PRAYERS.

Poll-money.

SIR John Hotham presents from the Committee appointed for the Poll-money, a Certificate to be general for all the Counties of England; and likewise a Declaration to be published in that Business: Which were both read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be forthwith printed.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Watsingham shall receive Sir Leonard Forbye's Twenty Pounds, assessed upon him by the Act of the Poll-money, and pay it into the Chamber of London.

Ordered, That the Committee for Poll-money do draw an Order, and present the same to this House, for the Distributing of the Poll-money received at Yorke among the several Counties, Cities, and Towns in the North, to whom this House is indebted.

Ordered, That Auditor Bingley, and Auditor Worfield, be required, from this House, to audit and cast up the Accounts concerning Sir Wm. Uvedall, Treasurer at Wars; and to present the same to the Committee for the Poll-money: Who are to consider of the same.

Naval Affairs.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Officers of the Navy, to present to this House, Precedents concerning the Taking up of Merchants Ships, and Payment of them after the Rate of Twenty-eight and Thirty Days Per Month, for the King; and likewise what Precedents are in the City concerning the same.

Levying Soldiers for Ireland.

Serjeant Wilde reports the Bill for the better Levying and Raising of Soldiers, &c. for the Service of Ireland, together with the Amendments and Additions: The which Amendments and Additions were twice read; and, upon the Question, the Bill recommitted unto the same Committee; with the Addition of Sir Symon D'Ewes, and of Mr. Whistler: And are to meet upon it presently.

Tonage and Poundage.

3^* vice lecta, A Subsidy granted to the King of Tonage, Poundage, and other Sums of Money payable upon Merchandize exported and imported.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Bill shall pass.

Ordered, That the Lords be moved, at the Carrying up of the Bill for Tonage and Poundage, to join with this House, according to their former Desire, in moving his Majesty to appoint the Earl of Salisbury to be Lord Treasurer; and also to join with this House, in moving his Majesty to appoint the Earl of Pembroke Lord Steward of his Majesty's Houshold; for that this House is deprived of divers Members, by reason there is no Lord Steward, to give or authorize the Giving of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy.

Securing Papists.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, concerning the Bill, sent to this House from their Lordships, for securing the Persons of divers Papists.

Parliament Guard.

Ordered, That the Committee, appointed to draw Reasons to present to his Majesty for the Continuance of the Guards, shall have farther Power to consider what Reasons are fit to be given for Removing of this Guard newly appointed; and for preserving the Privilege of Parliament in that Particular: And That Committee is to take this last Particular into Consideration in the first Place: And Mr. Maynard, Mr. Glyn, Mr. Crew, Mr. Waller, Mr. Grimston, Sir Sam. Roll, and Mr. Martyn, are added to this Committee.

Trained Bands.

Whereas, by a former Order of the Tenth of Nov. instant, the Trained Bands, that attended this House, were ordered to have their Pay after the Rate of Six Pounds One Shilling and Six-pence Per Diem, so long as they continued in that Service, to begin from Monday 8° Nov. instant: It is this Day Ordered, That Sir Robert Pye, and Mr. Wheeler, shall pay the said Trained Bands, to Saturday Night last from the Time aforesaid, according to the said Order, out of the Poll-money that is in their Hands.

Order vacated.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the former Resolution of this House, concerning the not Allowing of Officers of a Regiment of Horse, shall be vacated.

Ships for Ireland.

Ordered, That Four hundred Pounds shall be imprested out of the Chamber of London to the Lieutenant of the Ordnance, or such as he shall appoint, for Provisions to be made towards the Furnishing of Four Ships for the Service of Ireland.

Forces in Ireland.

Ordered, That Nine hundred and Fourteen Pounds, for a Month's Pay, shall be imprest out of the Chamber of London, to those Officers that are to raise Two Regiments of Foot in Ulster in Ireland.

Bailing a Prisoner.

Ordered, That Nicho. Beal, now in the Custody of the Serjeant, shall be bailed upon reasonable Bail, for his Appearance before this House, when he shall be required thereunto.

Forces in Ireland.

Ordered, That Two thousand Pounds shall be imprested, out of the Chamber of London, to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, or to such as he shall appoint, for the Raising of Two Regiments of Foot in Ulster in Ireland.

Conference.

Sir Gilbert Gerard is to go to the Lords, with this Message;

To desire a Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, concerning the Bill for securing the Persons of Papists; and, concerning the Ordinance for securing the City of London for the Fifty thousand Pounds, borrowed of them.

Mr. Reignolds and Mr. Whitlock are appointed Managers of that Conference.

The Ordinance for securing the City to have their Fifty thousand Pounds repaid unto them, was read; and ordered to be delivered at the Conference.

Earl of St. Albons thanked.

Ordered, That Sir Philip Stapleton desire the Lord Chamberlain, from this House, to return Thanks to the Earl of St. Albons, for his Readiness and Care in preserving that Part of the Kingdom where he lives, safe from the Incursion of the Rebels; and his Affection, in the Endeavour to suppress them.
