PRAYERS.

Danish Ship.

RESOLVED, That the King of Denmarke's Ship sent up, going into Newcastle, and now in the River of the Thames, shall be visited.

Resolved, That Captain Bence, and Mr. Squire Bence, Mr. Beding field, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Vassall, Mr. Rolle, one of the Commissioners of the Customs, and the Marshal of the Admiralty, or any Three or more of them, shall, in the Presence of the Gentlemen of the King of Denmarke's, and the Captain, visit the Ship of the King of Demarke's, now in the River of Thames; break open Locks, and Hatches, and search her thoroughly; and report to the House what they find in her.

Ships to be stopped.

Ordered, That the foreign Post Master be required to make a Stop of all Letters going beyond Sea, till the House take further Order.

Money for Army.

Ordered, That the Money designed to my Lord Fairefaxe, and Sir Wm. Waller, shall be paid and issued out of the Monies assigned unto them for Payment, by former Orders; notwithstanding any other Order to the contrary: And that no Member of this House shall presume to sign any Warrant for Disposal of Monies, whereby those Monies may be diverted; as he will answer the contrary to the House.

Publick Money.

Sir Nevile Poole, Sir Martin Lister, Sir Hen. Anderson, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Rous, Sir Ben. Rudyard, Mr. Tho. Moore, Sir Jo. Corbett, Mr. Hobby, Mr. Selden, Mr. Knightley, Mr. Constantine, Mr. Pelham, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Whittlock, Mr. Cage, Mr. Tate, Lord Ruthen, Sir Wm. Litton, Mr. Barwis, Mr. Lucas, Sir Tho. Dacres;

This Committee, or any Four of them, are appointed to consider of the Power and Authority that is given to any Committee of Lords and Commons, or Committee of this House, by any Order or Ordinance, of one or both Houses, for the receiving or disposing of Monies; and forthwith to report it to the House; and to take notice of the Names of such several Committees as are entrusted with the Power of receiving and disposing of Monies: And the Clerk is required to send, to this Committee, Copies of all the Orders whereby any such Power is given to any Committee: And the Chairmen of such several Committees are likewise required to send, to this Committee, Copies of all such Orders whereby any such Power is given unto them: And the Care of this Business is especially recommended unto Mr. Reynolds; who is to give an Account of the Proceedings of this Committee herein, on Tuesday Morning next: And this Committee is appointed to meet this Afternoon, at Three of Clock, in the Duchy Court: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records.

Haberdashers Hall Revenue.

Ordered, That Mr. Strode, Mr. Corbett, and Mr. Bond, or any Two of them, do see what Monies, of the deposited Monies at Haberdashers Hall, are adjudged and determined; and take Order that those Monies be forthwith paid over to the Treasurers at Guildhall; who are hereby peremptorily enjoined to pay over Six hundred Pounds of the said Monies to Mr. Trenchard, upon Accompt, for the Use of Sir Wm. Waller.

Sequestrations.

Ordered, That the Committee of this House for Sequestrations, shall meet, and proceed to put the Ordinance for Sequestrations in Execution, according to such Explanations as they shall think fitting, and agreeable to the Sense of this House.

Hales' Assessment.

Resolved, &c. That Sir Edward Hales do, by Monday Night next, pay in the Twelve hundred and Fifty Pounds, assessed upon him by former Order of this House; and that this Money be paid over to Mr. Trenchard, upon Accompt, for the Use of Sir Wm. Waller.

Common Hall.

Mr. Marten is appointed to withdraw, to prepare something to be delivered unto the Common Hall this Afternoon.

Relief of Irish Protestants.

The House being informed, that divers. Divines of the Assembly were at the Door, and desired to offer something to this House, they were called in: And Dr. Burges, in the Name of the rest, acquainted the House, that, in Obedience to an Order of this House, the Assembly had prepared some Letters of Recommending to the Classes of the several and respective United Provinces, the Relief of the distressed Estate of the Protestants of Ireland.

The which Letters they presented: And then withdrew.

And the Letters, in Latin, were read; and approved of: And those Ministers again called in: And Mr. Speaker acquainted them, that the House approved well of the Letters:

And they were delivered unto the Divines again.

Lady Windesore's Plate, &c.

Ordered, That the Plate and Money seized on, and belonging to the Lady Windesore, be delivered, upon Account, to Mr. Rich. Moore of Shropshire, for the Service of the Forces under Colonel Mitton, one of the Colonels under the Earl of Denbigh.

Message to Lords.

Sir Rob. Pye carried up to the Lords the Ordinance concerning Huntingtonshire: The Ordinance concerning the Impropriation Monies: The Ordinance concerning old Anchors, Cables, and Ship Tackle: The Vindication of the late Oath and Covenant: The Vote for the Countess of Dorsett to be Governess to the King's Children at St. James's: And was to put the Lords in mind of the Ordinance for enabling the Committee of the Militia to command all the Forces of the Trained Bands, and others, within the Line of Communication.

Forces for Hull.

