MR. Rigby reports the Bill for making the Chapel of Hoole, in the County of Lanc' a Parish Church, with the Amendments and Additions: The which Amendments and Additions were twice read; and then opened by Mr. *; and the Bill, with the Additions, and Amendments, ordered to be ingrossed.

1^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for settling the Remainder of Fourscore Years to come, in certain Manors and Lands in the County of Somersett, upon Sir Francis Popham Knight and his Assigns.

Trained Soldiers, &c.

1^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act concerning trained Soldiers; and for the Providing of Gunpowder, and other Munition, for Defence of the Realm.

Venetian Ambassador's Priest, &c.

Mr. Pymm brings from the Committee for the Ten Propositions, a Paper; which was read, in hæc Verba:

"His Majesty hath commanded me to tell you, that, upon a Complaint of the Venetian Ambassador, for the Imprisoning of a Priest, being his Majesty's Subject, he thinks fit that Two things be done:"

"First, That all Ambassadors should have it declared to them, in his Majesty's Name, that they retain no Priests, Native of any of his Majesty's Dominions."

"Secondly, That this Priest be presently sent out of the Kingdom, and not return again, but at his Peril."

"This Favour his Majesty thinks fit to shew the Venetian Ambassador; seeing this particular Person, as his Majesty is informed, hath been his Servant these Three Years, and was brought over with him, when he came; the Ambassador himself being ignorant of the Laws of this Kingdom."

Ordered, That the Committee for the Ten Propositions examine the Truth of the Business, concerning the Venetian Ambassador's Priest; and whether he hath endeavoured to seduce the King's Subjects from the true Religion; and that they send for Mr. Carpenter, to inform themselves further concerning him; and represent to the House the true State of the Business.

State of the Army.

Ordered, That the Committee for the King's Army sit To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Inner Treasury-chamber, to consider of the State of the Army, as now it stands : and what Regiments are fit to be disbanded.

Payment by Customers.

Ordered, That the Serjeant do signify from this House unto the Customers, that they do forthwith pay in the Fifty thousand Pounds, Residue of the One hundred and Fifty thousand Pounds, according to a former Order: And also, to signify to those Customers that were to pay Fifteen thousand Pounds, that they do forthwith pay in the Residue of the Fifteen thousand Pounds, according to a former Order : And the Serjeant is ordered to give an Account unto this House, To-morrow Morning, of their several Answers touching the same.

Forest.

3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Certainty of Forests; and of the Metes, Meres, Limits, aad Bounds, of Forests; and, upon Question, passed.

That Mr. Selden and Mr. Palmer shall prepare a Draught of a Commission, to be sent into the Counties, concerning Forests.

Edggar's Free-school.

3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Jo. Edggar's of Mountgomeries, Free-school, within the Parish of Alton, in the County of Southampton: Upon Question, passed.

Charge against Inico Jones.

The ingrossed Charge against Inico Jones, upon the Complaint of the Parishioners of St. Gregorie's, London, was read the Third time; and, upon Question, ordered to be transmitted to the Lords : Mr. Palmer is appointed to go up with it.

Conference desired.

Sir John Holland is appointed to go up to the Lords, to desire a Conference with their Lordships, so soon as may stand with their Lordships Conveniency, concerning the Transmission of the Articles against the Bishop of Ely; and the Charge against Inigo Jones, in the Behalf of the Parishioners of St. Gregorie's by Paule's.

Bills sent to Ends.

He likewise carried up these Three Bills: 1. For the Certainty of Forests. 2. For John Eggar's Free-school. 3. For Security of true Religon, and Safety and Honour of His Majesty's Person, &c.-

Security of Religion.

3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Security of true Religion, and Safety and Honour of his Majesty's Person, the just Rights of the Subject; and the better Discovery and Punishment of Popish Recusants: Upon Question, passed.

That these Words "out of this House" shall be strucken out.

That these Words, "except it be for electing and choosing the Speaker" shall be inserted into the latter Clause of the Bill.

That, in the Stead of the Word "hereafter," "from and after the First Day of September in the Year of our Lord God One thousand Six hundred and Forty-one" shall be inserted.

Disarming Recusants.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Lecch and Dr. Bennett;

The Lords desire a Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, concerning the Disarming of Recusants, at Four of Clock in the Afternoon, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House.

Answer returned, by the same Messengers;

This House has taken into Consideration their Lordships Message; and is resolved to give a Meeting, as is desired.

Mr. Rigby, Mr. Whitlocke, Sir Tho. Widdrington, Mr. White, Sir H. Mildmay, Mr. Perd, Mr. Whistler, are appointed Managers of this Conference.

Wales Court of Murches.

3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for exempting the Four Shires of Glouc' Salop, Worcester, and Hereford, from the Jurisdiction of the Court of the President and Council of the Principality of Wales: Upon Question, passed.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Harley shall carry up the Bill concerning the Exempting the Four Shires, To-morrow Morning.

Soap Business.

That the Report concerning the Soap Business be made on Tuesday Morning next.

Everitt's Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of John Everitt, Churchwarden of the Parish of St. Botolph without Bishopgate, London, be referred to the Grand Committee for Religion; to be considered of, when the House shall meet, after the next Recess.

Court of Wards.

Ordered, That the Report concerning the Court of Wards be made on Wednesday Morning next.

Faunt's Case.

Ordered, That Mr. Perd do prepare the Votes of this House, and the Decree, in Sir Wm. Faunt's Case, fit to be transmitted to the Lords.

Irish Affairs.

Ordered, That the Committee for Irish Affairs do sit on Thursday next in the Afternoon, concerning the Business of Londonderry; and, if they have Time, to consider of Sir Fredericke Hamilton's Petitions.

Answer from Lords.

Sir John Holland returned this Answer from the Lords;

That he had delivered the Three Bills, sent up by him: And, as touching the Transmission of the Charge against Matthew Wrenn Bishop of Ely; and the Charge against Inico Jones, touching St. Gregorie's Church; the Lords will give a Meeting To-morrow at Three of Clock, in the Painted Chamber.

Smart's Business, &c.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to consider of the Message sent from the Lords, concerning Mr. Smart's Business, to which Mr. Fisher's Petition, amongst other things, is referred, do meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the usual Place.
