Prayers.

Exporting Wool to Scotland.

Sir John Kay presented to the House a Bill for the more effectual preventing the Exportation of Wool to Scotland; And the same was received.

The Bill was read the First time; and, because the same was brought in with Penalties, the same was, by the Leave of the House, withdrawn.

Irish Arrears.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Soldiers of the Earl of Arran's Regiment is referred, be made upon Monday Morning next.

Woollen Manufacture.

Sir George Hungerford presented to the House a Bill for the better Improvement of the Woollen Manufacture: And the same was received.

The Bill was read the First time; and, because the same was brought in with Penalties, the same was, by Leave of the House, withdrawn.

Challoner's Complaint.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of the Treasury, Mr. Molyneux, and Sir Marma. Wivell, be added to the Committee, to whom the Petition of William Challoner Gentleman is referred.

Weights and Measures.

A Bill to prevent Abuses in Weights and Measures was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Lacon William Child:

Mr. Speaker,

Supply Bill; Malt Duties.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for explaining an Act, made the last Session of Parliament, for granting to his Majesty certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Sweets, Cyder, and Perry, without any Amendments:

Supply Bill; Arrears of Annuities.

And also to the Bill, intituled, An Act for satisfying and discharging the Arrears of several Annuities which incurred between the 17th Day of May 1696, and the 17th Day of May 1697, without any Amendments:

Salt to be sold by Weight.

And also to the Bill, intituled, An Act that all Retailers of Salt shall sell by Weight, without any Amendments: Also

Poor Relief.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for explaining an Act, made the last Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act for supplying some Defects in the Laws for the Relief of the Poor of this Kingdom, with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Suppressing Atheism, &c.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the more effectual Suppressing of Atheism, Blasphemy, and Profaneness, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

Answer to Address.

The Lord Coningsby acquainted the House, That their Address having been presented to his Majesty, That he would please to cause to be laid before this House the Articles upon the Surrender of Limerick and Galway; and such Proclamations as issued in Ireland, to encourage Persons to come in and submit themselves to his Majesty; and that his Majesty had been pleased to give Directions, That they shall be laid before the House.

Ordered, That the Report touching Sir Buchier Wray be made To-morrow Morning.

Salmon Preservation.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for the Increase and Preservation of Salmon, and the Fry of Salmon, in the Rivers of this Kingdom, was committed, be made upon Saturday Morning next.

Supply.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to his Majesty.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had directed him to move, That the Estimates of the Ordinary of the Navy for the Years 1685 and 1696, may be referred to the said Committee.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Estimates be referred to the said Committee of the whole House.

Sir Thomas Littleton also acquainted the House, That he was directed by the said Committee to move, That they may have Leave to fit again.

Resolved, That this House do immediately resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the said Supply.

The House resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House accordingly.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Tho. Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had made a further Progress in the Matter to them referred.
