Leave of Absence.

SIR Wm. Dalston has Leave to go into the Country.

Languard Fort.

Ordered, That a Thousand Pounds, for the Succour of Languard Fort, shall be forthwith paid unto the Earl of Norwich, or his Assignees, out of the Monies come in upon the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds: And the former Order of the Sixth of July, for the Receiving of the said Thousand Pounds, out of the Contribution Monies, to be cancelled.

Arrears of Subsidy, &c.

A Draught of an Order concerning the better Payment and Bringing in the Arrears of the Subsidy, Poll-money, Contribution, and the Loan of One hundred thousand Pounds within the City of London, was this Day read; and re-committed unto Mr. Corbett, Mr. Ven, Mr. White, And are to withdraw upon it presently.

Repayment of Loans.

Ordered, That the Five hundred Pounds lent by Mr. Godskall Merchant, upon the Poll Bill, shall be forthwith paid out of the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds with Interest.

The like Order for Four hundred Pounds for Mr. Vaughan, with Interest.

Ordered, That Mr. Clobery, who lent One thousand Pounds upon the Poll Bill, for the Service of the Kingdom, shall be repaid, with Interest, out of the Monies that are collected upon the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds, in the County of Devon: And the Collectors of the said Monies in the County of Devon are hereby required to pay the same accordingly: And his Acquittance shall be allowed by the Treasurers in London.

Beudley Contribution.

Ordered, That the Town of Beudley, who have collected Seventy Pounds for the Relief of Ireland, shall detain in their Hands Ten Pounds, to be disposed of to the poor Passengers from Ireland, that come into or pass through that Town: And that they pay in the Residue of the Money to the Treasurers appointed to receive the same by the Act of Contribution.

Letter, &c. from Warwicke.

A Letter from the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Warwicke; and a Petition from the Captains and Officers of the said County.

Commission of Array, &c.

Ordered, That the Sheriff of Coventry shall have some Numbers of the Printed Declaration concerning the Illegality of the Commission of Array: And that he take Care for the Dispersing of them: And that he desire Mr. Barker, a Member of this House, to assist him: And that the Lords be acquainted with this Letter and Petition; and with the Information that is given to this House, that the Earl of Northampton does intend to come into the County, to put the Commission of Array in Execution: And to desire that the like Order may go for the Apprehending of him, as for the Earl of Lindsey; and the like for the Lord Coventry in Worcestershire; and for the Earl of Devon in Derbyshire; this House having received Information, that those Lords do intend to put the Commission of Array in Execution in those Counties.

Ordered, That Mr. Jesson do write his Letter to Coventry, to require them to be assistant to the Publishing of the Declaration and other Orders of the House; and to the Putting the Militia in Execution: And that he bring in the Letter on Monday Morning.

Reeve thanked, &c.

Ordered, That the House takes Notice of the good Service of J. Reeve, and thank him for it; and do leave it to his Consideration to punish the Parties complained of, according to his Discretion.

Sir Wm. Litton is appointed to carry up this Letter from the Deputy Lieutenants, and the Petition from the Officers and Captains of the County of Warwick, to the Lords: And to desire that this Letter and Petition may be printed.

Army Affairs.

Upon Sir Robert Crane's Report from the Committee appointed to consider of the Petition of Captain Arth. Chichester and others;

It was Resolved, upon the Question, That Captain Arth. Chichester, Mr. Hill, Lord Viscount Mountgomery, Sir James Montgomery, Lord Clanneboye, Sir Wm. Stewart, Sir Robert Stewart, Sir Wm. Cole, and Awdley Mervin, shall be received into Pay from the First of July, for their several Troops and Regiments of Horse and Foot.

Resolved, That the Six hundred Horse now informed to be in Service in Ulster, and not till now taken on in Pay, shall be formed into Troops of Dragooners, of an Hundred in each Troop.

Resolved, That there shall be a Month's Pay for each Regiment, advanced for Themselves and Companies.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Money be taken out of the Contribution Money.

Resolved, That for the Charge of Arms and Ammunition which they are engaged for, that when a certain List shall be brought in, that they think it fit that it should then be taken into Consideration.

The Question being put, whether a Time certain shall be limited for their Entertainment;

It went with the Negative.

Tyringham's Arrears, &c.

The humble Petition of Dame Magdalen Tyringham, Wife to Sir Arth. Tyringham Knight, and One of his Majesty's Honourable Privy Council in the Kingdom of Ireland, concerning the Vindicating and Righting the Honour of her deceased Husband, was this Day read: And the House taking Notice of the good and honourable Service of her Husband, and in regard thereof, and out of Memory to his Honour; have recommended and referred her Petition to the Committee for Mr. Chichester's Petition, to consider of the Arrears, and Engagement, and Merits of her Husband, in the Service of Ulster.

