PRAYERS .

Trained Band.

THE humble Petition of the Trained Band of the Liberty of the Duchy, in the Strond, was this Day read: And it is Ordered, That it be recommended to the Earl of Essex, Earl of Dorsett, and Earl of Holland; desiring them to take into their special Consideration Sir Tho. Fisher, mentioned in the Petition.

Disbanding the Army.

Mr. Pymme reports the Declaration made by the Earl of Holland, of his Proceedings in the Disbanding of the Army, which was delivered at a Conference, desired by the Lords for that Purpose.

Trained Bands.

Mr. Wheeler reports from the Committee appointed to consider what Recompence is fit to be given to the Trained Bands, that have the Guard of the City of Westminster; and for the Filling the Trained Bands of the County of Midd.

It is agreed, that the Officers and Soldiers shall have Pay.

It is agreed, that the same Pay shall be given them, according to the List hereafter.

That this Pay shall begin on Monday next. And, for the time past, the Recompence is referred to the Consideration of this House.

The Watch began 20° Octobr.

That, for the orderly Pay of them, that a Clerk be appointed, as well for the Paying of them, as View of them; and to keep Rolls.

That this their Pay shall be made out of the Pollmoney remaining in the Charge of the Treasurers of Westminster.

That the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Midd. shall bring in the Names of such Persons as they will compleat their Companies withal to the Committee, to be presented unto the House.

That, in regard the Company of Westminster is very large, and the great Increase of new Inhabitants and able Men to bear Arms, that the Deputy Lieutenants shall consider how the same may be divided into Two or more Companies, so as there may be Two hundred Men in each Company.

To consider of some Way of punishing Defaulters, and such as are unruly.

That the Officers of the Four Neighbour Companies shall be treated withal: And, out of these Companies, to have a hundred Men, who may watch in Turns day

E. of Holland thanked.

Ordered, That Mr. Pimme shall return to the Earl of Holland Thanks, in the Name of the House, for his great Care in the Disbanding of the Army.

Trained Band.

Ordered, That Mr. Hotham, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir Gilbert Gerard, and Mr. Strode, shall deliver unto the Earls of Essex, Dorsett, and Holland, the Petition of the Trained Band, recommended unto them from this House.

Gold and Silver Thread.

Whereas the Commission, Instructions, and Orders, of the Commissioners for Regulating of Gold and Silver Thread, &c. were, by former Order, brought into the Custody of the Clerk of this House; and afterwards by an Order of the Ninth of July, delivered forth, for the Use of the Commissioners for the Regulating the Trade of Gold and Silver Thread, as by the said Order of the 9° Julii may appear: It is this Day Ordered, That the said Commissioners, or any other, in whose Custody the said Instructions, Commission and Orders, now are, shall forthwith deliver the same into the Custody of the Clerk; to the end that all Parties whom they do concern may make use of them at their several Trials.

Letter delivered.

Memorandum. This Day Sir John Clotworthy had from me the Letter of the 2d of Nov. from Sir John Temple to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland.

Supply for Ireland.

Ordered, That the Eleven thousand Pounds, paid by the Treasurers for the Subsidy for the Use of the Irish Affairs, shall be repaid, towards the Debts due from this House to the several Counties, according to the Act of Parliament, as soon as the same is received again out of the Fifty thousand Pounds to be lent by the City of London: And also, that the Monies now received at Yorke, and the Monies which shall hereafter be received, shall be paid for the Use aforesaid.

Specie for Ireland.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Merchants who have made the Proposition to this House of transporting foreign Coin in Specie into Ireland, for the present Occasions of that Kingdom, shall have Liberty to transport so much only as the Lords and Commons in Parliament shall from time to time give them Order and Directions for; paying it there as it passes by Proclamation: And that all Sums, so transported, shall be registred in the Customhouse: And that they shall bring Certificates from the Ports where they shall land the said Monies, that they have landed so much there.

And it is farther Ordered, That Report of this Proposition shall be made to the Lords, at the next Conference; and their Lordships desired to join in this Order.

Trained Bands.