Ordered; That Mr. White, Agent for the Lord Fairefax, do pay out of the Monies consigned unto my Lord Fairfax, such Sums as shall be necessary for the present Payment of the Soldiers and Officers raised, and to be raised, in Norfolk and Suffolk, under the Command of Sir Wm. Constable, and for the shipping and transporting of them to Hull.

Irish Claimants.

Mr. Goodwyn reports from the Committee for Irish Affairs, divers Orders (with Schedules thereunto annexed) for Payment of Monies for Provisions delivered in Ireland; which were put to the Question, and assented unto: And further Ordered, That the Parties mentioned in the said Orders, shall be paid their Monies, out of the Adventurers Money for Ireland, and such Monies as shall be next raised for the Service of Ireland.

Earl of Portland, &c.

Mr. Erle went up to the Lords, to desire a free Conference, concerning their late Message about the Earl of Portland and Lord Conway.

London Forces.

Upon Mr. Glyn's Report of some Propositions from the City, it was Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Wm. Waller do command in chief all the Forces raised within the City of London; and all other Forces that are or shall be under the Command of the Militia of London, subordinate to the Lord Mayor and Militia.

Answers from Lords.

Sir Robert Pye brings Answer; the Lords will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Mr. Erle brings Answer; the Lords will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Safety of the City.

Sir Christopher Yelverton went up to the Lords to desire, that, at the next free Conference, the House may propound something concerning the Safety of the City.

Mr. Pym propounds the Heads of the Conference:

1. To give the City Thanks, at the Common Council this Afternoon, for their Assistance, in reducing of the Rebels in Kent.

2. To acquaint them with the Proclamation the King hath put out; prohibiting all Commerce with the City: And to desire the Lords to concur with this House, in appointing the Lord Mayor, &c. to take the Charge of the Tower; and in the Vote to nominate Sir Wm. Waller Commander in chief of the Forces raised in the City.

Sir Christopher Yelverton brings Answer, that the Lords give way, that, at the next Conference, any thing may be propounded for the Safety of the City.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Rob. Rich and Mr. Page;

The Lords have sent down the Ordinance for strengthening the City of London, which they do assent unto, with some Amendments; the which they have herewith sent down.

The Amendments were read, Viz.

In the Clauses, of listing all Persons:- That the Peers and Members of the House of Commons, or Assistants or Attendants to the House of Peers, and all their menial Servants; and the Students of the several Inns of Court and Chancery; should be excepted.

Irish Claimants.

Resolved, &c. That the publick Faith shall be given to those Persons this Day reported by Mr. Goodwyn, that have Monies owing unto them from this House, for the Service of Ireland.

Bishop of Rapho.

The Question being put, whether the Bishop of Rapho should have Fifty Pounds allowed him;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Speaker shall grant his Warrant to the Bishop of Raphoe to go to Oxford.

Sir K. Digby.

Resolved, &c. That Sir Kenelme Digby shall be examined, by Tuesday Morning next, by the Committee where Mr. Reynolds has the Chair: And Mr. Rous is added thereunto.

Resolved, That Sir Kenelme Digby shall be discharged, and go into France; and not return without Leave of the House.

Transporting Men to France:

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Speaker do grant his Warrant for the transporting of an Hundred Men into France, for the Service of the Earl of Erwyn.

And further Ordered, That the Two hundred Men, formerly stayed at Yarmouth, be discharged.

Lord Montnorris' Pass.

Resolved, &c. That my Lord Montnorris shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant to go into Ireland.

Army Affairs.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Safety do consider of the Matters to be imparted unto them from my Lord General, by the Officers of the Army.

Insurrection in Kent.

Ordered, That Mr. Recorder, in the Ordinance to be drawn up by him concerning the Actors in the Commotion in Kent, shall insert a Clause, that, out of the Estates of such as have appeared in this Commotion and Insurrection in Kent, the City shall be reimbursed such Monies as they have disbursed upon this Service of suppressing that Commotion in Kent.

Affairs in London.

Message from the Lords, by Sir Robert Riche and Mr. Page;

To acquaint this House, that they do concur in the appointing the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs of London, to have the Care of the Tower, during the Absence of the now Lieutenant: And likewise concur in their Desire of appointing Sir Wm. Waller Commander in chief of the Forces now raising in the City of London: Lastly, they have appointed a Committee of Five, to go down to the Common Hall, this Afternoon.

Mr. Pym, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Strode, Mr. Martyn, Sir G. Gerard, Mr. Ashehurste, Sir Jo. Clotworthy, Mr. Bainton, Sir Wm. Litton, Sir Hen. Vane;

This Committee is to go to the Common Hall, this Afternoon, with a proportionable Number of the Lords.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; that this House has appointed a proportionable Number, accordingly.

Hales' Sequestration.

Ordered, That the Goods seized, belonging to Sir Edw. Hales, shall be secured, and not disposed of till this House take further Order; and that an Inventory thereof be taken; and that his Study do continue sealed: And Sir Hen, Heyman, and Sir Tho. Dacres, are to see this Order put in Execution.

Ordered, That the Deputy Lieutenant in Kent do take care, that all the Goods belonging to Sir Edw. Hales be secured, and inventoried, and not disposed of, till this House take further Order.
