this House.

Tents seized.

Ordered, That the Tents taken among the Goods of the Lord Cravon's, that were seized for the Fifth, and Twentieth Part, set upon him by the Lords, be delivered in to the Master of the Ordnance, to be kept in for the Use of the Publick, in the publick Stores.

Money due to Dawes.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the King's Revenue, to require the Commissioners of the Customs to pay in the Residue of the Fees and Salary due to Sir Thomas Dawes, and Mr. John Dawes his Brother, according to the Order of Friday last: And that they inquire into the State of the Business; receive their Answer; and report the whole Matter to the House.

Army Establishment.

Resolved, &c. That there shall be allowed to every Surgeon of my Lord General's Army, for furnishing of his Chest, Fifteen Pounds.

Resolved, &c. That the Two hundred and Forty Pounds, for the Surgeons Chests for my Lord General's Army, shall be taken out of the Recruit-money in the Treasurer's Hands, and repaid by the Committee at Haberdashers Hall.

Resolved, &c. That this Two hundred and Forty Pounds, for the Surgeons Chests, shall be paid into the Master of the Company of Surgeons, to provide Medicaments, and to furnish the Chests, and to deliver them to their respective Colonels.

Resolved, &c. That Thomas Herbet Esquire, and Harcourt Leyton Esquire, shall be Two of the Commissioners appointed to reside in the Lord General's Army, according to the Ordinance for that Army.

Ordered, That Mr. Scawen do prepare the Establishment for my Lord General's Army: And that the Committee do peruse and examine the said Establishment, and report it to the House.

Resolved, &c. That Colonel Pindar shall be one other of the Commissioners to reside in my Lord General's Army; and Sir Jo. Bamfield is to acquaint him herewith, and to know his Resolution.

Ordinances to be read.

Ordered, That the Ordinances concerning the associated Counties, and concerning Shropshire, be read To-morrow Morning.

Answer from Lords.

Sir H. Mildmay brings Answer, That the Lords, to both Messages, will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Dixewell's Petition.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of Elizabeth Dixewell, Widow, late Wife of Colonel Mark Dixwell, be read To-morrow Morning.

Lords agree to Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Page and Dr. Aylett;

The Lords do agree to give a present Meeting at a free Conference, as is desired, upon the Matter desired by the last Message.

The House accordingly went up to the Conference.

Estwick's Arrears, &c.

Ordered, That the Committee at Haberdashers Hall do pay the Thousand Pounds Arrear and due to Mr. Estwick unto the Committee for the Scottish Affairs at Goldsmiths Hall, who hath undertaken to secure the Repayment thereof to Mr. Estwick; and likewise that Mr. Trenchard pay the Sum of Five hundred Pounds, due to Sir Gilb. Gerard, to the said Committee.

Lords agree to Orders.

Mr. Nicoll brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Order for Five thousand Pounds for Sir Wm. Waller's Brigade; and to the Order for Ten thousand Pounds for my Lord General's Army.

Reducing Salop.

An Ordinance for raising Monies for maintaining Forces for reducing the County of Salop to the Obedience of the Parliament, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon Question, committed unto Lieutenant of the Tower, Mr. Ashherst, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Pierrepont, Sir Jo. Corbett, Sir Wm. Brereton, Mr. Millington, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Pury, Sir Jo. Cursan, Mr. Noble, Mr. Hoyle, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Bosevile, Mr. Longe, Mr. Bond, Mr. Herbert, Sir Walt. Erle, Mr. Browne, Sir Tho. Middleton, Mr. Tate, Mr. Whitelock, Mr. Thelvall, Mr. White, Sir Robert Harley, Sir Hen. Mildmay, Mr. Grantham, Mr. Spurstoe, Mr. Mountague, and all the Burgesses of Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire, and Gloucestershire: And are to meet To-morrow, at Three of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records. And the humble Petition of divers Gentlemen of the County of Salop, this Day presented to the House, is referred to the Consideration of this Committee.

Lady Shelleye.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Business concerning the Lady Shelleye's Money is referred, do make Report of that Business To-morrow Morning, peremptorily.

Court of Wards.

Sir Jo. Trevor and Mr. Ashherst are appointed to go to the Master of the Court of Wards; to acquaint him, that Sir Wm. Brereton waits, upon the Assignment upon the Court of Wards; and that the publick Service suffers much by his Stay here; and to desire, that the gathering in of the Arrears of the Court of Wards may be put in speedy Execution.

Army Establishment.

Upon Mr. Scawen's Report from the Committee to whom the Establishment of the Lord General's Army was referred;

Resolved, &c. That only one chief Engineer at Ten Shillings, and a Clerk to him at Two Shillings Sixpence, per diem, and Four other Engineers at Six Shillings each per diem, and Ten Conductors for Trenches at Two Shillings Sixpence each; which in all amounts to Three Pounds One Shilling and Six-pence; shall be established and allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That Sixteen Gentlemen of the Ordnance shall be allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That Twelve Conductors of Carriages shall be allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That Five Miners shall be allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That One hundred and Fifty Pioneers shall be allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That One hundred and Sixty Matrosses shall be allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That Sixteen Ordinary Carpenters shall be allowed upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That Three Tent-makers, and Three Servants, shall be settled upon the Establishment.

Resolved, That the Office and Entertainment of Commissary for Distribution of Victuals, and his Two Clerks, be taken away.

The like for the Ensign, and Trumpet, and the Assistant to the Lieutenant General.

Transporting Lead.

Ordered, That the Heer Van Rinswood, one of the States Ambassadors, shall have Liberty to bring out of the Enemy's Quarters to Hull, from thence to be transported, Two hundred Fodder of Lead; the said Ambassador paying the Custom due for the Lead, and making all other Payments for the Value of the Lead here in London, and buying the same of Mr. Lewcie, Merchant of London: And that my Lord Fairefax do quietly permit and suffer the said Quantity of Two hundred Fodder of Lead to be brought out of the Enemy's Quarters into the Port of Hull, by the Agents of the said Ambassadors, and for his Use; and that his Agents be further permitted to lade the said Lead aboard any Ship or Vessel to be transported for Holland, after such time as the Customs are satisfied for the same, at the Custom-house in London: And that thereupon Certificate be made, by the Commissioners of the Customs, of the same, unto the Customers, Collectors, and other Officers, in the said Port of Hull, to take Entries thereof, and permit and suffer the same to pass accordingly.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to see the Conditions performed accordingly, concerning the Lead to be delivered for the Use of one of the States Ambassadors.

Business deferred.

Resolved, &c. That the Propositions for Peace be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning, at Nine of Clock: And Mr. Speaker is to put the House in mind thereof: And that the Advice of the Assembly, concerning the Ordination of Ministers, be taken into Consideration on Wednesday Morning next, at Nine of Clock: And the Speaker is to put the House in mind hereof; and so alternis vicibus, till they be determined.
