PRAYERS.
Raising Money on Papists, &c.
AN Ordinance for Raising of Monies upon Papists, Delinquents, and such as have been in actual War, or contributed to the War, against the Parliament, for maintaining the Forces raised in the County of Lincolne, was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence, by Mr. Millington.
Surrey Forces.
An Ordinance for Raising of Five hundred Dragooners in the County of Surrey, under the Command of Nicolas Stoughton, for the Defence of the said County; and for Raising of Monies upon Delinquents, Papists, Bishops, Dean and Chapter, &c. for Maintenance of the said Forces; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence, by Sir Rich. Onslowe.
Payment to Waller, &c.
WHEREAS Sir Wm. Waller, Serjeant Major General for the County of Gloucester, and other Counties adjacent, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Hodges, Mr. Jenner, and Mr. Ashe, Members of the House of Commons, have, for the advancing Gloucester for the publick Service of the Kingdom, taken up, and provided, at Interest, upon the particular Credits and Securities, the Sum of Four thousand Pounds; without which the said Forces could not march upon their present Expedition; It is therefore, Ordered, by the and Commons, That Sir Gilb. Gerard, Treasurers of the Army, shall forthwith issue and pay out of his first Receipts, upon Subscription or otherwise, the said Sum of Four thousand Pounds, with the Interest according to Eight Pounds per Cent., unto the said Members of the House of Commons.
Confession for Fast Day.
A Confession to be used in all Churches upon the Days of the publick Humiliation, returned from the Lords, with some Amendments; and, re-committed; and with some Amendments, this Day brought in; and read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be delivered unto the Lords at a Conference.
And Mr. Selden and Mr. Rous are appointed to manage this Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath;
The Lords have commanded us to bring down this Order, concerning Sir Francis Dodington Knight: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Treating with Irish Rebels.
A Letter from the Committees at Dublyn, of the Second of February, expressing a Commission sent over by Mr. Bourke, an Irish Gentleman, from his Majesty, directed to certain Persons of Quality, to enable them to meet with some of the Rebels, and to receive Propositions from them.

This Committee is to consider of the Letter this Day sent from the Committees at Dublyn, and of the whole Matter of the Treaty with the Rebels; and to prepare Heads for a Conference to be had with the Lords upon the whole Matter; and to prepare a Declaration upon it; and to think of some Letter of Encouragement to the Justices and Committees at Dublyn: And are to meet this Afternoon at Three of Clock, in the Court of Wards: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, &c.: And the Care hereof is especially recommended unto Mr. Glyn.
Exchange of Prisoners.
Ordered, That if General Ruthen shall procure the Delivery and Inlargement of Captain Wingate, that this House doth consent, that Sir Wm. Flemming shall be released: And that my Lord General be acquainted herewith.
Horses seized.
Ordered, That the Two Horses of Mr. Murrey, seized by Captain Harvey, be forthwith delivered over to Sir Wm. Waller.
Warrant to Smyth.
Ordered, That Mr. John Smyth, of London, shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant to go into Ireland, about Settling of Captain Baker's Affairs; and to return.
Seizing Coal Ships.
Ordered, That the Marshal of the Admiralty do forthwith seize the Ships that are come from Newcastle with Coals: And the Coals, and the Money that shall arise upon the Sale of the Coals, contrary to the Ordinance of both Houses, is referred to the Committee for the Navy; to examine the Masters of those Ships, concerning it, and the State of Newcastle: And Mr. Blakiston is to see this Order forthwith put in Execution.
Publick Faith.
Ordered, That the Publick Faith of the Kingdom shall be given * * * *.
Payment to Cupper.
Ordered, That the Receivers of the Adventurers Money for Ireland do forthwith pay unto Nicolas Loftus Esquire, or his Agents, the Sum of Thirty Pounds, to be by him or them paid over to Captain Cupper, or his Assignees, for Twenty Barrels of Beef, which he delivered into his Majesty's Stores at Cork, in Ireland.
Ordnance for Hull.
Ordered, That this House will give the Publick Faith of the Kingdom to the Merchant that has brought to Hull Four Brass Demy Culverins; and that those Four Brass Pieces be employed for the Service of the County of York, and Town of Hull.
Pass for Ld. Lindsey.
Ordered, That the Lord Lindsey shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant, for himself and his own Servants, to go to Oxford.
Granting Passes.
Ordered, That the Members of this House, that are of the Committee for the Defence of the Kingdom, shall have no Power to grant any Warrants, for any Man to go out of this Kingdom, that is not employed by them in the Affairs of this Kingdom.
Removing Prisoner.
Ordered, That Monsieur de Fountaine, who now is Prisoner in the Gatehouse in Westminster, shall be transmitted to the Compter in Woodstreet; being in for actually levying War against the Parliament: And that the Keeper of the Gatehouse be required to deliver him accordingly.
Malignants Estates.
Ordered, That Mr. Ashton do bring in an Ordinance to seize Malignants and Papists Estates.
Letter to be printed.
Ordered, That the Letter out of Lancashire shall be printed.
Raising Money.
Mr. Morley is to bring in an Ordinance, to raise Monies in the County of Sussex.
Irish Affairs.
Ordered, That the Business concerning Ireland shall be taken into Consideration To-morrow.
Money advanced to Army.
WHEREAS William Purefoy Esquire, a Member of this House, about Six Months since, was appointed by this House to go down into the County of Warwick and the County of the City of Coventry, for the Raising of some defensive Forces for the Safety of those Counties, against the Forces there levied against the King and Parliament; and that, in pursuance of the Trust in him reposed, he procured Five hundred Soldiers to come into Coventry to defend that City, and to aid the said County of Warwick against the Enemies approaching, and charging the said City in a hostile Way; and, for the better Effecting of the said Defence, by Payment of the said Soldiers Wages, was fain to borrow, for the publick Use, of Waldine Willington Esquire, One of the Collectors of the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds for the said County of Warwick, the Sum of Two hundred and Sixty Pounds, Parcel of his Collections: And forasmuch as this House thinketh it unreasonable, that the said Mr. Purefoy should be anywise charged to pay the said Sum of Two hundred and Sixty Pounds, which was truly disbursed to very good Purpose, for the publick Good, in the Payment of the said Soldiers Wages; without whose Help the said Castle must needs have been yielded up into the Enemies Hands: It is therefore Ordered, by this House, That the said Collector upon his Account, shall be allowed the said Sum of Two hundred and Sixty Pounds, and thereof acquitted and discharged for ever, by the Authority of Parliament: And this House doth undertake to advance and pay unto the Treasurers, appointed by that Act of Parliament, the like Sum of Two hundred and Sixty Pounds, to be employed for the Uses mentioned in the said Act.
