Moyle's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for vesting Part of the Estate of Richard Moyle, Gentleman, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of Debts, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. White, Mr. Shackerley, Mr. Fortescue, Sir Tho. Dike, Sir Mar. Wyvell, Sir Hen. Colt, Sir John Bolls, Sir John Elwill, Mr. Brotherton, Mr. Pocklington, Mr. Taylor, Mr. Clobury, Mr. Slater, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Colt, Mr. Manly, Mr. Mounstevens, Mr. Bertye, Dr. Oxenden, Brigadier Trelawney, Mr. Solicitor-General, Mr. Lowther, Sir Cha. Turner, Mr. Waller, Sir Tho. Woollen Manufactures.

Ordered, That the Bill to encourage the Woollen Manufactures in England; and to prevent the Exportation thereof from Ireland to foreign Parts; be read a Second time To-morrow, in a full House.

Paving and cleansing Streets.

An ingrossed Bill for explaining and enforcing the Act, made in the Second Year of his Majesty's Reign, for paving and cleansing the Streets within the Weekly Bills of Mortality, and the Streets adjoining thereunto, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for explaining and enforcing the Act for paving and cleansing the Streets within the Cities of London and Westminster, and Borough of Southwark, and Weekly Bills of Mortality, and Streets adjoining thereunto; and for widening the Street at the South End of London-Bridge.

Ordered, That Sir Henry Colt do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Tinners Trade.

Mr. Boscawen, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for encouraging the Consumption of Tin, and advancing the Price thereof: And the same was received.

Army Arrears.

A Petition of Katherine Lovelace, Administratrix of her Son-in-Law, Captain Peircy Kirk, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That her Son-in-Law was Captain of a Company of Marines, in the Regiment commanded by the Right Honourable the Marquis of Carmarthen; and that, when he died in the West-Indies, there was due to him for his Pay, as Captain of the said Regiment, the Sum of 135l. or thereabouts, as the same had been stated and agreed to before the Commissioners of Accounts; and that Mr. Richard Harnage, Agent to the said Regiment, was thereupon directed, by the said Commissioners, to make Payment of the said Arrear to the Petitioner; who did accordingly pay her 95l. Part thereof, and desired longer time for paying the Remainder: But the said Mr. Harnage doth now absolutely refuse to pay the Petitioner the Remainder: And praying the Consideration of the House; and that the said Mr. Harnage may be directed to pay the Remainder of the said Arrear to the Petitioner.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee, to whom the Petition of John Hakewell, and other Troopers, was referred.

Disannulling Knight's Marriage.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for disannulling the Marriage of Hannah Knight, an Infant; and for punishing the Persons concerned in conveying her away; was committed; be made To-morrow Morning.

Commissioners of Victualling.

A Petition of John Tutchin Gentleman, late One of the Clerks of his Majesty's Victualling-Office, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That he having been ruined in the late Reigns, for ascertaining the Liberty of England, and the Protestant Religion; and, being returned from Ireland, in the Service of his present Majesty; his Uncle James How Esquire, One of the Commissioners of the Victualing-Office, gave him a Clerk's Place in the said Office; but, his Uncle soon after dying, and the Petitioner being left to the Mercy of the surviving Commissioners, they gave the just Profits of the Petitioner to a Creature of their own; who has been guilty of many Embezzlements; of which the Commissioners took no Notice, though informed thereof by the Petitioner: That he never was yet charged by the Commissioners with any thing tending to the Prejudice of the King, or Neglect of Business; but, on the contrary, has saved the King some Hundreds of Pounds per Ann.; which, through Ignorance, was before lost: That the Petitioner hath often solicited the said Commissioners for his just Fees, but without any Effect: And praying such Relief therein as this House shall think fit.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to a Committee: And that they do examine the Matter of Fact; and report the same to the House:

Supply Bill Malt Duties.

Ordered, That the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for granting to his Majesty certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Sweets, Cyder, and Perry, as well towards carrying on the War against France, as for the necessary Expence of his Majesty's Houshold, and other Occasions, is committed, have Power to receive Clauses for advancing the Money to be raised by the said Bill.

Abuses in the Mint.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee appointed to inquire into the Miscarriages of the Officers of the Mint be made To-morrow Morning; and nothing to intervene.

Brokers and Stock Jobbers.

Ordered, That Mr. Bridges, Mr. Holt, Mr. Mason, Mr. Liddell, Sir Tho. Mompesson, Mr. Hedger, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Henley, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill to restrain the Number, and ill Practice, of Brokers and Stockjobbers, is committed.

Irish Arrears.

Ordered, That Sir Hen. Colt, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Norris, Mr. Colt, Sir Math. Andrews, Mr. Freke, Sir Edward Abney, be added to the Committee, to whom the Petition of John Hakewell and Alexander Gamble, on bebehalf of themselves, and other Troopers, who served in the Wars in Ireland, and served in Colonel Villers' Regiment, was referred.

Ways and Means.

Resolved, That the Committee of the whole House, to whom it is referred to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France, for the Service of the Year 1697, instead of the Duty upon Wines, have Power to consider of an Equivalent for the Duty laid upon the Manufactures made of, or mixed with, Wool, Silk, or Hair, if they think fit.

Then the House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into the said Committee of the whole House.

Sir Tho. Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had made a further Progress in the Matter to them referred; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to sit again.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the said Bill.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
