AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the naturalizing Johanna D'Offarrell, an Infant, and her Sisters and Two Brothers, was read the First time.
Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.
Leekby Manor.
An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the vesting the Third Part of the Manor of Leckby, alias Letby, and other Lands, in the County of York, in Trustees, to be sold; and for settling a Farm, and other Lands, in Tarling and Much-Leighs, in the County of Essex, of greater Value, to and upon the same Uses; was read the Third time.
Resolved, That the Bill do pass.
Ordered, That Mr. Waller do carry the Bill to the Lords, and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the Bill, with some Amendments: To which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.
St. John of Wapping Parish.
The House proceeded to take into Consideration the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for the Endowment of a Chapel at Wapping, and making of it Parochial, and distinct from the Parish of Whitechapel, was committed:
And the Amendments, made by the said Committee to the Bill, being read a Second time, one by one, the same were, with other Amendments, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.
A Proviso was offered to be added to the Bill, touching Repair of the Highways:
And the same was twice read; and, with some Amendments, agreed unto by the House, to be made Part of the Bill.
Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.
Bussiny Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ, for electing a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Bossiny in the County of Cornwall, in the room of Sir Peter Colliton Baronet, deceased.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Sir John Wyn have Leave to go into the Country, upon extraordinary Occasions.
Ordered, That Sir Francis War have Leave to go into the Country, upon extraordinary Occasions.
Ordered, That Mr. Thornhaugh have Leave to go into the Country, upon extraordinary Occasions.
Supply Bill; Poll Tax.
Sir Thomas Littleton, according to the Order of the Day, reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for granting to their Majesties a Quarterly Poll, for One Year, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House; and which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, with some other Amendments, agreed unto by the House.
A Clause was offered to be added to the Bill, for Members of the House to be Commissioners:
And the same was twice read; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House, to be made Part of the Bill.
Another Clause was offered to be added to the Bill, for the excusing Labourers:
And the same was, by Leave of the House, withdrawn.
Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.
Tonage Duties, &c. [Bank of England incorporated.]
Resolved, That this House do immediately resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for granting to their Majesties certain Duties upon Wines, and upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors; and also of the Bill for granting to their Majesties several Duties upon the Tonage of Ships.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had made some Progress in the Matters to them referred; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to fit again.
Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the said Bills.
Ways and Means.
Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supplies to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet, and Land-forces, for the Service of the Year 1694.
Woollen Manufactures.
Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for reviving the Act, made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, for preventing the Exportation of Wool, and better Encouragement of the Woollen Manufactures of this Kingdom, was committed, be taken into Consideration upon Thursday Morning next.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
