PRAYERS.

Recusants Estates.

2da vice lecta AN Act for the better Regulating of the est Billa, Profits of the Two Parts of Recuants Lands, liable to Seizure for their Recusancy; upon Question, committed unto the Committee for the Bill intituled, An Act to restrain Bishops, and others in Holy Orders, from intermeddling with Secular Affairs.

Publication of Proceedings.

Ordered, That the Matter concerning the Printing of the Lord Falkland's Speech be referred to the Committee appointed to consider of the Printing of Mr. Solicitor's Speech: And that Committee is to meet on Wednesday next at Two of Clock, in the Treasury-chamber.

Observing the Sabbath.

Ordered, That the Aldermen and Citizens, that serve for the City of London, shall intimate unto the Lord Mayor, from this House, that the Statutes for the due Observing of the Sabbath be put in Execution: And that the like intimation, from this House, be made to the Justices of Peace in all the Counties of England and Wales: And the Knights of the Shire for the several Counties are to take care that Copies of this Order be accordingly sent to the Justices of Peace in the several Counties aforesaid.

Doors shut.

Ordered, That the Doors be shut, and the Key brought up; and that none go forth without Leave.

Proceedings against Earl of Straford.

Mr. Glyn reports, from the Committee for the Earl of Straford, some Grounds concerning the farther Evidence that was offered by the Committee, to corroborate the Evidence upon the latter Part of the Three-and-twentieth Article; and thereupon Sir H. Vane the younger, and Mr. Pimme, are enjoined, by this House, to declare their whole Knowledge concerning the Matters, contained in the Three-and-twentieth Article, against the Earl of Straford; and how, and by what Means, they came to the Knowledge thereof: Which when they had done, (a) a Paper was produced by Mr. Pimme, and so much of it read by him as concerned the Earl of Straford: And then it was ordered, upon the Question, that That Paper, whereof Mr. Pimme had now read part, shall be all of it read. So it was. And, Notice being given of a Message from the Lords, it was ordered, that all the Members keep their Seats; and go not out of the House without Leave.-

(a) That Paper was a Copy of Notes, taken at a Giunto of the Privy Council, for the Scotch Affairs, about the Fifth of May last.

Cessation of Arms with Scotland.

A Message from the Lords, by J. Foster and J. Heath;

The Lords desire a Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, touching the Cessation of Arms.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; that this House has taken their Lordship's Message into Consideration; that they are now in Debate of a great Business; and will, in convenient Time, send Answer by Messengers of their own.-

Taking Notes.

Mr. Treasurer is enjoined, by this House, to answer, whether he did take any Notes, to the Effect of those Notes, that have been now here read; at what Time, and upon what Occasion. * * * *

Cessation of Arms with Scotland.

Sir Edw. Hungerford is appointed to go up to the Lords with this Answer to their Lordship's Message, concerning a Cessation; that this House will give their Lordships a Meeting, by a Committee of the whole House, presently, in the Painted Chamber, as is desired.

Sir Edw. Hungerford brings Answer; that the Lords are now ready, and expect the Committee of this House.

Mr. Treasurer, Mr. Fines, Mr. Hollis, Sir Jo. Colpeper, Mr. Pierrepoint, Sir Tho. Barrington, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House does approve of the Continuance of a Cessation of Arms between the Two Kingdoms for a Month longer, from the 16th of this instant Month of April, upon the same Terms it was formerly agreed upon, in case the Treaty shall so long continue.

Mr. Pierrepoint carried up to the Lords this Resolution of the House of Commons.

Attainder of Earl of Straford.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Bill for the Attainder of Tho. Earl of Straford of High Treason, shall be now read.

Trial of Earl of Straford.

Ordered, That the Committee, appointed to manage the Evidence at the Trial of the Earl of Straford, do meet at their usual Place on Monday Morning at Seven of Clock: and that the House resume the Consideration of the Proceedings against the Earl of Straford on Monday Morning at * of Clock.