Irish Affairs.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for Irish Affairs do meet this Afternoon: And that it be recommended unto them to consider of some effectual and speedy Means for the Drawing out of some Forces, out of some of the other Provinces where they can be spared, and bringing them into the Province of Munster, for the Re-gaining of Limerick.

Buying Arms.

Ordered, That Three thousand Pounds be forthwith paid to the Committee appointed to consider of the Defence of the Kingdom, out of the Monies that are come in upon the Subscriptions, to be disposed by them in buying Arms for the Country.

Impeachment of Lord Mayor.

The Articles of Impeachment in farther Charge against Sir Rich. Gurney Knight and Baronet, Lord Mayor of the City of London, were read altogether first: and then particularly One by One; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be forthwith ingrossed.

Member to be sent for.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Jo. Strangewayes be forthwith sent for, to attend the Service of the Honse.

Raising Volunteers in the City.

The first Proposition, for Raising of Ten thousand Volunteers, was put to the Question.

And the House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

Propositions to be propounded to a Common Council of the City, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament.

1. To desire them, that Ten thousand Volunteers may be speedily raised in the City of London, and the Liberties thereof.

2. That these Men be formed into Companies and Regiments: That they may be under Officers that shall exercise them, by Direction of both Houses of Parliament; and have Eight-pence a Day allowed them, during the Service.

3. It is intended, that this Body shall be ready to march into any Part of the Kingdom, where both Houses of Parliament shall direct.

4. That such of the City as are willing may lend any Arms for this Service, as they can well spare; which Arms shall be restored, or made good, by both Houses of Parliament, if any be lost or impaired.

5. Considering the Preparation in the North, it is desired these may be put into a speedy Way of Dispatch; and that within Three or Four Days, if possible.

That the City will take into Consideration, that such convenient Places as they have, may be appointed to dispose the Magazine in, which is now on Ship-board.

Mr. Marten carried up these Propositions to the Lords, to desire their Concurrence therein; and that they would appoint some Members of Their House to go with some of This, to make these Propositions to the Common Council at London.

Militia.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Bill concerning the Ordering the Militia of the Kingdom, shall be presently read.

Declaration concerning the Militia.

Resolved, upon the Question, That a Declaration be forthwith prepared, and a Committee appointed to that Purpose, to prevent any Obstruction or Discouragement that may be occasioned, to the Execution of the Ordinance for the Militia, by the Reading of this Bill: And to be brought in on Monday Morning: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Four of Clock, in the inner Court of Wards.

A Message from the Lords by Sir Ro. Riche and Mr. Page;

Payment to the Scotts.

The Lords desire a Conference, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this .... concerning Monies that are to be paid unto the Scotts, upon the publick Faith, which are now demanded by the Scotts Commissioners.

Letters from Earl of Warwick.

They farther desire, that they may, at this Conference, impart some Letters which they have received from the Earl of Warwick.

Raising Volunteers in the City.

Mr. Marten brings Answer, That the Lords do agree with this House in all the Propositions: And that they be made unto the Common Council: And to that End have appointed Two Members of their House.

Sir Jo. Potts, Sir Wm. Litton, Sir Tho. Barrington, Sir Martin Lumley, are to go with the proportionable Number of the Lords that are appointed to go to the City, to propound the Propositions to the City, for the Raising of Ten thousand Volunteers, &c.

Defence of the Kingdom.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to take Care of the Defence of the Kingdom, shall have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, &c.

Mayor of Northampton.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Mayor of Northampton shall be joined by this House, not to depart from the Town of Northampton, notwithstanding a Warrant served upon him to that End: And the Corporation of Northampton are to take Care that the Mayor do not depart the Town.

Resolved, &c. That Robert Taverner, a Messenger, and * Johnson, a Servant to Sir Tho. Dallison, shall be forthwith sent for up in safe Custody.

Reparation to Tenants, &c. at Hull.

Mr. Pym reports, from the Committee appointed to consider of the Safety of the Kingdom, a Declaration concerning a Reparation to be made to the Tenants or Owners of the Land about Hull, whose Grounds are drowned by Sir Jo. Hotham's letting forth the Tide: Which was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto: And Ordered, the Lords be moved to join herein.

Grant to Bannister.

Ordered, That Maudlyn Bannister, Widow, shall have Four Pounds given her out of the Contribution Money, towards her Charges, of Herself, her Mother, and Five Children, to go into Holland: And that Mr. Wheeler do forthwith pay the same.

Transporting Horses.

Ordered, That Jacob de Leiwe have Licence for Two Horses .... France.
