PRAYERS.

Advance for Plymouth.

ORDERED, That Mr. Whaddon, a Member of this House, be hereby authorized to receive the Four thousand Pounds promised by the City of London to be lent, out of the Fifty thousand Pounds advanced by the City, to be employed for the Service of Plymouth; and to be accountable to the House for the same: And that an Acquittance, under the Hand of the said Mr. Whaddon, shall be a sufficient Discharge to the Treasurers for so much as they shall pay upon this Order.

Relief of Ireland.

An Ordinance to enable the Committee of this House, and of Adventurers in London, for Irish Affairs, appointed by the Ordinance of the Fourteenth of July, to manage and dispose of the Loans and Contributions for the Relief of Ireland, that shall come in upon the Ordinance of the Thirtieth of January 1642, was this Day read; and ordered to be referred to the Committee of Adventurers for Ireland; together with the Account of the Monies received and issued upon the Ordinance of the Thirtieth of January: Who are to meet this Afternoon upon them.

Raising Money in London.

An Ordinance, grounded upon the Act of Common Council of the Eleventh of August, for raising of Monies within the City of London, and Liberties; together with a Proviso, to exempt the Members, Assistants, and necessary Attendants, of both Houses.

Information against Dorman.

A Letter from Sir Anth. Welden, of the Sixteenth of August; with the Informations concerning one Dorman, that was a chief Actor in the late Insurrection; And it is Ordered, That the whole Business, against the said Dorman, be referred to the Examination of the Committee of Five, appointed to examine the late Plot: And Sir H. Heyman is to write a Letter to * * * *

Sir William Waller's, &c. Arrears.

Ordered, That the particular Fines set upon divers Gentlemen, and others, of the County of Sussex, by the Council of War at Chichester, at the taking thereof, be deducted out of the Monies that come in upon the Sequestrations in that County; and that, out of those Monies so deducted, the Arrears due to Sir Wm. Waller, Sir Arth. Haselrig, Sir Mich. Livesay, and Captain Dewett, for their Service done in that County and City, be forthwith paid unto them, and every of them, respectively.

Soldiers to repair to their Colours.

Ordered, That all Soldiers, that have been entertained in the Army of my Lord General, and do stand upon the List, that have gone from that Army without any lawful Discharge, do forthwith, upon Pain of Death, repair to their Colours; and that no Man entertain any Soldier, listed in my Lord General's Army, without his Consent: And that such as shall return shall be cloathed in the same manner as those that have continued, and are still remaining in the Army.

It is further Ordered, That this Order be published and proclaimed, by Beat of Drum, in all Parts and Quarters of the Cities of London, Westminster, Suburbs, Liberties, Borough of Southwarke, and Lines of Communication: And if any Soldier of my Lord General's Army shall not hereupon depart, and repair to the Army, he shall be apprehended, and sent to my Lord General, to be proceeded against according to the Law of War: And it is referred to the Committee of the Militia of London, to take care, that this Order be forthwith published, executed, and observed, in all Points and Parts thereof.

Resolved, and Ordered, to be sent unto the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Earl of Lindsey's Servants, &c.

Ordered, That the Servants, Four Horses, Saddles, and Furniture, Swords, Coats, Trunks, and Goods therein, which were going to Oxforde, to the Earl of Lindsey, and his Servants, and sent for back by Order of this House, shall be forthwith discharged, and permitted to go to Oxforde, without the Lett, Hindrance, or Interruption of any; according to the Warrant of my Lord General.

Army Affairs.

Mr. Pym, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Holland, Mr. Bond, Mr. Rob. Goodwyn, Mr. Jo. Browne, and the Gentlemen of Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and Hants, are appointed to go into the City this Afternoon; and to press on the Matter of Money, for my Lord General, to enable his Excellency suddenly to march; and to consider what Forces, that are raised, or may be raised, in the City of London, or Counties of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and Hantshire, or in any other Parts, are fit to march, for the present Assistance of the Lord General, for the Relief of Gloucester.

This Committee is to consider of the Debate now had, of the disposing of the Army to march; and of sending a Committee to my Lord General; and of disposing the City of London, and all other Parts, for Men and Money, for Relief of the Army: And to meet presently, in the Court of Wards: And to present the same To-morrow, by Seven of Clock.

Impresting Soldiers.

Ordered, That Two thousand Men be forthwith raised, by way of Press, according to the Power, Limitations, and Directions, of the late Ordinance of Impresting, out of the Cities of London, Westminster, the Liberties, Soburbs, Borough of Southwark, and Parishes within the Bills of Mortality; to be forthwith sent to recruit my Lord General's Army: And the Execution of this Order is referred to the Lord Mayor, and the Committee of the Militia of London. Provided, that this Order shall not give Power for the impresting of any Person or Persons, who, by any former Order or Orders, are excepted.

Imprest Money.

Ordered, That Two hundred Pounds be forthwith delivered, upon Account, to the Committee of the Militia at London, out of Sir John Gowre's Money, upon the Ordinance of the Twenty-ninth of November, at Haberdashers Hall, for the Imprest and Conduct Money to the Two thousand appointed to be raised forthwith to recruit my Lord General's Army.

Message to Lords.

