PRAYERS.

Privilege- Person sent for.

RESOLVED, That Rich. Robins the elder shall be forthwith sent for as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House, for pulling down, in a riotous Manner, the Inclosures of Sir Jo. Evelyn Knight, a Member of this House: The which Injury and Breach of Privilege, was affirmed by the said Sir Jo. Evelyn to be committed as aforesaid, by the said Robins.

Deputy Lieutenants.

The List of the Deputy Lieutenants for the County of Sommersett was this Day read; and the Persons named therein, by Vote, upon the Question, approved of.

Wray's Estate.

2da vice lecta est Billa, An Act to enable Sir Christ. Wray Knight, to sell the Manor of Hawsted cum Buckenhams, alias Bucknam's, and other Things in the County of Suffolk; and, upon Question, committed unto Mr. Glyn, Mr. Wheeler, Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Whittlocke, * Reynolds, Sir Sam. Owfield, Sir H. Vane, Sir Edw. Aiscough, Mr. Hatcher, Sir Gilbert Gerard, Mr. Jo. Bellassis, Mr. Sandis, Sir Edm. Mountefort, Sir Harvey Baggott, Sir Tho. Cheeke, * Bainton, * Cecil, the Knights and Burgesses of Suffolk and Lincolne: And are to meet on Monday, at Two post meridiem, in the Court of Wards: And the Committee is to give Notice to the Friends of the Lady, and all Parties interested.

Charge against Benion.

Sir Christ. Wray went up to the Lords, to desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, concerning a Charge to be prefered against Mr. Benion.

Answer from the King.

The Lord Dungarvon reports, "That, on Saturday last, we presented the Message to his Majesty: He told us, he would give us an Answer, with all Expedition; and said, That every Word of it was his own dictating, or from his own Writing, in the Original; and delivered a Copy thereof to us, on Monday last."

Which the Lord Dungarvon presented to Mr. Speaker; and was read accordingly.

Conference.

Sir Christ. Wray brings Answer, That the Lords will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Kent Petition.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Robert Riche and Mr. Page;

The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you this Petition of Kent; which was discovered and made known at the last Conference.

Conference.

The House went up to the Conference: And Mr. Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Glyn, and Mr. Whittlock, are appointed Managers of this Conference.

Apprehending Beeling, &c.

Ordered, That Sir Walth. Erle do write to the Mayors of Pembroke and Haverford West, and to return them Thanks for their Care in the apprehending of Colonel Beeling, Captain Darlie, and others.

Kent Petition.

That a Message be sent to the Lords, to desire their Lordships to appoint, that the Committees for Examining the Witnesses concerning the Petition at Maidstone may meet this Afternoon; and may after meet at such times as they shall think fit, for the Dispatch of that Business; and to desire their Lordships to sit awhile, in regard this House shall have Occasion to come unto them upon some Matters of Consequence.

Sir H. Vane carried up this Message.

Petition from the Bishops.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Ro. Rich and Mr. Page;

The Lords have received a short Petition from some of the Bishops that are in the Tower: They have sent it to this House; and desire, that they would take it into a speedy Consideration, that their Pleasures may be known upon it.

King's Message.

His Majesty's Message, this Day brought by the Lord Dungarvon and Sir Anthony Irby, was once again read; and no particular Consideration taken of it now: But resolved to be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning; and the House to be adjourned in the mean time; and a Message to be sent to the Lords* * * *.

Kent Petition.

Sir H. Vane jun brings Answer, That the Lords have appointed that the select Committee concerning the Kentish Petition, do meet this Afternoon at Three of Clock, in the former Place; and have given them Power to meet at such Times and Places as they shall think fit, for the speedier Dispatch of that Business.

Ordered, That the select Committee concerning the Petition framed at Maidstone, do meet this Afternoon, at Three of Clock, in the former Place; and that they have Power afterwards to meet at such Times and Places as they shall think fit, for the speedier Dispatch of this Business.

King's Message.

Sir Antho. Ireby went to the Lords, to desire a Conference concerning a Message this Day received from his Majesty.