Ordered, That the Trained Bands that guard about Westminster, shall be paid after the Rate of Eighteenpence per diem, rateably, for so many as shall watch, so long as they shall continue in this Service; and that their Pay shall begin from Monday last: And Sir Ro. Pye and Mr. Wheeler are appointed to pay this Money, out of the Monies received by them.

Soldiers going beyond Sea, &c.

Ordered, That, at a Conference to be desired with the Lords, their Lordships may be made acquainted, that this House was misinformed concerning the List of the Soldiers to go beyond Sea (being informed, they were Walloones, and other Strangers) and that the Intention of this House was, not to give way to any Irish to be transported; neither doth the Order of this House extend to any Persons, Subjects of the King's; but only to Strangers: And to move the Lords, that such of them as are Persons to be suspected may be examined.

The Lord Herbert is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire a Conference with their Lordships, concerning the Irish Affairs.

Payment to Cremer.

Ordered, That Sir Ro. Pye and Mr. Wheeler do pay Mr. Cremer Twenty Marks, for his Charges to West Chester, and back again; being employed in the Service of this House.

Council of War.

Ordered, That the Lords be moved, at a Conference, that Sir Rob. Kinge and Colonel Colpeper may be added to those that are of the Council of War.

Prisoners discharged.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Raphiel Tartara and Tho. Trarary shall be forthwith discharged from their Restraint.

Royal Family's Servants.

Ordered, That, at the next Conference, the Lords shall be moved, that the Servants of the King, Queen, Prince, and the rest of the King's Children, may, according to the Law, take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy.

Conference.

The Lord Herbert brings Answer, that he had delivered the Commands of this House; and that the Lords will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Mr. Pym, Sir Tho. Barrington, Mr. Hollis, Sir John Clotworthy, Sir Hen. Vane, are appointed Managers of this Conference.

Henley's &c Propositions.

PROPOSITIONS made by Mr.Henley and Mr.Hawckridge; viz.

First, Mr. Henley and Mr. Hawkridge are to pay to Sir Adam Loftus the full Sum of Twenty thousand Pounds, that is, Six thousand Pounds upon Sight; and the other Fourteen thousand Pounds within Fifteen Days, after Fifteen thousand Pounds shall be paid here.

And the said Mr. Henley and Mr. Hawkridge are to receive Ten thousand Pounds in hand, Five thousand Pounds more at Six Days, and Five thousand Pounds more at Two Months.

And they are to have a Licence for the Transporting of Twenty thousand Pounds, of Spanish Money: And they are to have the Use of such Shipping as is appointed to transport Money for the present Service in Ireland: And they are to make Entry of the said Sum in the Customhouse: And they are to bring Certificates from the Ports in Ireland where they shall land the said Monies, that they have landed so much there.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth assent to these Propositions.

Memorandum, Mr. Pimme had from me the Examination of Mr. Cremer, to deliver to the Lords, at a Conference.

Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Bennett and Dr. Littleton;

The Lords desire a present Conference, by a Committee of both Houses in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, touching the Matter of the last Conference.

Answer returned, by the same Messengers; That this House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration; and will give a present Meeting as is desired.

Ordered, That those that managed the last Conference shall report This.

Letters from Antwerpe.

Ordered, That the Committee of this House, shall when this Conference shall be ended, peruse the Letters from Antwerpe, with the Committee of the Lords.

Redeeming Captives.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to consider of the Bill for Redeeming of the Captives of Algiers do meet To-morrow Morning at Eight of Clock, in the usual Place.

Conference.

Mr. Pym reports, that the Lords had agreed to each particular Clause of the Conference desired by this House this Morning.

Remonstrance.

The Order for resuming the Consideration of the Remonstrance was read:

And accordingly the House proceeded to the Consideration thereof.

That a Consideration be had of adding.. the Remonstrance the Sermons preached in divers Places before the King, "that the Subject had no Property in his Estate:"

The Prayer, that was set forth by the Bishops, wherein they call the Scotts "Rebels:"

The Clergy's Contribution, before the Convocation:

The Imprisonment of the Aldermen of London.

Ordered, That the Clerk shall give out no Copies of this Declaration, till the House has fully perfected it.

Ordered, That the House shall resume the Consideration of the Declaration To-morrow Morning at Ten of Clock.