Mr. Recorder is appointed to carry up to the Lords . . . . for levying Monies within the Cities of London, Westminster, &c: The Orders, for my Lord General's Soldiers to repair to their Colours: For Impresting Two thousand Men to recruit my Lord General's Army; for Two hundred Pounds for Imprest and Conduct Money.

House to rise.

Ordered, That the House shall rise every Day peremptorily, at One of Clock at the farthest; and sooner, if the Occasions of the House will give Leave.

Impresting Soldiers.

Ordered, That Two thousand Men be raised, by way of Imprest, according to the Power, Limitations, and Directions, of the late Ordinance of Impresting out of the Counties of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and Hampshire; to be forthwith sent to recruit my Lord General's Army: And that the Care of putting this Order in Execution be referred to the Deputy Lieutenants, and Committees, of the several and respective Counties; according as is directed and appointed by the said Ordinance.

Answer from Lords.

Mr. Recorder brings Answer, that, as to the Ordinance for raising of Monies; and the Ordinance for raising Recruits; they will send Answer by Messengers of their own; and as to the Ordinance for my Lord General's Soldiers to repair to their Colours, they do agree unto it.

Message from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Dr. Aylett;

The Lords have returned Two Ordinances, which they assent unto, with the Additions sent down with them.

They likewise desire a Conference by a Committee of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning the King and Queen's Houses.

The Additions were read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto.-

Army Recruits.

Sir Philip Stapleton is appointed to write to my Lord General, to send some Officers of Foot to receive Recruits appointed to be raised for his Excellency's Army.-

Answer to Lords.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; that this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to the Additions to both the Ordinances; and will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Exchange of a Prisoner.

Ordered, That Sir Christopher Yelverton shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant for a Servant of his to go to Oxon, upon the Occusion of the Exchange of a Son of his, taken Prisoner.

Prisoner discharged.

Ordered, That Nathaniel White, one of Sir Arthur Hasilrigg's Troopers, and in Service of the Parliament under his Command, as appears by Certificate under Sir Arthur Hasilrigg's Hand, and now under Arrest, be forthwith discharged.

Payment to Aiscough.

Whereas Sir Edward Aiscough lent to Captain Hotham Twenty Pounds; it is Ordered, That the said Twenty Pounds be forthwith repaid unto the said Sir Edward Aiscough, or such as he shall appoint to receive the same, out of the Monies, Plate, and other Goods, seized at Hull: And the Committee at Hull is hereby required to repay the same accordingly.

Grant to Barry.

Ordered, That One hundred Pounds shall be bestowed upon Sir James Barry, out of the Monies that are come in or shall come in upon the Act of Contribution.

Lord Howard's Trunks.

Ordered, That the Trunks and Goods, seized by some Officers or Ministers of the Committee of Sequestrations, and suspected to be the Trunks and Goods of the Countess of Banbury, but do really belong to the Lord Edward Howard, as he himself affirms upon his Honour, and now remaining at Campden House, be forthwith restored unto the Lord Edward Howard, or such as he shall appoint to receive the same.

Countess of Banbury.

Ordered, That the Lords be desired to join with this House, that the Countess of Banbury be forthwith removed from this Town; or otherwise that her Person may be secured.

Declaration to Holland.

A Message from the Lords, by Serjeant Whitfeild and Serjeant Finch;

The Lords Yesterday received a Declaration to be sent into Holland, upon the Exhibits presented to the States of Holland, by Sir Wm. Boswell: They have this Day considered of it; and do agree unto it.

Royal Palaces.

Mr. Reynolds reports from the Conference; That the Lords had taken notice, the King's and Queen's Palaces had been searched, for Delinquents Goods: They were fearful, that, under this Pretence, the King's Goods might be imbezzled: They do desire, that some of the Lords and Commons might, for the future, be present at any Search, in any of the King's Houses, or Palaces.

Danish Ship.

Ordered, That a speedy Proceeding be had in the Court of Admiralty, against the Denmark Ship, and Goods, and Arms, brought in her; and that the Ship be stayed, and not permitted to go till the said Trial be had.

Windsor Castle.

Ordered, That the Committee, that goes to the Militia this Afternoon, do consider of relieving Windsor Castle.

Excise.

Mr. Niclas, Mr. Blaxton, Mr. White, Mr. Harbert, Mr. Cage, Mr. Serle, and Mr. Pelham, are added to the Committee for the Excise Ordinance.

Grant for Poole.

Ordered, That Three hundred Pounds be paid, out of the Monies brought in to Haberdashers Hall by Sir John Gower to Mr. Trenchard, for the Service of Poole.

Common Council.

Ordered, That Mr. Recorder do move the Lord Mayor to call a Common Council, to sit To-morrow at Five of Clock.

Lords to meet.

Ordered, That Serjeant Wilde and Sir Robert Pye do intimate to the Lords to meet betimes To-morrow.

Supply of Powder.

Ordered, That One hundred Barrels of Powder, in the Danish Ship, be delivered over to the Committee of the Safety, to the end Coventry and other Garison Towns may be supplied; and that Thirty Barrels be sent to Sir Wm. Bruerton.

Belfore's Pass.

Ordered, That a Pass be granted to Sir Wm. Belfore, and his Retinue, as the Lord General and House of Peers have granted unto him.