Religion.

Ordered, That the same Order shall be made for Saturday, concerning Religion, as was made this Day.

Irish Affairs.

Ordered, That the Committee for Irish Affairs do sit this Afternoon:

That the Committee for Irish Adventurers do meet this Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

Powder, &c.

The Committee for Powder and Arms do meet this Afternoon, in the former Place.

Publishing King's Declaration.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of this House, for the Petition framed at Maidston, to consider of the Warrant come to the Sheriff of Kent, for the Publishing some Declaration from the King, concerning the Militia; and prepare some Order, and present it to the House, touching that Business, that may extend to the whole Kingdom, for That, and all Businesses of the like Nature.

Conference.

Sir Anth. Ireby brings Answer, That the Lords will give a present Meeting, at a Conference by a Committee of the whole House, as is desired.

Sir H. Vane and Mr. Hollis are appointed to manage this Conference; and to deliver this Message, accompanied with these Words;

That This Message is of so dangerous Consequence, and so unexpected, that this House could not delay any Time in acquainting their Lordships with it: And, it being of so great Importance, they have resolved to consider of it seriously, before they give any particular Opinion upon it; and that they may the more sadly consider of it, they have resolved to adjourn till To-morrow: And to meddle with no other Business in the mean time; and do desire the Lords to do the like, if they shall so think fit.

Resolved, upon the Question, that this shall be the Substance of the Conference with the Lords.

Reducing Irish Rebels.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Ro. Riche and Mr. Page;

The Lords have sent down the Act for Addition and Explanation of some Clauses in the Act for the effectual Reducing the Rebels in Ireland, with some Amendments, and an additional Clause.

The Amendments, and the additional Clause were read; and assented unto; and the Bill ordered to be amended accordingly.

There was a Schedule also annexed to the Bill, sent down at first in Paper; which, because it was not sent regularly in Parchment, (the Bill beginning with us) it was returned to the Lords again; and this Day sent down again, ingrossed in Parchment, but not indorsed as it ought to be; and read Three several times; and then, upon the Question, assented unto; and signed by the Clerk accordingly.

Powder for Devon.

Ordered, That Mr. Cordwell do deliver to Sir Samuel Rolls, Thirty Barrels of Powder, for the County of Devon, at the Rate already settled.

Deputy Lieutenants.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Wm. Bull and Mr. Rob. Harbyn be recommended to the Lord Lieutenant for the County of Somersett, to be added, to be Deputy Lieutenants for that County.

Person committed.

Resolved, &c. That * Humphrecvile, who was sent for as a Delinquent, shall be committed to the Gatehouse, there to remain during the Pleasure of this House.

Kentish Petition.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Hen. Vane jun. shall be added to the Committee for the Kentish Petition, instead of Mr. Alex. Carew, who hath had since Leave to go into the Country.

Deputy Lieutenants.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve of the Names of the Deputy Lieutenants presented for the County of Lincolne; and that Mr. Grantham be recommended to be added.

Leave of Absence.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Hatwayes shall have Leave to go into the Country.

Persons sent for.

It is this Day Ordered, by the Commons House of Parliament, That Christopher Beeling, Captain Edward Darcie, Captain Geo. Darcie, Captain David Callagen, and Hugh Molly, a Franciscan Frier, be forthwith sent for to London: And the Sheriffs of the several Counties through which they are to pass, from the Places where they are in Hold, are hereby required to see the said Persons safely conducted, with a good and sufficient Guard, till they come to London.

Forces for Ireland.

Resolved, &c. That, with the Money paid by the Adventurers, additional Forces shall be raised, and sent with as much Expedition, and in such a Proportion, as shall most tend to the speedy and effectual Reducing of the Kingdom of Ireland.

Resolved, &c. That the Officers of those additional Forces shall be nominated by the Adventurers; and presented to this House for their Approbation.

Resolved, &c. That, for the better Disposing of the Adventurers Money, the Sums to be issued out of their Stock shall be propounded to this Committee: And they to consider of the same, and present it to this House, for their Direction.
